No but i'd love to see alot of these ideas in the next skylanders game it would be nice if they took are advise. Especially changable weapons i love that idea so when you putyour firure on the portal he has a choice of weapons you could use one at a time or if they could give us like 5 weapons and let them hold 1 or 2 in each hand.

To be totally honest, I have zero doubt that the only reason a sequel has yet to be announced is that it would impact sales of the current product. The first one is selling well, the figures are flying off shelves, the franchise has infiltrated pop culture, and to top it all off, it was a holiday craze. There is literally no possible way that this is the only Skylanders game.

How many skylander games do you think they could pull off?

Also does activison own the right to this patient? And will or can other gaming companies start making games like this?
I would love to see a few other games go like a figure warping way like a mortal kombat or street fighter those type games on a portal type thing that would be awsome. And it's taylor made for a pokemon game.

I can not see them taking 3 years to make the next game...They have everything they need to make a sequel. Need some new stages and voice acting.
They already have the nuts and bolts and technology working now...
I would think late 2012 could have a new 3Ds game and 2013 a new Skylander game.

The part that will be weird is when will the new systems be coming out....Wii-U, Xbox 720 ect....
That could slow things down!

Today the salesperson in a games shop said the the Wii U will come out March/April this year. Now, I don't think it will be that soon and will more likely be Q3 of 2012.

Supposedly the XBox 720 and PS4 (or whatever they end up being called) will be announced in the 2012 E3 event and will be available in mid-Q3 2013.

Given the relatively modest requirements for the game, I don't think that they will wait for the new M$ or Sony consoles but may well wait for Wii U? I don't know if Wii U will have a better online play experience?

I'm thinking on buying the ps vita.

Still don't know if it's woth the money don't want the same thing that happened to the 3ds with the massive price drop.

anyone else thinking or is buying one? Would love any input.

Like others, I doubt it will. Having said that, Activision also stated that if this game sells well enough, they'd consider bringing out a new Spyro game as well. There's a number of factors involved, but I'm sure we'll hear about Skylanders 2 soon enough.

Very good point.

I wonder if this game series will be like LoS in it's continuity, you know, the usual three games, one in 2011, one in 2012, and a final one in 2013. The same with LoS, one in 2006, one in '07, and a final one in '08.

You know what would make another good portal game. A KICK ASS STAR TREK . Imagine that able to beam your characters in and out of the ship"Beam me down scotty" LOL

My dad even thought the "toy to game" thing was pretty cool. He liked how the color of the portal aligned with the toy's "element" and how it interacted with the toy.

I could see Ripto making an appearance as Kaos' brother/half brother or something to avenge his defeat.

This is very wrong. Skylanders is just one game. Activision is behind so many games that even if Skylanders DID do poorly, they'd have basically every other part of their franchise to fall back on. (Remember, Activision is behind the Call of Duty games, and Most of the Guitar Hero series to name a few)

What's interesting to me is how many things they have that are extra (as in, the expansion packs) which means they're sort of testing the waters for DLC. I think a future game could build upon this, improve gameplay as well as introduce new features and better connectivity not only for online gameplay, but also the Universe online. Plus, there's a bunch of things they can fix like having a unified money system between characters and more upgrades not to mention introducing new characters and whatnot.

Given that Skylanders has combined parts of TLoS series, I'd say it's not out of the ordinary to expect something like familiar faces from previous games, either as NPCs or characters. I was pondering last night some of my favorites:

Hunter could work well, possibly as a Earth Element character; Sheila as a Earth Element character too; Sargent Bird as a Air Skylander, Bentley as a Water Skylander, and Agent 9 as a Tech Skylander. If not, all could work well as NPCs.

Personally, I had enough of Ripto back in the day. Instead of reusing old enemies we've already faced, I'd like them to make brand new ones. Obviously, the Troll species seems to be pretty bad in the Skylander Universe, who's to say there's not a "Boss Troll" or something that runs them all. (Although, if they did want to reuse old bosses, Gnastly Gnorc would work perfectly in there)
