I have a "broken" boomer that I was thinking about customing. Was there ever a gold or silver variant of him?

yeah someone has one on ebay..http://www.ebay.com/itm/Skylan...200914858025%26..the person is nutz...300 bucks?...its just sprayed silver...anybody with a rattlecan an some green/blue tape to cover the green base can make there own. Yeah i know it says "Special" in the collections. I do have 2 GITD's got 1 with the starter pack, but im not a big fan of these variants..they don't look different in the game. If they where painted with detail like the repaints i see on here then yeah sure, i'd want one.

I was wanting to wait to post these till i got the eye brows an outlines around the eyes...but since my printer tolk a .....well desided not to work anymore. It will be some time till i can print those 3 small things...(!@!?@! ..sorry..Q-Bert flashback....again )

...I don't like the *skeleton horse* but the skylander on it is CooL!

ahhhh.. its not a horse...its an ostrich. And doing the Epic thing i wanted to use the Black Pearl, its the opposite of the white. Idea was in granting the bird a visual power increase, also if they do a Legendary of Fright Rider...im sure the bird would be gold. So i couldn't use that color.(but i could be wrong..the bird could be the dark metallic blue)

Just had to tweek my Whisper Elf a bit.....so she looks like her larger version...lol
Altho i find it a bit odd....the icon in the collections shows her looking like Stealth Elf ..but when you put her on the portal her clothes are purple and hair is a lighter shade of blue.....and in the game her clothes are a brighter shade of purple and her hair is lavender!..almost pink!! Thought about repainting her to match her in-game look...but im not to crazy on the lavender hair ....

Thanks. Wasn't planning on selling it. I'm not that crumby. It just drove me crazy to have it and nothing to do with it. Since chase variants are a pain to find, figured I'd just make my own. Outside of the packaging to go with it, I don't see a difference. Like I said, don't plan on selling them. Be cool to find stone paint to make a stone whirlwind and zook. Wish I had picked up the S2 zoom when I had the chance. Cant find them without paying a fortune.

GBone. What paints and colors did you use on your ignitor? I got a spare of one as well with nothing to do with it. Wouldn't mind making one of my own. May use different colors though

can get stone paint a Lowe's or The home Depot...will have tinker to with it a bit but doing that stone finish could be done.

EDIT: ....never really looked at the stone versions...(never caught my attention)...till just now(goggled it)....that stone look is a dry brush technic...paint the skylander black, (let fully dry) then with very little paint on a bigger brush quickly brush all over...(best to do in layers....(letting each layer dry)...can always add more....kinda hard to take off if....once its on.. lol

Oh and nitendofan92... Dark Fright Rider would be dark blue an silver like Dark Spyro is. Altho a Dark Fright Rider might look rather cool.

And to all those out there...yes i know they can't be add to the new game because its already done...when i painted my Epic Ultra's i didn't know anything about Swap Force, just knew they where doing a second game. Also thought making the stats a +10 increase...was a bit to high till i got my Polar Whirlwind with its +20 Crit Hit increase.
anyways here is 2 more Epic Ultra's..they are the Air Elements ...yeah yeah i know i said 1 of each..but these 2 are my fav in the Air Elements and couldn't deside witch one to do..so i did both of them ...Oh that paint on Jet-Vac's backpack straps an belt is Bronze.



Working on Fright Rider now, and had an extra Chop Chop so im doing him in the Epic Ultra color scheme also...my fav's are Cynder, hex an Fright Rider. But i don't have an extra Cynder an Hex. I might get a Hex to see what she looks like.

A question to the custom painters... Recently i just bought glow in the dark paint.. But before i paint them i have 1 question... If the base color is red will the glow have a redish glow with it or will it become a regular glow in the dark accent?

No...it will golw the color of the GITD paint. With a red base the glow will be just darker. You should have a base coat of white to make the GITD paint glow as bright as it can. Altho they do have GITD paints of different colors out there. One of my fav's...costly but its good GITD paint/powers http://glonation.com/

Thinking about making my own customs. What kind of paint would you guys recommend?

Acrylic paint ....enamel paint sometimes won't dry(they will remain tacky)on this type of plastic they use to make them....And those that say the enamels will ruin your figure....wrong..the paint just won't dry. The figure is fine...works just fine.....looks just fine..but it dosen't like to be touched...lol. Was thing of getting some dull coat, and spraying it to see if that fixes it.

I'm sure buyers would pay handsomely for a Dark blast Zone (that's really dark, not customized to be dark) that has purple fire.

Hmm...I'm thinking of making a custom with my extra Hex. Any suggestions?

Well, I've recently discovered the curiosity of customizing Skylanders, so I kind of went off into an interesting moment where I pretty much got most of my collection thus far customized in the span of a couple of weeks... I currently have only 4 left to work on.
Most of them are just completely random or based off my odd headcannon about how not all the Skylanders (such as the ones someone has, compared to another's) are entirely the same (or, for that matter, look and act exactly like Eon's). I just took whatever ideas and ran with them... Kind of an odd thing to do for me as an Autistic not known for her fine motor skills at times...
Well, that and I managed to do two of the four portals I have floating around the house... >__> Both are from the 3DS versions of the games, and, one did have a rather goofy backstory to it as to how it turned out that way.... Needless to say, attempting to do a DDR themed re-color of a portal is not as easy as one might think it is (added irony, I vowed not to do anything completely rainbow in fashion... oops).

Before I forget, which types of brush-on finish/fixative should I use to keep the paint from peeling off? I was trying to find some earlier today, but couldn't find anything other than the highly flammable (and, rather toxic) polyurethane fixative.
