A Twitter account named @SpyroTheDragon has been taken over/acquired by Activision as recently as February 2018. I really can't describe it, so I'll let the sleuths on Twitter take over:
"@SpyroTheDragon account is now protected and changed its name to "FALCON McBob".
Acti has a voice over project in the works with the codename "FALCON".
And the email behind the account is an Activision email. "

Also something that's interesting is that they filed Project Falcon with the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) at around the same time, or slightly before the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which means the Spyro remakes may very well have been in production since early-to-mid 2015.
