Outcast Camp Reboot [CLOSED]
Lunarz Emerald Sparx Gems: 3463

For centuries the world has been inhabited by 'Outcasts', people who were born with awesome powers, however they are dubbed as 'freaks' by everyone who disapproves of their abilities. These Outcasts have been ridiculed and made fun of for centuries, they were tortured and made fun of and exiled from their homes due to their differences from the majority of the world.
But in the early 16th century a camp was built, a monstrous camp that could fit thousands of Outcasts. It was built by a man known as Deidicus Blair, he created the camp as a safe harbor for all Outcasts to live in peace and happiness, Somewhere the Outcasts could go and get an education and a normal life.
It is now the modern day and the camp still stands strong, people have forgotten about the Outcasts as time went by, and the camp is home to thousands of people. However the camp is run by a dark and mysterious man who does odd and suspicious things, and some of the Outcasts believe he is hiding something.

//RICK! Nice to see you still want to be in the roleplay, you're always accepted into any roleplay I make, bud. The only thing I ask is you put a bit more detail into your posts, it's just that if I'm writing like a paragraph or two and then you reply with a sentence it kind of makes me feel like I shouldn't have put so much effort into mine. I also know you're great at roleplaying so you can more detail easily if you try.//

Name: Michael Foster
Age: 17
Personality: Michael is mostly an introverted person, though some aspects of him contradict this. He doesn’t express much emotion, his face usually having a solemn, serious expression. While he doesn’t like being around a lot of people, his greatest fear is being left alone. Thus, he tends to stay near someone else, and when he’s on his own, it’s in the Camp where he knows there are other people in the vicinity. Perhaps the most significant aspect of Michael’s personality is his silence. He is an elective mute, meaning that he never talks because he chooses not to. This makes things awkward when someone’s trying to have a conversation with him, but most people who know Michael have learned to have sort of “one sided conversations”. He will listen and acknowledge people who are talking to him, but he will never respond verbally.
Appearance: Michael has a pale complexion, as he tends to stay indoors. His eyes are a pale blue while his hair is scruffy and black. He stands at about 5”10 and is a bit skinny in form. As for his apparel, he wears khakis and a black turtleneck with a tan trench coat over top of that.
History: This will be revealed throughout the roleplay. I will say this, however: He doesn’t speak for a reason.
Powers: Michael is an empath. He can feel others’ emotions as if they are his own, and can sometimes pick up on people’s intentions.

//I always love your characters, Wyl! You are most indeed accepted, I've never seen a character like this, it will be very interesting to see how it plays out, and if Michael will ever at some point open up to one of the characters and speak. I'm very intrigued.

I'd like at least one more person before we start, so I'll perhaps shamelessly advertise to some people, or just see if anyone finds this intriguing enough to join.//

The suns rolls high in the sapphire sky on the warm summer day, children and teens are running through the fields of green, welcoming the embrace of the warmth of the large burning ball of gas in the sky. Some of the inhabitants resided in their cabins, sipping upon their tea, some Outcasts lied in the grass, or swam in the lake. It was a magical place, Camp Outcast, full of life and vibrancy, however an aura of darkness loomed deep in the heart of the Camp, inside of a man that had recently taken over as head of the camp. Students of the camp who were still in training rejoiced, for all that was left of the Summer break was soon to come to an end, in more ways than one, the last week of Summer Vacation had started and the new Camp leader had a plan for the Outcasts...

The alarm rang in a boy's cabin, sloppily the boy smashed the 'snooze' button on the alarm, but eventually decided he didn't want to keep hitting it ever few minutes. With great speed the boy jumped out of his bed and got dressed, for a while he stood in front of a mirror, as if staring deep into his own soul. "Today's the day." He said with confidence. "Today's the day, I finally make my move." Triumphant music played in the back of his head, as if to usher in the dawn of a new era. The blonde-haired boy brushed his hair, making sure it was spiked and smooth like a feather. "Today's the day I finally get it right." He smiled, his teeth glistening from the sunlight bouncing off of the mirror. He grinned. "Show time."

He ran out the door, a swagger in his walking movement, he gave every girl he saw a 'what's up, beautiful?' and every guy a subtle nod of acknowledgement. "Today is going to be a good day." With that, he ran off to his destination, a large grassy field located near a small lake, lush trees filled the area, boulders jutted out of the ground to provide seating. He had it in his mind now, that was the place his Grandfather told him he would master it someday, and this was the day he would master, he was almost there.

The almost same exact alarm went off in the brunette's cabin. He groaned, smashing the alarm, then slowly getting up. "Well, today's gonna be fun!" He yelled, because for today, today was the day he started his intense training. He had been training for some time now to unlock all the secret abilities he had been told he would unlock in his lifetime by the past director of camp, and he was ready to start getting those abilities. So far, he'd only discovered he could create balls of energy. Not that impressive. But, today was the day he discovered something new. He hoped it was the ability to control fore or something. Wait, that doesn't really fit with my current abilities.....oh well. a He thought to himself as he got dressed for the day, grabbing his phone with him.

He headed out of his cabin, walking mainly to the sides, going down side streets if he had to. He was normally a pretty shy guy, mainly because of the way he'd been treated by his family, and because of his he felt about his current abilities. Compared to a lot of what he's seen some of the other Outcasts do, he's pretty lame. Well, that's what he told himself. Anyway, he was heading towards a clearing he had discovered a whole ago. It had been perfect, rocks nearby that he could levitate out for trying, trees all around, and he'd get a perfect view of both the sunset and sunrise. The best part, the view of the lake it had. Overall, it was perfect. Little did he know, someone else would be there....

Within the camp grounds, a form was curled up at the base of a large tree. He was relaxing there, gratefully taking advantage of the shade that the tree’s boughs and leaves had to offer. A book was settled in his lap, and his eyes were skimming over the pages of the novel he’d read many times before. His eyes would flick up every now and then to gaze at his surroundings, and then they would settle back onto the print of his book. He could hear his peers’ talking and laugher in the distance, but he did not join them. He simply took comfort in knowing that they were nearby.

Michael sighed softly in contentment, one of the few sounds he ever made. Other than such little noises and the sound of his own breathing, he was completely silent. He wasn’t incapable of speech; he simply preferred not to do so, for reasons of his own. The empath glanced up from his book again, seeing others were up and about, but again, choosing not to go to them. They were probably off to test their abilities and challenge themselves. He could feel their excitement, and it was bringing a smile to his face that wasn’t even really his own, but theirs. Michael sighed again. His abilities were not something that could be practiced in a training ground, but something he had to learn to control himself in every moment of his existence. He banished the smile from his face, replacing it with his nonchalant one. The happiness he felt and picked up from the others was not unpleasant, quite the opposite, in fact. But he couldn’t allow others’ emotions so conduct so easily through him, for not all emotions were pleasant.

Nathan sighed happily as he walked through the camp, going to the main hall forst before heading off to the clearing. He went there every morning for breakfast, like all the students, and was always happy going to the huge library they had there, grabbing a book, and just sitting in one of those nice, chairs and reading the day away. No, not today though, he thought to himself, today I train. With that he headed to the cafeteria the main hall had. It was a pretty big cafeteria, holding many people, and serving a WHOLE LOT of food. The only difference between this one and most other cafeterias in the world outside of the camp, the food was good and the people who worked there were happy to work there. Mainly because they could eat whole they worked. And because they were happy to be giving the outcasts food.

Nathan, like always, just got a huge serving of eggs, bacon, and sausage. As off a drink, he got orange juice. This early on the meaning, none of his friends were awake! and the people in the cafeteria were strangers to him, so he ate lane! enjoying the silence he had. He finished quickly and ran to leave the main hall, ready to begin his training. He knew he'd have to work extra hard during his training today if he wanted to learn anything new today. He ran the entire way to the clearing, almost getting jut by people a few times. "Sorry. Excuse me. I'm so sorry." Was all he was saying during the run.

Shane had reached the spot, the spot his grandfather would take him everyday, he would sit him down on a boulder and tell him 'Shane, one day you will have great powers, perhaps even stronger than the ones I now possess. One day, you will run this camp, and in order to do that, you must master your abilities, unlock the doors in your mind that lead to those powers, I know you can do it." Shane wasn't sure what his full potential was yet, but today was the day, he was going to unleash it.

Silence, there was silence all around him, and that's what he needed at this moment...Silence. Shane closed his eyes and moved his hands around, extending his fingers and wiggling them about, he took a deep breath, ready for his upcoming change. He began to shake, sweat dripped down his forehead, his eyes, opening to reveal there coloration changing from blue to red, his hair flowing in the air that produced no wind, the air was still, he screamed, he had to unlock the doors, but how? "CHANGE!" He screamed, he had shifted before, hundreds of times, but what he was attempting was his greatest transformation yet, a Dragon, if he could accomplish this, he could do anything, but the bigger and stronger the transformation, the more pain it caused and energy it wasted, after a minute of his attempt he fell to his knees, a tear streaming down his face. "Dammit..." He whispered under his breath. A twitch developed in the upper left of his lip, he was angry. Shane stormed off, in the direction of the tree that Michael sat under.

The tree was large and provided much shade, many kids would go there to hide behind it's large trunk and make-out, or sit under it's shady protection on hot days, Shane went there because he liked to use it as a punching bag for his frustrations, frustrations he needed to one day overcome and accept.

Nathan ran into the clearing right as he saw Shane run off to the tree he too liked to sit under and hide from the heat on. "What the?" He said. "Nevermind." He then ran towards the center of the clearing and began to try to channel all his energy throughput his body. He was becoming one with the grass. He was the grass. He has always been the grass. Soon, Nathan felt a tingling sensation, and looked around to see that he was invisible. "Whoah! So cool!" He yelled, instantly turning back to normal again. "Damnit." He said, kicking a nearby rock into the air, and having it sail a mile away. "Well, that was cool." He picked up another rock and through it even farther, reaching the lake that was in the distance. He then looked at his arm. "Am I doing this?" He then looked around. "Whoever's doing thes things, come out here now! I don't want to be tricked into thinking I can do all this stuff!" He yelled. By now, his hair was floating off his head and his hands had purple energy around them. Also his eyes were purple. "That's was weird." He said as the things returned to normal.

There were many disadvantages of being an empath. Feeling others' emotions got downright confusing, at times. There were situations where Michael couldn't even discern his own emotions from that of others. Another unfortunate disadvantage, sadly, was his ability to feel others' pain. Not just mental pain like anger or misery, but physical pain. And that was what he was picking up now.

He flinched instinctively, his temples starting to ache, a pain that spread to every other nerve in his body. Michael squeezed his eyes shut, trying to focus on shutting everything out, trying to will the pain away that he knew was not his. The pain subsided, though he felt it was because it had naturally faded in the original source, not because he had managed to block it out. He shook his head in a small sense of failure. Opening his eyes again, he saw what he presumed to be the original source of the sensations he had picked up; a boy, about his age, who was walking towards him. He closed his book, tilting his head slightly.

((OOC: I'm sorry that my replies are so slow. I'm replying in two roleplays right now and typing longer responses in both.))

//Don't worry about it, take your time.//

Another day of nothing but failure, another day that he let down his grandfather, and his parents. Shane missed his parents, which was odd considering he had never met them nor did he have any memories of them, but his grandfather was his best friend and ever since he had died, Shane was full of anger and hatred, his grandfather wasn't in deteriorating health or bad condition, he was healthy, and Shapeshifters tended to live longer than the average human, it didn't make sense to him that he has passed for no reason, so suddenly.

Finally he reached the tree, he hadn't noticed the boy sitting under it before as he had been too deep in thought. Shane had planned on become some sort of ape, like a Gorilla and punching the tree to let out his frustrations, but he decided against it this time, instead he walked over to the boy of which he had never seen before. He sat down next to him.

"...What are ya reading?"

Nathan sighed as he could no longer become invisible, or even throw a rock as far as he had been. He was really frustrated, wondering how he could go from being an awesome telepathic guy, to being just his regular mind-controlling self. He sighed as he started to head towards the tree he always say under, and was shocked to see tow people under his usual hiding spot. "Awhile are you two?!" He walked the two people before him.

Michael blinked. He could tell that this was the person who had been in pain, but now it seemed to be replaced with.. anger. And disappointment. His eyes flicked over the other boy, trying to find out how he had been hurt, but he could see no physical evidence that he had ever been harmed. Perhaps he had been mistaken..? No. He wasn't wrong when it came to these things. He often found that he had to trust his intuitive feelings over logic; so while logic was telling him that this boy hadn't been hurt, his mind was telling him that this was the one.

He snapped himself out of his mental debate, focusing now on what the other had asked him. Picking up the book he had set neatly down on the grass beside him, Michael handed him the book to read the cover, A Christmas Carol.

Shane hadn't even gotten to introduce himself to this 'book boy' before Nathan had butt in, Shane wasn't very fond of huge groups, but he knew he had to get used to them if he ever wanted to lead the camp. "Hi..." He simply said to Nathan before diverting his eyes back to the book. "A Christmas Carol, eh? Charles Dickens, cool guy." His bland voice was now returning to it's normal sound, a bit more upbeat and friendly. He turned back over to Nathan who was still standing above him. "Y'know, you could sit if you want." Shane wasn't normally so annoyed or rude to people, he was usually friendlier and happier, but knowing he was letting his Grandfather down made him not give a damn. "I'm Shane, and who are you guys?"

Michael nodded a bit in agreement at Shane's remark about the book's author. He diverted his gaze to the new arrival, idly wondering if there was a people magnet around. If any more people came, he'd probably have to make a hasty retreat, but for now, this wasn't bad. He turned his head from Shane to the other then back again, studying their interactions. It was what he did most of the time, seeing as how he didn't actually talk to anybody. So he'd often just study other people and listen to their own conversations, all the while trying to practice keeping their emotions out of his mind. At Shane's inquiry, he was brought out of his thoughts again, and gave a simple wave in response, as if that answered anything.

Shane simply raised an eyebrow at Michael's odd response, perhaps the kid was mute, it wasn't unheard of, Shane had met kids in the camp that were blind, and deaf, but never mute. It was an odd exchange between Shane and Michael, Shane spoke and all Michael did was make movement and gestures. Thankfully Shane knew a way around this.

He began to move his hands around, making different movements with them, it was sign language, he was trying to see if the kid understood it, so he spoke using his hands; 'Do you speak sign language? Do you speak at all? What's your name?' He mimed with his hands, hoping he didn't look like a raving lunatic waving his hands back and forth, even the kids at the camp that knew sorcery didn't wave around this much.

Nathan looked at Shane, curious as to what these two other boys were doing here. This was where he had planned to learn his hidden abilities. He had been planning to do this for weeks, and now these two boys, one who was probably mute, and one who seemed like a crazy man, waving his hands around, have taken this area. "Um, what are you guys doing here?" He asked, then made a following statement. "Not to be rude or anything, just, I was coming here, thinking I would be the only one here, and now you two are here."

Michael had expected the odd look from Shane. It was a look that he’d been given by everyone at one point or another. It was both a question and a realization in the same expression, the question being, ‘Why doesn’t he talk?’ and the realization soon after, ‘He can't talk’. The latter wasn’t entirely true in his case, as he was perfectly able to speak like any other person did. For his own reasons, however, he viewed his situation to be exactly the same: he just couldn't talk.

This he had been expecting. What he had not been expecting was for Shane to try to communicate with him in sign language. The slightest hint of realization managed to seep into his expression, but he turned his head away to hide it. Yes, he knew how to communicate via sign language. Someone had once insisted on teaching him how to, seeing as how he wouldn’t talk to anyone verbally. He had never once used it, though. Michael chose not to communicate for a reason, verbally or otherwise; sign language was no different from regular speech in that regard.

Tilting his head back up to meet Shane’s eyes, he gave him a slightly apologetic look. Yes, he could understand sign language, but he couldn’t speak, in any way, shape, or form. He wouldn’t allow himself to. His look of apology – apologizing for not being able to communicate in a convenient manner – was soon replaced by one of consideration. He had yet to ‘answer’ Shane’s last inquiry; his name. That, at least, was something he knew how to answer in a way he was comfortable with.

Diverting his eyes from Shane’s to look downward, he began fumbling with his coat collar, slipping his hand underneath. When his hand came back in sight, it was grasping something in a loose fist. It was a locket. He raised it over his head to get the necklace string it was attached to from around his neck, and then passed it to Shane. On the back of the locket was an inscription of his name: Michael.

Looking to Nathan, feeling a little bad that he was being left out of the ‘conversation’, decided to answer his earlier inquiry as to what they were doing there. Michael couldn’t answer for Shane, of course, not really knowing what he was doing there with him, but he could answer on his own account. He raised his book, giving it a little wave to signify its importance in his explanation, and then gestured around the tree and the shade it provided. Simply put, he was reading and relaxing under the shade.

Shane could see that the boy didn't want to communicate, or couldn't, he wasn't exactly sure about that, but what he was sure of was that he seemed friendly enough. Shane had no idea of his past, he had never seen the boy around before and was unaware of what powers he possessed, Perhaps he's a telepath....No, he would've communicate through telepathy if he was....Maybe he could control elements, that would be cool. He just wasn't sure, he had to find out more about this boy.

Before he was handed the locket he turned to Nathan, "I'm here because this is where I want to be, I feel peaceful here, I come here to let out my frustrations upon the world...That answer your question?" He didn't mean to sound rude, but this tree had a large significance to Shane, more than he even knew, it was where his grandfather was buried, along with his parents, when his parents died the tree was planted to symbolize new life from death, it grew fast, as most trees around the camp did, some of the Outcasts were Plant communicators, so they could grow trees and plants at fast rates.

When the locket was placed in his hand Shane just stared at it, Cool.... He ran his fingers across the locket, feeling the indentations and the grooves, he took notice of it's shine, it had been well taken care of, it seemed. "Michael, eh? Nice name..." He looked back down at the locket for one more glance before handing it back to the boy. "This was given to you, wasn't it? You keep it as a reminder, yes?" He guessed.

Michael took back his locket as it was offered to him, giving the tiniest of smiles at the compliment. His expression changed slightly at Shane's impression of the locket's importance to him, however, to one of slight surprise. Had it been that obvious?

He looked down at the circular object he held in his hand, curling his fingers around it protectively. Even he could not deny its importance to him, and apparently he could not successfully hide it, either. Holding it close to his chest, Michael raised his head to look at Shane again, his expression once again having slipped back to its solemn gaze. He gave him a small nod in confirmation.

"Heh, I thought so..." Shane smiled lightly at the boy, he wasn't too good at making friends but he was always told he was a leader and that he needed to learn to make friends, so this was a good start.

Shane shifted his eyes swiftly to the right and to the left as if to look around for any camp officials that were around, it was new policy that Outcasts weren't to use their powers for fun, only for training purposes, but it was obvious that the Outcasts weren't going to obey that rule, if they did, what would the ramifications be anyways? "Hey," He paused for a second and grinned. "Wanna see something cool?"

I looked at Shane, immidately knowing he was wondering if the boy wanted to see some use of his powers. "Hey, I think I know how yo communicate with Micahel." I said. "I'm telepathic, so I could talk to him in his mind and we'd get to know what he's thinking. With his permission of course." He added, preparing yo use his telepathy, if it was okay.

//This is really why I wanted more people, so it wouldn't be three people interacting with each other all the time, so I might have to make a new character so Rick can communicate without disrupting other characters conversations (That sounds bad, but its not) Because I want Shane to try and get Michael to open up, that's his new goal.

Name: Asa Standard
Age: 19
Personality: Calm and collected, open-minded to other people's thoughts and ideas. She believes that everyone deserves to have a say in anything they have a say in. She follows this belief herself, but it often puts her in places she really doesn't need to be. She also has a deep interest in outer space and the planets.
Appearance: Very tall, around eight feet, and equally thin. She wears baggy jackets and pants that make her look like a frumpy board lacking curves. She has short, dark brown hair that's always straight and trimmed at the same length. Her eyes and skin tone are dark.
History: She was born and partly raised in the camp.
Powers: She can see the entire spectrum of electromagnetic energy, from radio waves to gamma rays. Light is so intensified to her that she can see in the dark, details from far away, and even far off into space. At times, she can manipulate light and bend it, directing it wherever and even creating illusions. Light doesn't bother her eyes.

(She's a completely new character I made up on the spot, so expect a lot of character tweaking and development along the way)

Though Shane did enjoy using his powers, he didn't like using them for such things such as scaring a person or anything like that. Nathan suggesting using his telepathy to read Michael's mind made him a bit infuriated, if someone wanted to be silent and obviously did not want to speak with someone, that would be the last thing anyone would do...Read their mind, hah! "I'm not sure that would be such a good idea, I'll leave you to your own, Michael, I do hope we meet again, and if you ever want to talk or....Y'know, sit quietly without talking, I'm in cabin 4716." With that Shane got up, his anger subsided for the time being.

"God, this camp has turned to ****, we don't even know who's running it..." Shane kicked a rock into the large, crystal-like lake in the near center of the camp. "It should be me...But of course when my grandfather died I was too young Pah! Nonsense...I could run this place better than anyone, there have been far too many changes, people have less free will, less time to study their powers, we have a curfew now! God damn, what the hell is going on around here?!"

"I know you're upset, Shane," Asa said, who was sitting at the bank of the lake as he walked by, "but cussing at the air isn't going to fix any of this. We need to do something about it, even if we have to demand it" She stood up to her full height, towering over the boy. "Our leader wouldn't have left us in this state if he could stop it. I'm sure that he chose a reasonable heir to help the camp get on its feet in case something like this happened."

Shane and Asa had always been good friends, but recently they had begun to drift apart, ever since his grandfather died and they chose someone else to run the camp Shane was just a loner, it was the way things were, but he was starting to realize he couldn't do things alone anymore. "Asa, You of all people should know that unless the current leader of the camp resigns or passes away, they won't change authority, I'll be stuck as a student here forever."

Shane knew he could do great things with the camp, there were so many rules now, they even employed curfew officers and had begun to deny certain Outcasts entry into the camp. "People just don't take me seriously..."

"I'm not saying that I agree with everything he's doing," Asa replied dryly. "A lot of these rules are unnecessary and only cause more problems. But have you tried to convince them this yet?" she questioned. "I've tried to. Seven times, now. But there'll be a better chance of them listening if you talk to them. You have more authority than meets the eye. This camp respected your grandfather, and they'll respect you." Her tone was flat and emotionless, but the two have known each other long enough to know how the other felt.

Shane shook his head, he had tried to talk to them camp, and they fully supported him, each and every one, all the Outcasts were behind him aswell...But the decision was up to the new Camp runner, nobody knew his real name, they just called him 'The Director' He was cunning and slick, he didn't seem too nice and always seemed very shady and untrustworthy. "Multiple times...The 'Director' He said mockingly, "Doesn't feel like I'm mature enough to run the camp.

It haunted him every night, he dreamed horrible dreams of The Director changing everything that the founder of the camp, Shane's distant relative, Deidicus, had done, everything he fought for, all of the hardships for naught. "And he gives me the chills...Something isn't right about him, haven't you noticed some odd vibe around here? It's like he's planing something...I guess I'm just over reacting..."

Asa nodded slowly, looking down at the lake, then up at the clouds and beyond. "He does seem rather sketchy, but he wouldn't be in this position if Kullin didn't set it up, which I'm sure he did. He was a very wise man," she continued, her tone softening. She was certain that the Director was placed as the leader by Shane's grandfather, as strange as the man might be. Whatever happenings were caused by him must have a better long-term effect.

//Just so you know, The Director is the main antagonist of this Rp, I've yet to make his character sheet, I'll do that soon. It's one whole big conspiracy thing...You'll see, I have it all planned out ;P//

Shane was doubtful, "My grandfather never would have chosen such a man to replace him...I just know it." It was odd, and though Shane never saw the will, he knew that even though he was told that in it it was stated that The Director be secondary in command after Shane, he wouldn't believe it, his grandfather had much better judgement than that.

Almost instantly his emotions seemed to change from depressed to happy. "C'mon, let's for a swim, I'll race ya to the end of the lake and back" Shane was a shapeshifter, meaning he could change to whatever animal he see fit, at this particular moment, he chose a Dolphin.

OOC: Asa just kinda goes with the flow. I like making characters have different viewpoints of a situation but still be able to get along.

"Well, you knew your grandfather better than I did. If you're right, then I wouldn't be surprised." She looked back at the smooth waters, watching fish glide through the currents. "A swim would be nice," she replied, the corners of her mouth lifting up ever so slightly to make a subtle smile.

//Ah, Alright, I see.//

"Well then jump on in! The water's great!" Shane had begun to spin around in the water, splashing his friend with water, laughing as he did so. He loved Asa in the sense that she could always make him feel better, he had no idea how she did it, she didn't even have to say anything, she could just stare at him and he'd get a hold of himself, he thought it was most likely because they knew eachother so well, as Shane could often do the same thing to her.

Asa, tossing her dusty jacket to the side and getting splashed by Shane's newly formed fins, flopped into the water with force, forcing a wave in the boy's face. She was grinning, almost laughing, and sliding under the surface to avoid Shane's splashing, only to to get water up her nose when resurfacing.

"Tell ya what," Cockiness could be heard in his voice, "We both know that I'm gonna win, so why don't you just forfeit and I'll give you a ride around the lake?" He was very confident in the fact that he would win, he wasn't very confrontational or competitive, but he liked to joke around and show his powers off at times.

-----

While the teenagers splashed around in the water, The Director was pacing in his cabin, a smile on his face as he did so, he was dressed in full black attire, he wore sunglasses to conceal his eyes. His cabin was near the main area, the 'downtown' of the camp, which was at least a mile away from where Shana and Asa were playing. "Play in the water, enjoy yourselves whilst you can...Soon a new era will come into fruition....Soon they'll all work for me." His smile turned into a grimace, He took his sunglasses off for a moment to reveal his red eyes, glowing in his dark home.

"NOPE!" Asa splashed Shane a final time before dunking under, flailing forward beneath the surface. She knew that he would get to the other side before her, but she didn't care about that. She wasn't going to forfeit to the shapeshifter's silly cockiness, nope.

"OH! YOU ARE ON!" All of Shane's cares seemed to slip away, he completely forgot about all that had happened to him that morning, all that he could think of was the present, perhaps he should focus more on the future instead of the past, but he just couldn't he was a very complex person, many found him an enigma because he would keep to himself unless he trusted the person and trust was something that truly had to be earned, Asa had earned his trust, he owed her his life, in fact, She had saved him when they were very young. "I'll catch up!" Shifting to an otter, he dove down under the water and began to spin around underneath the water with her, creating very small underwater whirlpools as he did so.

-----

The Director was the opposite of Shane, he was a very enigmatic person who hated others, he was very self-reserved and wanted his way all of the time, no matter what it took to achieve his goals. "What a fool that Kullin was, how could he ever entrust that silly grandson of his as the sole beneficiary of his will, thankfully I took care of that...The Outcasts will soon realize what it was like in the old days, why should they deserve such peace when I was treated with such disgust..." He stormed off, out of his cabin and towards the main office.

Appearance: 6'2", muscular, brown military-styled hair. Red skin tight shirt, black sweatpants, and white socks.
History: Born with a condition that made him a lot stronger than usual. His parents never really paid attention do him because of it, so Junak was often out of the house. He spent his time outside teaching himself parkour, and martial arts. He grew up with his own morals and ethics (which are heroic), and by the time he was 11, he found the camp and had just stayed there.
Powers: Extreme strength in all muscles

Junak viciously woke up from the grass because of a cricket tickling his face. He quickly wiped it off of his face, and sat back leaning against his arms and watching the the beautiful things go on in the camp. In the back of his mind, he felt something wrong. But the feeling didn't bother him at all. He stood up, stretched, and walked over to the cabins. He greeted his waking friends on his way to his room. Junak sat in his desk chair and started organizing his desk, for it was reaching the end of summer break.

Asa could hold her breath slightly longer than the norm, due to her elongated body, so she only needed to resurface a few times. She proceeded to swim deeper and deeper in the lake, not worrying how dark and murky it got thanks to her sight capabilities. These moments were what showed parts of Asa that never would have been revealed in causal talk. Playful, daring, adventurous... she felt that Shane had a bit of those traits, as well.

Shane, of course, being a shapeshifter was able to adapt to his environment aswell, he could hold his breath for quite a while when in his otter form, and he knew that if anything happened under the water, he could just shift into something that could save them, so he was never too worried about anything, life was good, and he hoped that wouldn't change.

A smirk developed on his face and he shifted back to human form, but changing his legs to that of a shark's tail fin, grabbing her hand and swimming with her, he pointed out the beautiful aquatic creatures he saw throughout their journey, as they swam near the lake floor.

//It seems like Shane likes Asa, But I dunno if that's where I want to take his character...Decisions, decisions...Then again, they could just be reeeeally close friends smilie//
