The difference between this project and Skylanders haters is that this is a positive thing and, frankly, if it's not something you guys are interested in, why the heck are so many of you commenting? It's not like I'm posting everywhere demanding that everybody like Elora. I'm simply gathering her fans together to see if we can't get something done. I know the realities of this project far better than any of you who are wasting your time whining about it (and yes, you guys are whining). Do I care that it's not a sure thing? No I don't. I still think it's worthwhile to do and so do dozens of people on this site and off it.

Frankly, I don't know what the point is behind the comments complaining that this won't work. It's not going to sway anyone in support of this project and it's not a very wise use of your time. If you don't like the idea, stop wasting everyone's time, including your own, by whining about it. That's not what this post is for and I'm rather disgusted by the people who insist on slapping those of us who at least want to try around. Your apathy is vile and not appreciated here.

Again, I'm simply speaking my thoughts about this. Is that such a trivial thing? It was ok for me to do it everywhere else. But not here?

The thing about your negative thoughts here is that you're basically telling all of us who are trying this out to just be apathetic and give up. An opinion about things is fine and it's cool if you think this won't work, but the people who are undertaking this project don't need to hear that. We already know what you've said and don't need it repeated. The trouble is, your comment is like a good half of the comments on this thread already. It kind of makes me hate this place just a little more since, apparently, ignoring a project like this or spending time saying some positive to the participants is too hard. You wouldn't say these things if we were all gathered outside Toys for Bob with signs, so why say it here?

For the record, I have contacted one of the TfB staffers and have asked for their mailing address to send the package. Just because most of this forum is comprised of apathetic people doesn't mean I'm going to stop. I've got dozens of comments expressing a desire to see Elora come back, poll data that overwhelmingly wants to see her back, and several people who are making art and writing stories for this project as I type. The only place where there's been such a pointlessly negative backlash is here.

In short, everything negative has been said already and I'm sick of seeing it repeated. It wastes your time and mine and pretty much just makes me think less of those people who leave such comments. If there's one thing I despise, it's apathy, and some of you guys are oozing it out every pore. It's disgusting.

The main reason I think this project has a chance, is because, unlike other similar efforts where the fans are jerks to the developers, this is much more welcoming for a developer to see, and the fact that people are drawing up Skylander Elora designs and mailing them as part of this will even help the developers, if the developers decide to put her in.

So, unlike other requests, the fans aren't simply demanding things from the developers - they're asking politely, and are even willing to lend a hand if their request is accepted.

I'm not trying to dictate what you guys do. Again, just stating an opinion. It may have been said before, but that's still not my opinion. That's their's.

Yes, I would say these things if we were gathered outside TFB with signs. My opinion would still stand regardless where we were.

Again, it was never a problem for me to say something negative or against the popular opinion anywhere else. But now that I say something here, I need to keep my mouth shut, and I'm full of apathy.

It's just for the people who are trying to contribute to the project. You don't think it's gonna work? Great. Have your opinion. But this isn't the place to discuss that. This is here for those who want to contribute and try to help out. To actually try and do something. You've already made your point that you think it won't work.

BOT, if anyone wants to contribute anything to this project (videos, art, or even just a nice comment) just let me know. And if anyone could spread this around places like SpyroForum, the Activision Spyro forums, or anywhere else you know of that has Spyro or Elora fans, that would be a big help.

It's better than just wishing for her to be in the game I guess. I'd love to see Bianca personally, but I don't think it stands a chance.

Since Cynder is in Skylanders, I definitely think that she is an over-rated character indeedy.

Cynder was always an overrated character, I always thought.
That's one of the many reasons I was just so disappointed when she (and not Elora or some other good character who hasn't had their time) got in Skylanders.

Well, if SSA becomes a success, maybe the next batch of characters could be a "throwback or classic" adventure pack. Throw in Elora, Hunter, Bianca, Sheila, and even Sgt. Bird, and that would really cheer up classic fans and new SSA fans alike, if executed properly.

But the season hasn't even started yet so we'll just see what will happen.

That's mostly what I'm hoping for. An adventure pack with some classic characters besides Cynder (who isn't even classic, but who was added as a very shrewd business move). Elora tends to get ignored when other classic characters wind up in things, though, so this will hopefully let them know that she has fans, too.

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to make sure y'all saw this. I've replaced my original opening post for this topic with the following:

Elora the faun was last seen as a cameo at the end of Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon (Oct. 23, 2000) for the PS1. In the ten years since, while many other beloved classic Spyro characters have reappeared in the franchise, she has not. Over the course of this decade, Elora has remained a fondly-remembered character within the Spyro fan community despite her absence in the series proper. We would like to see this spunky, helpful, unique character return in future games and are doing what we can as fans to make it happen. If you would like to support our cause, please see below for more information.

Our Goal:
We want to see Elora the faun return to the Spyro franchise in any capacity, be it as a playable character, an NPC (non-player character), a cameo, or in any other form. Whether she appears in Skylanders, an expansion pack, in a future game, or just as advertising, we will be happy just to see our favorite faun back in action.

Our Plan:
After the release of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure on October 16, Razz will gather together all of the artwork, comments, and anything else related positively to Elora and Skylanders. A physical package containing all of this material will be put together and sent to Toys for Bob and/or any member of the current Spyro production team who is interested along with a letter explaining our goal.

* draw fan art of Skylanders Elora or Elora having fun with her Skylanders friends
* leave a comment where Razz can see it about how you'd like to see Elora return to the franchise

* leave a suggestion for other ways people can contribute to this project
* post this entry or a link to it on your favorite forum or website where other Spyro fans gather

It helps that Graham is the executive producer of Skylanders, but Cynder is also in it because Mike is a smart business man and he is fully aware that she was the most/only popular thing about LoS. Putting her in Skylanders was a shrewd business move on his part and had nothing to do with fan requests (especially since nobody that I've ever heard of ever asked for her, sent an e-mail asking for her, or even made any petitions). Even if they had, by the time the game was first revealed, Cynder was already a character in the game, we just didn't know it until now.

If we let the Spyro team know that we want other classic characters in a more personal, positive way (by sending polite letters on real paper, etc.), there's a chance we'll see more than just Cynder in the future.

I think this is a wonderful idea. I totally love Elora, and it would be awesome to see her again. I really hope this works. I also think it's cool for Razz to step up and suggest this. Way to go!

What else do you need to know about her? I can link you to all the cutscenes she was in (which don't take long to watch) or probably tell you anything you might want to know.

She seems to be the smart one out of the Avalar bunch and is your guide in RR, giving you the Guidebook, advice, and taking you to new portals if you've missed anything. She's friendly and optimistic most of the time, though isn't above being bluntly honest with friends like Hunter or panicking a bit when people like Ripto turn up still alive when she doesn't expect it. On top of all that, she's quite nice, going so far as to set up a little rest for Spyro before she ran off to try and fix more of the mess Ripto made, and giving him a kiss at the end of the game.

I voted "You bet!" on the poll, because if Cynder could get into Skylanders, why shouldn't Elora, or any other classic character?

I find all this character designs and backstory interesting, I mean I had looked up all the other characters expect Hunter, Cynder and Elora's origins but I can cross Elora off my list.

So me and my bro were on the Skylanders website, he didn't belive that Spyro was even in the game. After scrolling though the characters, and seeing Cynder, he said "What gives? Where's Elora?!" I was exepcting him to say Hunter. But he said Elora! So, Im guessing I have an Elora Fan-boy on my hands.

Not only do I want Elora back, but I also want to see a return of Sheila, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley and Agent 9. All five character's personality, story and game-play development had so much potential, but the companies never gave the characters a chance.

They could be great for Skylanders, especially since they have some moves they can do. Although not sure what elements they'd be.

Agreed. Ember is a lot like Amy Rose, isn't she?
Although I'm personally a bit of a fan of her.

However, I haven't played any of the GBA Spyro games such as SoI, SoF and Adventure, so I don't know whether they've had development in those titles or not. But even if they did had development, they still only had a major appearance and role in one console/cannon game (except for Sgt. Byrd and Bentley, but they got screwed up in AHT and I don't consider AHT to be cannon anyway).

Going on the subject about Elora, I do believe she deserves to be in Skylanders. Much more than Cynder-sue. I can see her element being Magic.

I played SoI and SoF (mostly SoF), and I don't think Shelia or Agent 9 had much development in them. They were just characters to play around with (mostly jumping), nothing exactly special.
Agreed about AHT, I didn't like Bentley or Sgt. Byrd at all in it. Bentley appeared once then disappeared, too.

to be honest, do expect elora to come back. She was supposed to be in alot of games but got scrapped.
She was suppossed to be in enter the dragon fly, but was cut.
She was supposed to be in season of ice and season of flame but was cut from both.
So...
Maybe ask mrhoix who is making a pretty good looking spyro fan game to bring her back. Maybe you can voice her. (if your a her.)

ccrogers15: As far as all my research shows, Elora was never going to be in EtD, SoI, or SoF. She was, however, going to be in Attack of the Rhynocs but the dev team ran out of time. Her only other game appearance outside of her YotD cameo was as a trading card in Spyro Orange.

But, as mentioned several times above, just because she hasn't been in a game since YotD doesn't mean she can't be. Our goal is to at least ask and see what happens.

Have you got a link to the fan game? In all the years I've been in this fandom, I've seen dozens started but not a single one ever got off the ground.

Jackson117: There's not really any talk about their relationship in the games, but Elora kisses him at the end of RR, they ride the love boat together in the epilogue (and he misses his chance), and Elora could be construed as flirting with him at the end of YotD.

Is it really that important for some people to see a tiny reference to a past Spyro game that tells us "Activision's thinking about us"? And not just with Elora. I was surprised at the response when MB showed up in the game and everyone got excited. And then they realized it wasn't actually him, and people were "disappointed". ... ...Really? Does it really mean THAT much to you? Does the difference in the name really make all that big a difference? say his name was still MB, would it really make everyone that much happier? To me it doesn't matter. And it's not that I don't love the characters of the old game. I just don't see a real reason for them to come back.

So what's the reason why you want them to appear? Nostalgia? Or do you just want some acknowledgement out of Activision?
