Fine then, to compete the game normally you don't need anything but Spyro. I doubt they'd add whole levels... Just like, a door that can only be opened by a certain character that goes to a small room with extra gold or something ETC...

If that is all why get the characters? Based on the history of Activision, they will try to make every last one a must have item to the greatest extent possible. (Meaning you can finish the game, but you will miss a lot without all the characters)

Well, we can't tell at the moment... The only thing that would annoy me is if the toys cost a ridiculous amount of money. I mean, come on Activision, there are 31 other toys to collect and you can make any more and add them to the game whenever you feel like it, you've got the next few years planned out... You only need to sell them for about £3, but no... They'll probably sell them for £10 each...

Exactly, and in the end that's who it's aimed at... But the people who actually would buy it are the 12-18 year olds who used to play the original Spyro games...

I have never had such a turnaround of emotion before, I was so excited when I saw the news, then when I read it I felt ready to cry..lol.

I hope someday activison sells the rights and lets someone else give it a try.

I'm just so dissapointed-- I don't think I can explain how dissapointed I am. If they wanted to get the fans excited about old characters returning, they would have done that within the trailer, but from the looks of it, Spyro's the only familiar face. And he doesn't even look.. Intelligent. He looks like he's not a talker. And I mean, Sparx isn't there!? That's PART of Spyro for crying out loud! And all of those random characters don't interest me in the least.. This just doesn't feel like Spyro. What have they done?

I know Darby, it almost feels like an insult. I cant speak for everyone but I dont want to have to buy toys to play a game. I would feel like a real weirdo.(being an adult)

The important person is the player, the characters are just there tools.

This isn't even a Spyro game, from how it looks. Spyro's just thrown in there.

Kinda like SSB, just a collection of chars to make a game.

Yeah! Spyro's the ONLY Spyro character in the game! When I heard there was going to be 30 characters in the game, I thought they meant 30 Spyro characters. not just 30 random characters that look like hybrids of monsters/animals :/

.....Spyro is a KIDS franchise though. I'm all for people not liking it, but you really should realise it's not aimed at adults.

Although I don't get why being an adult would stop you - Loads of adults would still buy toys for a game anyway.

That is because they dumped the fans of previous game, who are the ones that currently care. Positive will not come till the new fans arrive, and they will be Skylander fans rather than Spyro fans.

So, since Spyro appears to just be thrown in there for marketing purposes I'm going to get and enjoy the game as a GAME. Not get and enjoy he game as a SPYRO game.

Besides. I'm looking forward to the toys so I can paint and customise them even more >

Seriously Spyro's not even the main character. Pathetic, RIP Spyro.

The makers revealed them to us :3

On the gameplay side, it looks solid....not as good as TLoS or the Classics, but good all the same.

On the mythology/story side....it's clear that Spyro is on the title for extra attention. I doubt the story will have a huge focus put on it. The characters also look generic.

I know people said TLoS had Spyro pointlessly added, but there WERE a significant amount of similarities between the Classics and TLoS. Classic fans seem to deny it, but they were as easy to find as a glitch in Sonic 06.

If they make this a one-shot spin-off, supply regular toys, provide DLC, and provide a level maker(and possibly a story maker), then that would have me sold.

At least TLoS was based off of Spyro, and focused around him. I think that they could have easily made this game without Spyro and sold it, but they just added Spyro to the title because there've been so many people waiting for a Spyro game, they decided it'd sell better. >.>
I'm not liking the looks of this. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I wouldnt mind if this was a spinoff, it's the thought that this is what we're stuck with that bothers me.

Well, i'm not one to usually judge something before I play it(I gave naughty bear a try after reviews were out) but I think i'll pass here.

I enjoy the idea but will feel extremely childish buying this.

The trailer looks fun. And from what I understand, each character has a tagged "element" that lets you access new things. So no, you don't need all 32 to play the game to it's fullest. If the logo means anything you should only need eight.

From the game play itself, the design doesn't look too bad, especially as most of the time we'd be seeing his back. Still, it could change... You never know...

Spyro doesn't even look like a teen, nor adult.

He looks the size of DotD Spyro IMO, mainly because of the big proportions.

I like the look of the new Spyro game and I sort of get what your saying. In the trailer of the demo it looks like when Spyro is put on the portal you can hear a animalistic/roaring sound coming out?Is that meant to be part of Spyro's voice?I don't know.Slightly confused.Just have to wait and See..
