Activision swerves their way around common sense yet again.

It's like how they decided to stop manufacturing original Sky Racing Action Packs due to having almost a lot of Sky Trophies. Because of its Legendary counterpart pack, they choose to have the original Astroblast and Sun Runner in singles instead to avoid having duplicate Sky Trophies.

I've been wondering the same. It could either be just the color or perhaps some sort of enhancement ( on the stats side probably).

For some reason every variant has had an engine that is a different color, but this one has a normal Supercharger engine. Is this really an official pic? With Legendaries having gold engines and MT Dive Clops having a green base, as well as SP Smash Hit, you'd figure this variant would have a different color base too.

Hopefully, his Rift Engine pedestal will be festively-colored like Eggcited Thrillipede's cocoon grenades.

Aquamarine or a purple-ish pink would look good on his base.

Pretty sure that just means they are in the system as assorted instead of each character or vehicle name. Single items can share the same number and be called assorted.

No, it's "assortment" like "Wave 3" comes in an assortment. It will be a case of "Power Blue" Drivers that will have (I presume) half Triggs and half Splat, and a case of vehicles that (again, I presume) will be half/half of the vehicles.

Yeah, that makes more sense now. Either way I'm excited to see Eggcited Thrillipede in game.

I think his flying is him being carried by Butterflies.

Don't expect something awesome, they will never take the efford to do that... :/

Figure stats on other superchargers in-game variants are boosted, so power blues probably will be, too.

I know Trigger Happy has been around for a long time but I'm very excited for his figure and vehicle release!!! I'm hoping we see the land racing pack here sooner than later!!!!!

But Cobalt, Ultramarine and Lapis Lazuli sound awesome in comparison and refer to nearly the same color :I Especially the first, which is also easy to remember.

I'm not too sure how I feel about him, he isn't really all they colorful. They should of at least added a little more color to his body, his face and grenades are the only things colored. He would definitely look better with a pink/purple kind of base for sure.

Yeah i think they should have added some color to his jacket at least. And i to like the metallic lavender paint idea you did for the base 4inCreation....might paint my own to match when i get it.

I agree but I think by now it's pretty clear they want to be as extreme and cool as possible.
Those are wonderful names, but are pretty "weak" compared to some like Eggcited, Hurricane, Double Dare, Super Shot and so on (like the game's name itself).

I guess it's all part of a certain fantasy...

YAY for it not being some rare variant. I just hope I can get a Splat without a vehicle. I want a Blue Splat for Sky 6 and I haven't touched SC in months. I just don't care for the racing stuff at all.

Has anyone figured out WHY they are blue? They don't scream summer nor Easter to me. Typically these things has a special seasonal reason when they are not store exclusives. Or perhaps they are like the Jade releases from a few years back, I don't think they were special to any store, right?

Jades had a theme to do with the Skylander - Flashwing is made of gemstones, jade eastern dragons are a thing I think. Blue fits Splat for being one of her old designs but not sure what else,much less the vehicles.

I know but I hate waiting and it takes so long to release them anywhere else. I wouldn't mind if it popped up on their website the day it became available

I hope the blue parts on the toys are like Blue Bash. I hope Trigger Happy and his Vehicle are released and not just Splat first. This year they almost always released the Alt Deco before the regular versions.

It's kind of silly to be mad about TRU getting "early access" to most new releases on Skylanders stuff. TRU is the only retailer that has demonstrated a willingness to routinely shelve a large stock of Skylanders from older series. The other retailers (especially Target and Wal-Mart) have not allowed their display space for toys-to-life to expand even though they now also carry Infinity, Lego, and Amiibo figures ... which essentially squishes the Skylanders display area down to about 1/4 of what it was three years ago.

I am sure that TRU pays Activision for the "early access" agreement, and I'm sure Activision requires that TRU maintains large Skylanders displays as part of that agreement. I'm also sure TRU passes that cost on to the consumer by pricing their Skylanders slightly higher than other retailers. This works for TRU because it allows them to corner the market on those who (like many of us on this forum) tend to purchase newly released stuff quickly.

Honestly, it's a win-win-win for everybody, despite the slightly higher-than-usual retail price. Activision gets extra money from TRU for the early access, TRU gets a larger share of the Skylanders market and recoups (at least some of) the money they paid Activision for the special access, and the consumer then knows where to shop if you want to avoid small retail displays and infrequent/low-priority shelf refreshment (as is often found at Target/Wal-Mart/Best Buy). It sucks if you live in a remote location that is not nearby a TRU brick-and-mortar store, but you could always consider befriending a Skylanders fan who does live near one.

I agree with BahamutBreaker. TRU charges a premium, but if you want to consistently find them first (with only a few very rare exceptions), you go to TRU. They do have frequent sales, but I look at it like this: I can spend a dollar or two more, or I can wait much longer for Best Buy/Gamestop/Target to *maybe* get them in and put them out. It's a crap shoot since Activision insists on keeping everything a mystery, so at getting at least a little consistency is nice. If you are going to collect Skylanders, TRU is definitely the way to go for anything after Wave 1/2. If you aren't collecting or that picky, the premium might not be worth it.

And just for the record, judging from history there is NO way I would roll the dice on Wave 4. It is always short stocked. And if you want to hold out for multi-packs, well good luck with that in the US.

Had Spring Ahead Dive Bomber and Eggcited Thrillipede pre-ordered at Amazon, and I just got e-mails saying they are going to be in stock on Feb 7 (this Sunday) and should arrive by Feb 10.

Three weeks before Toys R Us seems pretty unusual.
