I started this last year for Superchargers and was around the time of the first leak. So what will it be? Since I think it's going to be a space gimmick purple would be ideal.

Purple. Skylanders Academy's logo is purple.

Even if its figures have no transparent bases and the title of the game itself rembles more Giants' colors, the color is given away by the bottom of the packages.

Do you mean that the packs' background color for those two couple of games is too similar?
Well, yes but consider that despite that Trap Team's titular color is red which has nothing to do with SA's colors (light blue and green).

I agree, purple would be a nice change after SuperChargers orange-ish.

Anyway, here's what I'd like to see for the bases. (Yeah, I know, the pink is probably never gonna happen.)

Teal is gross. Either purple, or a darker green, says I.

By the Academy's logo and the element-colors rule, purple looks the most probable.

On the base of superchargers package it is yellow. Trap team had red hence matching the red bases.

Purple and yellow are my bets. I know SuperChargers had yellow, but if they go back to the basics, they still have yet to do a normal base with yellow. I think SC is an exception.

Even though I consider myself a purist when it comes to bases and such I would still prefer if they never added a proper yellow base.

I've forced myself to consider the Rift Engines as "unofficial" yellow bases somehow, creating a whole new set of figures with the same color could make things even more confused.

But I do agree that SuperChargers has been an exception from this point of view and I hope it will never be repeated.

Agree. Hopefully the next game goes more back to its core. With TFB at the helm that's probably very likely.

I think the tv show could reveal some problems to the developers. So that the series is on a good way. If it will come out without gimmicks is another question. Every year the same game (like SSA) with another story, scenario or the same type of core characters would be over time boring, so that one or another experiment would be a wellcome change, but every year is a little bit to much.

I'm thinking purple for Sky6, but it depends on the gimmick.

SA and SWAP Force are so far the only games where the bases and title/pack colors aren't the same.
The first has green bases and blue title/packs while the second has the same colors but inverted.

They are also coincidentally the first games of the series developed by the two teams.

I'm guessing a new base for the gimmick just like in SC and a purple base for the cores if they come back.

The way that the figures did not have colored bases is SuperChargers felt too outlandish for me. I strongly prefer having colored bases, it helps fans differ from game to game more efficiently.

Yeah, it is a little weird. Maybe the colored bases for the Corelanders will come back, but we'll have to wait and see what they do with Sky6.

I had a dream last night the bases were a Navy Blue/Black :S

White (clear) bases belong to the Eon's Elite and aren't tied to specific games.

Not to mention the related Element, Light, already received a themed game with yellow as the titular color... Kinda.

I'm going to go with the majority and say that I think purple would be an awesome color for the box as well as the bases (if they do colored bases again). I actually like it more than yellow, which was the color I thought the Superchargers bases would be.

Also, Giants was the only game where the box and base color were the same (orange), which I thought was a great little touch and made the figures feel more cohesive with the game and packaging. That would be nice if they were to do that again with a purple color, or whichever color they decide to use.

Apparently there is no bases, but I don't believe that. There was a picture of a leaked character, and it had no base, but I'm sure they haven't added a base just yet.

PURPLE BASE, Teal Packaging

I'm hoping for a purple base, and cyan packaging, would kind of clash together.

Getting information from the previous few base and package colors, where Trap Team was blue with red base, and Superchargers was red with yellow packaging base (Because the engine bases were yellow/gold), I have two guesses:

Both packaging and base are purple. We only saw Giants pull off the two things being the same color. However, seeing the other games, it's not very likely compared to my second guess:

Either the base OR packaging is purple. The other color that is most likely to be used is teal or turquoise, as per what some other people say. I find it uncertain that the packaging or the base will be purple given the Skylanders Trap Team logo had red text with the bases while the packaging was all blue, whereas Spyro's Adventure, SWAP Force, and SuperChargers' text matched the packaging color. However, since majority rules, I'm going to believe purple packaging with teal bases are most likely. Oh and I choose teal seeing how the previous two base colors were on the same side of the spectrum.

Therefore, if it's like Giants, purple packs and bases all the way, if it's like all the other games, then purple packs and teal bases.

It's definitely gonna be purple. We've had red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. Purple is the only of the basic 6 colors left.

If they return to colored bases, I'm guessing either purple or yellow. I wouldn't count the Superchargers bases as yellow, despite the packaging being yellow on the bottom. We would need a true yellow bottom. But I also rather liked the engine block bases, it fit the game's theme more so than any passed year. So I would rather more bases that follow that than return to old colored bases.

So no base colour again but Packaging is yet to be revealed

I wouldn't exclude base colors just yet.

Maybe they do have a colored plastic base hidden under the pedestal, we cannot really tell from the images we've got.

But yes, if the bases aren't there I guess packaging will reveal us the titular color.
Doubt the logo gives it away but we actually still don't have a dal blue Water base (I consider SWAP Force's bases to represent Air, since clear bases are Eon's Elite only).

Still hoping for purple, would fit well the whole magical theme.
