Just a heads up, prim on CAG posted that TRU will be having, what I would assume to be, a Skylanders day on 6/14. There will be one day deals (although they aren't known, yet) and the first 50 people will receive a "Skylanders mini". According to prim, it is the first 50 people that go to the electronics section and there is no mention of a purchase that needs to be made, but also noted that it's YMMV on how each store will decide to handle it. It's also unknown which characters these will be. Since there shouldn't be any for Swap Force, I would assume Giants, although I wouldn't be surprised if TRU somehow got a hold of SSA sidekicks.

Either would be great for me. I have all the Giant sidekicks, but our Eye Small broke in half. But I'm also missing some of the SSA sidekicks. I'm sure they will try to do one per family, but I'm sure you can find a way around that, as how would they know you're in the same family if you went separate (or were in different places in line)?

I'm pretty sure there is someone on here that works for TRU that may be able to confirm or find more information.

Here in the netherlands too i've got Thumpling today (here you have to buy one swapper and get a giants sidekick for free)

It's on CAG, in the General forums in the very long (but not much lately) Skylanders thread. The guy is a TRU employee that has provided a lot of previous heads up and is reliable. Unfortunately, what is posted above just about covers everything he said. He said he doesn't have much info on it yet.

I work for TRU aswell. When I got to work this morning my boss mentioned the giveaway to me, but he didn't know much of anything beyond that it was a thing. I'll report back anything else I may find. Sorry I can't give much, but I can confirm this is an actual event, at least.

Yeah, that's the one - I tried to give enough info so that people could find it on there on their own. Most people who are familiar know what CAG is, but I hesitate to link there normally because there are kids on here and that forum is definitely a lot more harsh (I won't say "mature", because that would be a bad term for it) at times on people that post asking questions that have been answered, or don't fit in/seem young/etc. We all know how people on here get the vapors when everyone isn't super polite, and CAG is a shark tank compared to darkspyro. Add in they also allow trades/selling, but it is a wild west, buyer beware environment (there are many reputable people, but they definitely have had some scammers). Put on your big boy pants if you go to CAG, particularly if you plan on posting - but there is a wealth of good gaming info and some fantastic deals to be found.

I wonder if my toys r us will allow me to sit outside its doors before it opens that morning. lmao. Knowing my toys r us, they wont realize they actually have a promotion going on. and itll be like all the other skylanders promotions all over again. for and example, i had to let them know they had lightcore bumble blast that was suppose to be out, 2 manager and 3 employees later, and they found 2 boxes that were marked specifically for that day. they were like "we didnt know we had it" wow. thanks. lmao. buncha idiots. i expect the same with this, if this is true.

Still no info on which Sidekicks these are? It would be nice if they told. I also doubt these are Swap Force ones, but...you just never know these days...

I was told by my TRU manager that they are the Giant sidekicks and possibly SSA kicks, but not new ones we have never seen before (SF).

Prim on CAG posted the email blast. It shows the same info as listed above along with promoting the Legendary Treasure promo where you can win prizes by pre-ordering Trap Team. It also promotes the pre-order of Gear Shift. He also posted pictures of a box of sidekicks. You could clearly see Gill Runt, Thumpling, Eye Small and Barkley. So it's a mixture of SSA & Giants. The email just says it's for the first 50 people to stop by the electronics. It doesn't mention anything about a purchase, so it seems like there is no purchase necessary, though I wouldn't put it past some stores to make it necessary. Luckily, for my store, it's at the electronics department. They did a promotion one time before and the lady in charge was rude and said we had to create a wish list (which wasn't true). So you'll never know.

I have no idea why people are getting Lego or Disney Infinity promos. It would be awesome if they did a Lego event and Skylanders event on the same day, although it would probably be packed and you'd have to decide which line to stand in . But I wouldn't think they would have a Lego event until after the movie's release, unless they're offering some promotion to get people to come back to get it (like a coupon). As for Crystal Agent P, I don't normally keep up with DI, but I'm pretty sure I saw them last week.

I still can't tell if this is a real thing, Toy R Us has posted nothing about it yet!

Lego Movie event at Toys R Us this Saturday is from 12-2 and it is to build a mini Master Builder inspired by Metalbeard. Is the Skylanders mini promo time specific or just once the doors open?

Probably pretty early. I know the first time TRU did a Lego event (at least for the movie) they said people were lined up about an hour before the event. We didn't show up until later because we didn't know they were giving away something free other than the prizes from the drawing (which is what we showed up for). A free Skylander toy (even for a sidekick) will probably be just as popular.

A friend of mine says they got Eye Small, Barkley, Thumpling and Gill Runt. Might be different per store.
Interesting that they're just giving them away. Maybe prompted by the 3DS version of Trap Team having Barkley in there and they're looking to get rid of them/get them in the hands of people?

I know this is a Spyro forum, but my TRU had Crystal Agent P the May 23rd. They got him in that week (Tuesday). I did not buy him at the time, no sale, plus I am waiting for Crystal Mickey and a BOGO sale.

They don't have traps in the 3DS version so I guess they added extra stuff for sidekicks.
