Would you SHUT UP!? How far will you go to to justify your attitude, Tel? In all seriousness.
If you want my honest opinion, I think Ghost Roaster would be a cool edition to Swap Force, as I'd like to see some of the forgotten 8 reposed. Honestly, I'll be quite pissed if NONE of them make it in Swap Force.
As for a Wow Pow, something having to do with Ectoplasm mode sounds perfect. Especially since Terrafin can teleport, do it quickly, use his miniature sharks while underground, and not have any drawbacks, while Goast Roaster goes into his invincibility mode, takes damage, moves like molasses, and cannot do ANYTHING in that mode. The only plus side is that Goast Roaster can use his move for as long as he has life, where Terrafin has to come up eventually.

In all seriousness… no. Without any real explanation you follow me about, ranting about my ‘attitude’ and how ‘egotistical’ I am. Seriously, any time I express an opinion, express skepticism or (in this case) offer a little helpful information, you seem to be there to take a poop on my post. Because… you don’t like how I type, I guess? So feel free to ignore me or avoid me or snob me… but if you reply aggressively to my posts, I'm allowed to reply. Quote: MugoUrth
Hmmm… I didn’t really consider teleporting… mostly because I was in love in the idea of a scythe. But teleporting would work well too. I concede that teleporting might mess with the ‘feel’ they were going for with ectoplasm mode (make it feel like you are a ghost wafting through the battlefield), but as you’ve said, the drawbacks to ectoplasm currently make it next to useless. Perhaps, rather than making it a Wow-pow) SSF could just rebalance the ectoplasm mode to make it more useful. Actually, the more I think about it, even if there was no S2, SSF should definitely balance that aspect of Ghost Roaster to make both paths more viable and fun. I think that the biggest problem with teleporting in Skylanders is just that it doesn’t work that great. I mean, Sunburn teleports… but only a very short distance. I guess you could get a pointer to aim (like Bouncer’s missiles) but that would take too long in the middle of battle. If there was a teleport, how do you imagine it being used (controller wise)? If you figured out the control side, you could combine our ideas: An attack that teleports to a foe and then GR scythes them. Annnnnnnnnnnnd now I’m in love with the idea of a teleporting scythe attack. |

Actually, yes you DO have to, jerk. It's the fact that when you "express skepticism," you usually treat people like idiots when doing so instead of simply expressing it, at least from some of the posts I've seen. Even your first post in this topic did this, as it implied you thought the guy was wrong for wanting Ghost Roaster in Swap Force because he didn't have him. And if I'm getting the wrong idea, then well I'm sorry but that is what your posts often suggest. |

*Deep sigh* I'm not going to apologise for having strong opinions or arguing in their favor, but I vary rarely mean to treat people like idiots (accept in the "Who needs nerfed" thread... because really). For example, My first post in this thread was in no way intended to imply that Windumup was an idiot. And I'll note that Windumup didn't take it that way. The first post said “Repose him because I don’t have him” and my post was intended to highlight that one person’s personal collection isn’t a great basis for the creation of an S2/S3 character. And that’s how Windumup took it, because he replied and elaborated by pointing out that the figure was hard to find for everyone, not just him. See? A perfectly happy exchange: Windumup made a statement, I posted a tongue-in-cheek rebuttal, he clarified and I conceded (and then offered advice on where to find him). Everyone’s happy except for you, who for some reason finds me infuriating. Sorry I’m long winded and have a tendency to use too many words. That’s just how I roll. Annnnnnnnnyway, back to Ghost Roaster. |

Well honestly, I don't want to have to buy him online. I'd rather have him in Swap Force so he's easier to access for people, that and he's a cool character who deserves to be stronger than he is. Going to a pawn shop and finding a S1 figure for five bucks (which is how I found Ghost Roaster myself) is NOT going to make him any stronger. Nor is it going to make people remember him, as having him in Swap Force.
I think the Ectoplasm mode is fine as it is. It's not that hard to press two buttons at a time. Unless that conflicts with the controls of Skylanders. In that case, why not press the button to activate it and re-press it to deactivate it. |

Something that bugs me is that they are already making more figures for Japan, so it couldn't be that much harder to reissue the SSA Darklight Crypt package in the rest of the world. On one hand GR for SSF or Sky4 would be neat, but I think that a reissue of the SSA pack would be good for the people who are also interested in the location/items (the time twister is great for Heroics).
Given that other SSA packs have started to show up again, I consider the lack of Darklight Crypt at retail to be a ill omen (but YMMV). Not sure he's desperate for a power boost (he's already pretty kick-ass), but I agree that it would be nice to see his new Swapforce look represented in toy form and given his unique nature his wow-pow could be pretty imaginative. |

I think the biggest problem I have with no unreposed 8 is that, in all honesty, a lot of the unreposed 8 were actually some of more well designed characters from SSA. This is debatable, but I felt that, especially in the case of Boomer, Ghost Roaster, Voodood, Warnado, and Wham-Shell (Dino-Rang and Sunburn were safe designs and I feel Camo was slightly beat out by Zook in terms of originality) that the character was arguably the coolest, most creative design from SSA. And that's one of the main reasons I and a lot of people want to see them reposed, not just because they are "Forgotten 8." None of the new Giants characters even come close for me. (Actually, I felt some of the Giants characters were pretty poorly designed. I notice a lot of people seem to think so too.)

I'm sorry if I was rude, but I don't consider being insulted to be funny. So no, it really wasn't uncalled for. Frankly, as much as I want to see Ghost Roaster in Swap Force, I wouldn't be surprised if NONE of the forgotten 8 got reposed. |

As much as I want to believe it, we have yet to see any real concrete proof that Warnado is getting reposed. Just a site that mentions a SSF Lightcore Warnado with a SSA Warnado picture. Where's the actual proof that Warnado's getting reposed for SSF?

I think it would also help if he wasn't sold in an Adventure Pack that is released late in the life-span of the game. (Like the first time around.)

I thought that Darklight and Pirate Seas came out in wave one of SSA? (I'm outside the US, forgive me if I'm wrong.)
My understanding is that the Pirate Pack sold heaps better, so it was reprinted a billion times while the Crypt vanished from view. (Interesting side note: The location items for Dragon's Peak and Empire of Ice were the only figures not created by TFB. That's why their items are less detailed than the ship/crypt models and don't reflect in the game's world. I mean, look at the ice/dragon pieces - unlike the ship/crypt, they lack detail and look (frankly) a little sloppy. But I digress.) It's a shame, because that Darklight pack is awesome. Both power-ups are great, the Darklight level is awesome, the crypt toy looks neat and obviously Mr Roaster is a lot of fun to play. A thought for another thread: I'd love to see S2 versions of some items - like Sparks and the loot chest. I feel like people are missing out a little on the extra gameplay they add. As for the actual question (which I've somehow managed to avoid despite writing half a novel), I think his sales would depend on the pose - I know that might sound like I'm stating the obvious, but in this case I think the pose is all important. They would need to make him look a little more friendly and a little less... like he wants to take your soul. Assuming he's backwards compatible, SSA/Giants fans would buy him to use in the previous games, but to sell to the kids and soccer moms, I believe that he would need to look quite a bit more... Casper. So here's a sort of related, question: One of Ghost Roster's attributes is that his look is one of the 'rougher' and less cartoony designs. Is it worth getting a repose if the new version looks more 'kiddie' friendly? |

Hmmm... I don't suppose why not. I kind of liked his tough, evil look, but I can imagine a friendlier looks still working out okay.

I like the evil look too... but Skylanders biggest market is a lot younger than we are. A repose might lose that, but at least people would be able to use it in the older games. (Side note: Has anyone actually confirmed that SSF S2/S3 figures are compatible with the old portal and old games) |
