Speaking of disappointing, they nerfed Spike into the ground. What used to easily be the hardest boss in spyro 3 became a total joke. His AI is terrible and he spends most of his time just standing around doing nothing. He also feels smaller, but it could just be weird camera angles. It really sucks because even after all the **** spike put me through as a child, he's still one of my favorite bosses. Now he's just a joke. At least he looks cool...

So I’m at Town Square right now. Alvar’s full cutscene is hilarious. Also there’s very clever Ratchet & Clank reference here. But as soon as I saw it, I knew what it was.

I guess they wanted to balance the difficulty a little. It wouldn't really be fair to have the second boss of four to be the hardest, would it?

They nerfed Bombo/Bob the Flagkeeper's challenge as well as because I can swear he was throwing a lot more bombs at Spyro in the original.

I just spent maybe 10 minutes looking at the visuals in Dark Hollow. It just looks THAT good! Not to mention that’s one of my most anticipated levels in this game. Toys for Bob outdid themselves here!

I mean, I guess, but it just feels super lame in comparison. I can't see myself, or really most people, having any form of challenge against him now.

For those that were wondering: I can now confirm that the "Perfect" Skillpoints for the Bosses in Spyro 1, only count for not getting hit by the Boss themselves, not the entire boss level.

I can also sadly report that the color cheats and the powerups don't blend with each other. The Powerups are a completely new skin, rather then something that overlays on Spyro, so it just overwrites the color cheat.

(Though, there is a glitch, where you can overwrite the powerup skin but inputing the cheat after getting the powerup, but any particle effects from the powerup remain for as long as the Powerup runs. So you can just have Spyro trotting around with shiny pink sparkles dancing around his head if you want, lol!)

I can now report: The Spyro 2 103 lives Trick/Easter Egg that happens when you get the boss skillpoints while already having 99 lives, isn't in Reignited.

Not too surprised, since it was so, so, so obscure... But I wasn't going to put it past them to be evil enough to have made THAT the key to the Artisans door or something without trying XP

Also, of interesting note: Unlike in the OG game, if you bump into Crush's protective force field, it voids the skillpont in Reignited, even though it still doesn't hurt you at all smilie

Nope, it's not just you. They made Gulp a LOT more aggressive and faster, especially with the cannon shots.

It now kinda forces you to frequently get closer to Gulp to avoid getting hit. Like, having to swerve in an arc more towards him, since just charging along the rim no longer outruns the canon blasts, and having to charge at and under him when he charges at you, since he'll actually pursue and home in on you if you try and run away from him.

So I’m still playing through Spyro 1. I’m playing it very slowly to soak in all the nostalgia. Just arrived at Beast Makers, and it’s hands down my favorite home world redesign. I don’t even have to see Dream Weavers to make this call. Toys for Bob totally outdid themselves here. Going to play through all the other Beast Maker worlds later on. I can’t wait to see how they look!

I wish they included a photo mode in this game. But the PS4 ability to take screenshots is okay.

You can easy get the perfect skill point with no problem once you unlock the final permanent powerup

I'm watching EZScape do some speedrun routing in Spyro 2 Reignited (ironic as I have been practicing speedrunning OG Spyro 2), and he discovered that Spyro can actually jump in mid-air for a brief moment out of a charge. It can be used to get extra distance from your jumps.

Just seems kinda odd, seeing as they have about 3 or 4 fairy models they could have pulled from to recolor, with the Spyro 1 fairies, and Zoe's friends from from the Spyro 2 cutsene.

Maybe Sanzaru wasn't given access to those assets...?

so they reused sander's chicken dance on another baby dragon and ba'ah wasn't in a sheep disguise, p disappointed in that

i dunno i hate the baby dragons, also for some reason the cool sunglasses are now regular glasses

why do the pandas have glasses too like they look hideous

i really liked spyro 1 and 2 and i like 3 too but it's the weakest one surprisingly just cuz it obviously isn't finished, so many glitches and unfinished things

i dont like to complain about it so much but these are just some of my negative thoughts

So I found an out of bounds glitch in the Artisans world, and it allowed me to fly under the map and look under what's hidden behind the mysterious new door in Artisans.

I do have a video recorded but there's not much you can see from under it so this screenshot will do.


If they are planning to use this for DLC, it doesn't look like they've put any indication of what it is inside the room. It's just an empty room right now, but it does have a floor (you can't see it from this angle because of culling), and it does have walls and a roof.

What are your guys' thoughts on the over-the-shoulder Bentley and almost first-person Agent 9 changes for their respective gameplay styles? Personally, I thought it was a GREAT idea to make them even more different from each other, especially Bentley. His gameplay is a lot cooler now. As for Sgt. Byrd, MAN is his control GREAT! I enjoy playing him a LOT more here than I ever did in the original game. What did you guys think of all this?

So there’s all the talk about the Artisans door...

But what about Gnasty’s Loot? In the concept art there’s another crystal dragon behind the portrait. I tried everything to see if it was there in game but had no luck... It may just be in the art...

Don't forget that you can interact with Spyro in the loading screens now, so you can move him around, make him breathe fire, barrell roll, so I guess they tried to make it up with that? But I do miss the gems as well, but it's not a big deal. Also noticed that the "Adventure Continues..." screen, he doesn't fly back across to the top left corner like in the first game.

And another minor thing I miss is that when you complete an orb challenge in a speedway, you used to get a screen telling you that a secret orb is awarded, and I found that satisfying, now when you complete it, it just automatically loads the level and you're back into it when you don't want to be because you've already completed it. So that's kinda weird.

If you get the infinite superflame power up in Dragon Shires, make sure the game is saved by exiting the level. Create a new save file, the infinite superflame carries over into a new game. It did that in the original too!

I just did Zephyr and...yeah, not a fan of them completely ruining the Romeo & Juliet side quest. I'm enjoying the game mechanics wise (as well as breaking it), but the writing reeks of homogenisation. Spyro 2 is well known for having adult humour and I feel taking that away ruins a lot of what gave it it's identity.

They also completely ruined the bone dance, instead of that beautiful soul singer, it's now some weird auto-tuned chipmunk BS with air horns. And the dance itself is just not good and overly simplistic compared to the original.

I tried that but it didn't work. I suppose you need to reload the level then.
