Been downloading WiiU version ALL evening. Man, at least I never have to swap the disc in the future

The lady at the till asked me how old my son was! I explained that actually, it's all for me and it's my guilty pleasure as a 29-year old full-time worker and homeowner. We nattered about Skylanders and Pokémon a bit, then I came home and got ready for work. Got home around 4.15pm and my Dark Edition had been delivered! Just started playing now and completed the first stage. I absolutely adore this game already; I'm so pleased Toys For Bob are back in control. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Swap Force, but once I got over the initial "special feeling", it seemed a bit... Lacklustre.

I then decided this evening, as my Tesco had no Trap Masters, to try my luck at Sainsbury's and I got lucky! They had, which I picked up:

Wild Fire
Bushwhack
Krypt King
Head Rush
Wallop
Jawbreaker

Unfortunately, they didn't have Lob Star available, but I will try to get him along with the 3DS starter when I go to GAME in town tomorrow and take advantage of their £10 for a portal trade-in offer.

I've noticed that there's the Legendary Nightmare Express, the other adventure pack, and a couple of legendary characters on the Toys R Us site, but I think I'll wait until Legendary Deja Vu is out and order the lot then... Asides from the fact that I blew my game savings on today alone, I don't want to pay extra postage for one figure when I can just be patient and wait.

But overall a good haul!

For anyone who isn't spent up, I just had a quick read through of the thread and I'm not sure if this information is obvious to people who are still buying in store. I've been to two Tescos, two Asdas, a Game, a Smyth's and a TrU.

Game, Smyth's and TrU are all more expensive than Tesco and Asda across the board. But I had to use two of each of Tesco and Asda to get the full range. The cheapest prices (in my area) are:

Asda is the cheapest for any Trappers they manage to stock (I only saw some Wave 1): £13
Tesco is cheapest for:

Wave 2 Trappers: £13.50
Core triples: £22.50
Trap triples: £14
Wave 2 Cores: £9

(none of these found at Asda)

Probably a bit late to be too much use, but maybe someone will be shoping tomorrow.

You were unlucky with your Tesco. Both of mine had a full set of Trap Masters.

How much were they at Sainsbury's? - I never tried there.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the Argos 8 pack of Traps? I'll admit I've not been up to speed with what's coming out for Trap Team, in fact I only decided yesterday that I was going to buy it.

Hadn't spotted that. It's mentioned on skylander scharacter list http://skylanderscharacterlist...illain-variant/ as available from Walmart in the States. I'd guess it'll show up in Asda eventually, but you never know...

Well, ASDA had no Trap Team items whatsoever, only a large DI 2.0 wall and about 4 Swap Force Skylanders. Going to try Game at 1 PM to check if they have any. Krypt KIng and an Undead Trap are my priorities, maybe even the Wii U starter pack if my parents allow it.

By the way, did anyone else notice that the Skylanders club rewards from GAME have changed now?

Got mine from Tesco for £22.50 (10% cheaper) - might be worth ringing their Customer Services and asking which stores near you still show it as in stock.

I went to Tesco Extra today. They had lots of TT figures and traps for sale. I think the only thing that they didn't have were the the two adventure packs (I would have liked to have seen the Nightmare Express pack). I'm buying the game at a later date but I decided to buy a Fizzy Frenzy Pop Fizz because he is one of the characters that I wanted and he works with previous games.

I hate you guys.

The biggest store locally, an ASDA had almost NOTHING.
They admitted they got a massive delivery in but hadn't put it out. Not only had they not put it out but they couldn't even find the boxes in the warehouse.

Not a SINGLE Trap was to be had. Useless. Local Sainsburys stopped doing Skylanders, local Tesco stopped doing all Toys. These are massive stores too!

Looks like several hours of driving ahead to find anything.

Pyrofer - I've found over the years that around us, unless they're specialist videogame retailers (ie:GAME, 'cause they're pretty much the only one left of the high street...) then you're lucky if Tesco, ASDA etc. have anything at all :/

Didn't stop me double checking, but my local supermarkets had nothing, and TRU had nothing on the shelves that I didn't have already / wanted. All the traps that GR linked to earlier in the topic certainly weren't on display, and asking employees - the majority of whom are utterly clueless - is usually a fruitless exercise.

It's experiences like this that remind me why high streets are dead and online shopping is taking over.

The big chains came in and killed the high street, then moaned about the internet. Now if you don't have an online shop you are dead too.

It's sad. The experience of a day out shopping with the kids, taking a stroll down the high street is gone forever. It's not that the Asda/Tesco/Sainsburys near me are small, they are all large stores but just don't stock Skylanders. Maybe it says something about the franchise!

It also showed me how bad Nintendo are doing. WiiU is now no longer sold in shops. No games, no hardware, no accessories. Poor Nintendo.

Same detail - our Tesco and ASDA are huge. In fact, our Tesco still has BOGOF on SWAP Force figures, and pre order cards for Trap Team! I suspect it's more because they're not on the ball with release dates for games and don't have anyone keeping am eye on it.

The annoying thing this game with online shopping is that traps are grouped by element - unlike TRU where you can choose a sculpt.

I don't know why my Tesco didn't have Trap Masters at all, when they had everything else. It wasn't even like I was late to the party as it was 6.30am and asides from a couple of things gone, the shelves were full.

Sainsbury's had them for the full £14.99, but I'd sooner give the money to them than to GAME.

Speaking of GAME, I was successful there - I ended up getting the 3DS version of the game for £10 (£55 originally, minus £33 for trading in two 3DS games on price match, so £32 + £1, minus £10 for trading a portal, minus £2 of reward points from the Dark Edition), as well as the Lob-Star I was missing. The only disappointment thus far for the 3DS one is that it uses the same portal as Swap Force. I think the Swap Force portal is kinda cruddy in design and, had I known, I would have traded it towards my starter pack instead of the Spyro's Adventure 3DS one. Oh well, lesson learned from going completely blind into a game.

Success at my GAME earlier, picked up the Wii U starter pack, Krypt King, Wildfire, Funny Bone and an Undead Trap. Pretty neat score on my part, but it injured my wallet quite badly

Hahahah, yeah, it's been a huge financial blow, especially as I didn't realise we'd have so many figures and all available at launch. Even the money I'd saved for it wasn't quite enough, but I can get by.

I'm holding off buying many of the characters this year, I'll pick them up later in sales and buy one get one free deals. Gone of the days of not being able to find specific figures.

While I remember, did anyone who ordered with Smyths online actually receive a Gearshift? I wont find out till Monday, but I'm pretty doubtful.

I had a pretty good launch day as well.

I had £84 to spend including the starter and i went in twice- once on my own and once with my mum.

I got the 3DS starter pack from smyths which came with Riot Shield Shredder, a battle pack of my choice (i had all of them so i chose the catapult).

Then, i bought Chopper, Full Blast Jet-Vac and the magic minis pack. I didn't have enough for the mini pack so i had to put it back. I got Fist Bump instead because i could afford it.

My mum picked me up and i told her about not getting Gearshift and the £10 off portal trade in. We picked up the portal and drove back. She told the people behind the counters about not getting Gearshift and asking if i could have the portal offer. They re-scanned the starter pack and got me the £10 off. I got the magic mini pack after my mum let me borrow £1. I really enjoyed playing the game and i will hopefully get the Wii U dark edition with Outlaw Brawl And Chain for Christmas.

I've asked at my local store but they can't even tell me if they’ve sold any, so I'm not sure if it's ever been in stock.

I doubt it has. The site is giving me plenty of trouble too, but I don't think it's because they're sold out, but rather they haven't had any stock in. They have probably put up the listing early, but it won't be out for a couple more weeks at least.

+1 on that. I've checked stock using various different postcodes for our old areas of residence and all are out of stock. Coincidence? Perhaps, but more likely is Nroc's speculation - it's just been put up early.

I checked with @ArgosHelpers on twitter. It appears nowhere has got stock yet, so just keep checking the website until they arrive.

Smyths sent me this reply today:

That's a really poor show by Smyths. One second offering it, the next not, then not sending it out and hoping people will forget what freebie is supposed to be coming too or something.

Well I finally received my order today from Smyths and guess what WASNT included...

If you said Gearshift you would be correct.

Already wrote them an angry email asking where it is.

Let's see what they say.

Oh AWESOME. GAME decided to cancel my only order of an Earth Trap and give absolutely no reasons for it. And considering they still have to answer my question about trap molds, this is probably going to take another century to get solved.

...Anyone know a store that could ship internationally before December that doesn't cost an arm and a leg that's not GAME?

My GAME Dark Edition finally arrived today in Northern Ireland. Turns out in Northern Ireland it takes longer for pre orders to deliver as we are overseas from the rest of the UK. I'm happy anyway. Also my tesco had the mirror of mystery pack and no wave 2 or wallops. I just picked up torch, as she looks incredibly great.

Went asda tonight for our weeks shop they had a small display (2.0 is bigger)
They had funny bones & chopper singles.
Loads of mini packs (wow they are really really small)
They only had 2 traps (water & magic)
& nitro & normal krypt plus gusto , wildfire ...

So, both Argos and GAME say they don't have any of the trap triple packs in stock online - how about in store? Anyone tried to pick up trap triple packs from an Argos/GAME in store? Closest stores to me are a train journey away, I'd rather not get there and then find out that they really don't have anything in stock at all like their websites say.

Our local GAME had full stock on launch day. The day after and to this day, they pretty much have nothing. Not sure about Argos. Toys R Us have stock of both triples online

Agree on the traps. Tesco had a good selection of single traps on launch day, looked yesterday and only Water left (around 10).

Amazon.es are doing the adventure packs for 19.95 Euros each...works out at just over £37 delivered for both...pretty good deal.

Last time I ordered it was delivered from Scotland so arrived in a couple of days

I'm still holding out for that 8 trap pack...come on Argos, get the damn thing in stock!
