Yeah, a few people have done it. I think they somehow got in on their computer and managed to up the quality. I'm not sure how it works, but it makes it feel like a whole new game.

they know absolutely nothing about fish. the show is just some ****ty ass reality tv show piece of crap and it's stupid and fake. they give people the absolute WRONG IDEA of how to care for fish. they overstock the tanks deliberately for show and the excess fish have to be taken out and shipped back which is so stressful on them and so pointless. considering the fact a lot of these fish are marine fish that were taken from the ocean, it's horrible because the stress can literally kill them so once they die more of them have to be fished from the ocean. overstocking the tanks like that make people watching it think it's ok when it absolutely is not.

their stocking choices are absolutely horrible and they sometimes make tanks that are so small that no species of fish can even be put in it. i remember seeing an episode where they put 12 goldfish in like this 5 gallon baby bottle or something. they also usually mix random fish together based on their names and how they look without ever actually researching if they're compatible.

there's also this horrible thing which is also mostly 5 gallons with goldfish in them. goldfish cannot be kept in ****ing 5 gallons. like i said, they give people the idea that this is ok. also, drum set. why.
this is another favorite. what is the point oh jesus. it doesn't ****ing matter if it's specially made glass/acrylic or whatever they can still hear it/feel it. i remember seeing an episode with a 200 gallon snowglobe thing that had a ****ton of goldfish in it and i was so mad. most of them were comet goldfish. you know how many comet goldfish can be put in 200 gallons? 3-4. no more. they mixed fancy goldfish in with the comets which you SHOULD NOT DO unless you actually plan on hand feeding them or be very involved with feeding sessions because the comets are much faster.

they NEVER ONCE MENTION CYCLING and that is one of the worst things about this show. they give people the idea that you can just throw fish in the tank immediately without any drawbacks which you can't. that's also why most of the fish die within the first few weeks after the tanks are set up. they DO use seeded filters and stuff i believe but the bacteria cannot take the bioload because of how badly they overstock the tanks and that's why the cycle crashes. most of the tanks they make are sold on ebay or something.

this is a really not organized thing but i'm actually ranting i hate this show and their tanks look like **** and it's all fake everything is fake everything is a horrible idea and no one should take tips from this show but they do

I feel bad that I didn't know about any of that... :/ I just assumed they knew what they were doing (to the average person who knows pretty much nothing about marine biology, that's what they make it sound like). I didn't take any tips from the show (thankfully) and I did think that the tanks usually looked pretty crowded but I didn't know it was that bad.

Thanks for letting me know about all of that. That's complete bull****. It all sounds like it should be basic knowledge (and if not then it should be easy to research) so it's ridiculous how they can be THAT ignorant about fish breeds and overstocking, or lazy about RESEARCHING what types and how many fish they can put in a tank together. Well, that or they know and just don't care and just want to make it look cool for the sake of the reality show. That makes me sad because they seem like nice guys

To be fair, a lot of shows on Animal Planet are very little about actual real animal care. I remember a biologist ****talking Steven Irwin wannabes because they stress the animal just for a better shot repeatedly. I really just watch to look at them because I know most of the stuff is reruns from 2011 at the most,but that's my country's version; I'd never support the newer shows if they think that kind of stuff is okay in this decade.
