I didn't like how they changed Hunter in later games of the original Spyro either. I didn't like the fact that they changed up any of the main characters personalities (And in the cases of many dragons, their collor.)

As for the one TLOS, I consider him a totally different Hunter. Different cheeta, same name.

Lol, I loved that Agent 9 gag XD He said he shot the dog "in the butt a couple of times" :P That was just lulz.

And yes, you are right. He actually says that at the beginning of the challenge, and then the curse comes true in the epilogue.

Yes, the poem starts off nice, and then ends randomly. That was in Spooky Swamp I believe.

My fav is when you say 'no' to open the bridge in Crystal Islands. When he says "You better not anger a magician, Spyro. I jut might decide to turn you into a blue hedgehog or something..."
