I find it puzzling the game has not been designed to allow/incorporate updates. More they don't want to do it in my opinion, or they have not figured out how to monetize it. All the Street Fighter games seem to have lots of DLC. I've had updates for games on the Wii/Xbox/PS3... but some console companies do have arcane/restrictive rules and costs on how/what you are allowed to update on your system.

If you could update, You's just need a different code on each chip for a new character and variant.

If Activision were paying attention they'd know in-game-variants will sell a hell of a lot better than ones that don't show changes.

Would not want in-game-variant for most of the glow in the dark ones though.

You cannot update a Wii game. Even Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword which had a game breaking bug couldn't be patched, they ended up releasing a "save file fixer" app due to that. Wii was the lead platform prior to Swap Force (ie: the platform that was ported to the others) so they could develop for the least common denominator capabilities (and I would assume because it was anticipated to be the platform of the greatest number of sales).

Yes, they could patch the WiiU, 360 and PS3 (and even the 3DS, which has seen Mario Kart 7 be patched), but that would make the Wii completely out of the loop for a new figure. They chose consistency between platforms since many fans take their figures over to friends/etc.

It is also why they never patched obvious bugs, like a Lightning Rod's SSA heroic.

My GS friend is doing a "Drawer save" for me on Pumpkin Eye Brawl.

Drawer save= Saving a copy of something I want even without a pre order fee so I don't lose out on a figure.

When I pre-ordered him at GameStop there was a $5 down minimum. So yes this is a fee.
