I don't mind people choosing genders, or such among the lines. So I don't mind that.

I have no problem with it, I support it. I'm bisexual, not transgender, but I have a friend who is transgender.

I'm all for equality. I'm not, however, up for transgenders making a big deal out of the fact that they are one and shoving it up our faces. So to recap:
Equality? Yes
People shoving it up our faces that they are different? No

I think they deserve rights. We should all just be happy the way we are c: Gender doesn't really matter, it doesn't change you. And if people choose to be transgender, that's okay (as long as they don't do it just to be 'cool' and 'different') That's who they want to be and it's their choice.

Although I have nothing against them, I feel really uncomfortable against them if they haven't changed gender.

It just creeps me out a little. But by all means, give them equal rights.

Hope no one takes any offence by this post.~

It doesn't affect me personally so I don't see any reason to be up in arms about it, nor do I see why other people insist on throwing hissyfits while quoting an outdated book or calling it unnatural.

Though I do not understand how someone can feel like the wrong gender. I don't actively think of my gender most of the time and I'm doubtful that much would change if I was female. So pardon my ignorance.

There's a really long argument about the whole idea of "feeling the wrong gender." The reasoning is heavily based in psychology and not something I really know too much about it. As for transgender rights, it doesn't have a direct influence on my life at the moment, so I don't have a problem with it. <.<;

perfectly okay. we are all born with the rights to ourselves, but often do others think it is okay to govern our identities, take away them, and disrespect.

I don't completely understand it or know anyone who's trans, but what good reason would I have for being against them? If they wanna be who they believe they're supposed to be, and that would make them happy, then there's no problem. We need more happy people who feel they got rights.

They are just as good as everyone else. No religion or anything else should get in this way. Its there choice and if they wanna be the opposite gender then they should be able to choose to be a masculine or femenine.

I'm totally OK with it.

Though I kind of think the concept of a "gender" is pointless at this point. I don't see why people can't like things without some sort of label being placed on them, or dress a certain way without being labelled for it, etc. Someone's "gender" doesn't define them at all, and I personally don't identify with a gender. I'm of male sex, and have no desire to change that, but in terms of my gender, I don't even think about it, I just do whatever I want and if someone has a problem with it, that's their business. I can think of a few people who'd call me girly or a sissy for liking Kirby, and for being able to call something cute or adorable, but I really couldn't care, as gender labels mean nothing to me.

Besides, there's no point worrying about people calling me girly and insulting me for showing "feminine" traits at times, when I've blatantly got a feminine ass, and people IRL and online have both mentioned it. :I

i know dose bois r jus thirsty 4 my juicy ass, fite me bout it

"Gender role" and "biological gender" don't mean the same thing. You gender role is a part of your social identity, which means you can perceive yourself as a member of a gender other than your real, biological gender. This is basically what transsexualism is. It's true, it's there and it can happen. No reason not to accept it.
What also makes it an interesting subject of discussion is that, like many things, it's simply a quirk of human nature. As in, it serves no real biological meaning.

It doesn't really matter to me. I think it's very ignorant and condescending of anybody to judge a group of people simply because of some trait that they share, so you could say that I'm "for" transgender rights even if I don't actively back them up.

Edit: Also, why is a topic like this on Stuff and Nonsense?

I guess it's because most people visit here as opposed to Idle Chatter.

May also have something to do with the fact that wakapro is a mod of this section, so if things got out of hand in this topic, they'd be able to control it directly.

The way I see it, you were born the way you were born for a reason. I agree that everyone should have equal rights, but I don't agree with people changing their gender. I've seen commercials for like those drag race competitions or hear about pregnant men on the news... It's very strange to me.

Thank you AvatarDragon.

To add to that: What right do people have to mess with God's perfect design?
Let's think about this for a second, God made you a woman, He gave you mostly the DNA of a woman, your body functions like a woman, yet you somehow got it in your head that you're not happy with yourself. Whatever happen to taking every thought captive and testing it with The Word???

God says: I love you just the way I made you.
The thought/your imperfect feelings says: I'm supposed to be different than how you made me. You made a mistake.

How can we accept that? How can we accept the lie that God made a mistake. God never makes mistakes. He never once said: "Oopps, that was supposed to be a man... Oh well..."
No, He always says: "You're going to be a man. And your sister is going to be a woman. I knitted both of you just the way I wanted in your mother's womb."

So if someone is born without an arm or loses one in a crash does that mean they are "messing with gods perfect design"?. Besides, DON'T judge something you don't understand.

Unforseen to man or to "God"?

Besides, if we are all part of a divine plan, why are you worried? That would mean that everything that happens is supposed to happen.
I mean, it's a pretty crappy plan if just any one human being could come along and **** it up by changing his/her gender or doing something else God doesn't "accept", right?

So chill, let human's be humans. If god wanted us not to bite the damn apple he woulda created us that way.

To man! God knows all.

His divine plan was NEVER to turn penises into vaginas or to have men wear dresses. He knew people would do that, but that's not His plan for us as His creation.

God wanted us to have free will so we can choose to love Him not so men can choose to be women or women to be men.

If you ask "Why free will?" read the previous sentence.
