Here is all the information we know so far...
Within October 2010, the game was leaked out. Tom Bromhead is set to voice a character in the upcoming game, but who he will voice remains unknown. His list of his latest voice works included the test title, Spyro's Kingdom, but he removed it shortly after fans have emailed him. It is unknown is this was Activision's doing, or the voice actor's. There was evidence of Spyro's Kingdom being in an Adventure Pack and Starter Pack on a site named completeepos, but Activision removed them off the list of their upcoming and recently released games. Screenshot: http://i28.photobucket.com/alb...ingdomproof.jpg Another mentioning of the next game is on the LinkedIn profile of Delphine Pham. Between June 2009 - Present (1 year and 8 months), she had worked with Activision on the planning, creation and management of international web projects for AAA titles, including Spyro. http://www.linkedin.com/in/delphinepham Recently, the supposed release date of Spyro's Kingdom has been revealed in the updated Dutch Game Spreadsheet: September 30, 2011. It is unknown if this release date will change due to development time or remain the same. Spreadsheet: http://212.123.29.37/publicfol...%20Week%205.xls More evidence has been discovered in a few LinkedIn profiles. Two workers at Activision, Mike Parseghian and Alan Wong, had also worked on the next Spyro game. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/mike-parseghian/5/b75/6a9 and http://cn.linkedin.com/pub/alan-wong/15/1B8/60[/url] Recently, Mike Pareseghian has deleted evidence of Spyro from resume, leaving only his mentioning of Call of Duty.

But these 3 consoles were available only from a web page. Can of course be a huge mistake is often something that stores it for a console and it lists only one mistake. Since there are quite a few examples. Edit: I hope its Nintendo exclusive, like Sonic Colours. Thus, the game will only get better.

Here's an Idea I posted recently on the old topic
Oh yeah, remember that quote a while back saying this new Toy Fair game would incorperate internet games and toys? Well, internet could be used in the form of DLC, Games fits because it is a game, but toys? Anyone care to hazard a guess as to how a toy could be incorperated into a Spyro game, or any game for that matter? The first things that come to my mind are 1)a game based off a toy, 2) Something like the Toy Box in Toy Story 3, and 3)little figurine peripherals that you use to summon additional items or creatures to help you on your way/give you abilities. How does that work? You buy a toy which looks like the creature/thing you're getting and it comes with a code. You then input the code into the game or a DLC website, and you are then given the thing/creature in the game. I was thinking that if idea 3 is the case, it could explain the adventure and starter packs. The starter pack would have a few figures wich give you basic upgrades (ie. secondary magic items* to increase breath power, projectile upgrades, etc) And the adventure pack would have those plus other things, like a flight unlockable or something. Also, my brother thinks the game that will appear at Toy Fair will be the new Lego MMO. Kinda makes sence as it incorperates games, internet and toys, and is family friendly/for kids. Thoughts?

Or in the adventure and starter packs are cards like Pokemon or YugiOh (That is only available for the Wii not the DS...How do we know so far....)

Me too. Every time we come across new info, I'm all giddy for a while, then it dies down and I'm wanting more.
Buuutbutbut, we'll get an announcement soon enough. I'm sure there's some more info somewhere out there on the internet, but we just can't find it. I mean, we'll either find it very soon (by digging through the internet ) or waiting and it'll come to us within an announcement given straight to us. Heh, the ideal way would be an announcement, just so we don't have to waste our time! Just wish it'd hurry up! But if we wait, there'll be an announcement either at that Toy Fair, Comic Con, E3, or something like that.. I'm just extremely curious since those images were found. So Toys For Bob.. That's the official developer, is it? |

Hell I hope it IS Spyro at toy fair even if it is stupid kiddish. I just want some bloody official info!
Also, my brother raised an interesting (and valid IMO) point: Spyro (i'm sorry to say) simply isn't popular enough for a whole line of toys to be made around the franchise and still turn ANY profit, unless they're miniscule and really cheaply made but even then not so much. Also, though a little figurine might be kinda fun and nice to look at, you gotta realize, it probably wouldn't be worth it. The reason? First it'd be EXPENSIVE! If you want to really expand on your game you'd have to spend money on the toys as well as the game. And assuming my pack theory is true, the Adventure pack would be way more expensive than the Starter. Also, if they spent all that money making toys, it'd leave less money to put towards the game itself, meaning a poorer quality game (no pun intended). Finally, what if you NEED the toys for a full game experience? Like, you don't just need some to go to some hidden places or perform super fancy stunts or whatever, but you need them to get from point to point so you can reach the end and beat the boss.

That's what makes me suspicious, too. I've never seen a professional concept artist put fan art up on their page. If that was the case, it doesn't exactly bode well for the work ethic at Toys for Bob (it kind of looks unprofessional).

I have a really hard time taking this "Activision conspiracy" thing seriously. I mean, it's Spyro. I just don't see why they're trying so hard to hide this stuff (especially when it's so painfully obvious that their attempts just make it worse). Of course, this is Activision and good business sense isn't really one of the company's strong points... :/

Because Activision doesn't care about any of their franchises other than Call of Duty. Note that they could have several games in development right now, but the only game they openly talked about is Modern Warfare 3. And there's a slight chance they might not even be the company to publish it. |

I think the only reason people think that is because they've become known by Spyro fans to delete any information about Spyro that we've found, and say they can't comment on Spyro at the moment.

Activision is still seen as the bad guy in the games industry. It's what EA used to be way back when, right down to the CEO who wants to suck all the joy out of making games. They may or may not continue this trend and the Spyro franchise might not survive it, but who knows? It'd be kind of nice to see the rights for Spyro go to someone else, but Activision is Universal's gaming department and Universal looooves holding onto its properties (even when doing so is running them into the ground).

@Razz I did some research. The only positions above Activision is Activision Blizzard and Vivendi. Universal is owned by Vivendi, and Universal is only in film and music nowadays.
Quote: Darby
Then why when other games come out AV barely talks about it, and instead continues to hype Black Ops? Tony Hawk Shred and Singularity are perfect examples of games that AV forgot. Quote: Hero of Legend
That would be a crying shame. At least E3 is viewable by TV. They should allow the public to see the toy fair one way or another. Quote: Aura24
The last time they paid any attention to Guitar Hero was with World Tour, which came out almost 3 years ago. Since then, they never talked about the games. I wasn't until 2 weeks after it came out did I know Warriors of Rock was in stores. Why? Because all I saw was Black Ops, Black Ops, and more Black Ops. I get it. Black Ops is coming out in a month. I know already. I'm getting the game. Shut up about it. |

Activision's first Spyro game (under that name) was DotD. It's a little weird and complicated, but Activision is basically just a publishing house. They contract franchises out to developers like EL and Insomniac, then distribute the finished product. They started out as Universal Interactive, then became Vivendi Universal Games (VUG), then became Sierra Interactive, and most recently merged with Blizzard to become Activision, but it's still the same company that Spyro started out with back in 1998.
