I just sent in my Skylander, Sandblock! Just think of Ryu from Street Fighter if he was a mummy made of sand. He can punch, shoot out hot sand balls and become a spinning tornado that can knock enemies back. I hope you like him!

I noticed a lot of people seem to making their Skylanders on some sort of computer programme. Do you mind if I ask what it is? I never thought of making characters that way before!

I mean, I drew this in Photoshop using a Wacom Cintiq

You have a Cintiq? ;-;

But yeah, photoshop,paint,GIMP, Paint Tool SAI, they all probably work just as well. It takes a looong time to learn to draw by mouse though, having a graphics tablet is good to translate what you already do in paper once you get the hang of it.

Yep! Bought it several months ago. Only seems to want to work at school... Need to figure that out

I'll be drawing my favorite fan character, Flailstone. Unlike everyone else around here though, I'll be hand drawing it then scanning it in. The pictures do honestly come out better like that in my opinion. With my artistic skills, I dunno. I'll post him on here after I submit him the contest.

There's something I just noticed with the contest rules: It states that winners should allow 8-10 weeks after notification for delivery of the prize (a little longer for the grand prize winner). I don't expect judging to take two months, and with that in mind, the winner could get the game weeks before release! Not sure whether to be excited or downhearted, because if I win, then I'll be able to play the game before anyone else, but then I can't buy new Skylanders until the official release...I'm not likely to win anyway, so why doe it matter?

I just sketched up my design and I have a full skill "tree" for it too that I will send along, with multiple angles and shots of my skylander in action. I just hope the name isn't "violent" because it has the word "Slay" in it, but it makes the pun work so well. May send in an alternative name too incase.

I'll probably draw it digitally later in the week, but the on paper sketches are so ba those will be sent too.

Deep down, I want to try and submit some drawings of my character Space Saver, but I'm worried the fact he's inspired by the Yehats from Star Control might disqualify it. I'm too afraid to make a bulky character for this contest. I do have a few good designs though. My OCs Lockjaw and Dream Weaver (Since Dream CATCHER's already used) might make decent candidates, and I can definitely see Dream Weaver being a Skylander.

My character is inspired be teddy fear from monster legends but I'm still going to turn it in. Most scary teddy bears look similar anyway.

Still, another thing I notice is that most people use GIMP, Photoshop and other programs, yet I only have pencil and paper, plus MS Paint, so I might be at a disadvantage. That just means I'll have to work extra hard.

When are they announcing the contest winners, does anyone know?

No word on that, besides the contest ending on June 17th. The winner(s) will be notified within 6 months after the contest.

Uhhh so in December...?
I thought they were supposed to Input this stuff into Imaginators.

Don't worry, they'll let us know a few months before release, that much I'm sure of. Any longer past that and they'll be having stocking issues.

I drew mine by hand. I used a led pencil, coloring pencil and paper.

Tis' my proudest creation with a rainbow overdose.

I actually like this design.
I've always been a fan of rainbow/multicolor energy attacks, especially when depicted as the strongest type of energy blast. Those wings are about the perfect kind of multicolored mess.
As long as I can create a half light/half dark color scheme for a dragon (anthropomorphic or otherwise) in game, I'm golden though.
I love transcendent wings too
(Half angel-half demonic or fallen angel)
But as long as a black and white scheme can be created, I'm good.

And some young kids are already posting stolen art as their entries, and it's even worse that it's being featured on the official website without the original artist's permission. I believe it's best to let SkylandersGame know that there will be children and users who will use dishonest methods to try and get their "characters" in the game.

On one hand, if someone wins with pilfered art, they win without effort, on the other hand, if they pilfer a really cool design, it boosts the chances of that design making it into the game... Hmm... A stranger I'll never meet winning something they don't deserve that wouldn't end up in my hands anyway, in exchange for a design I won't hate making the cut... Sounds like a fair trade to me!

Sounds like you don't get they'll also win money and figures for stuff someone else made.

This really bugs me. I don't know what is more annoying - the fact I can't enter or that someone who has cheated could win.

I kinda want to submit a drawing to here and my dA just to laugh at idiots stealing it but getting disqualified on the spot since I'm brazilian.

Though they probably stole Sub Scribe, Space Opera and others from there already, I'm sure some kids are that desperate and stupid.

After looking at some of the designs there, I have almost no hope that I'll win. What does a golem that has a flail as a hand and another large hand he uses for smashing stand against whatever else is on the page? We already have four golems.
