Has he been spotted in the wild/eBay? I've seen some pics of him suggesting he might be showing up, but I haven't seen him. Also, can anyone confirm he shows up as "special" in giants and/or "rare" in swap force?

Still debating obtaining him but I can't be complete chase wise if I don't.

Really? An employee exclusive? Is it kinda like a Darwin award for least productive employee lol?

I stay away from employee exclusives (not spending hundreds), so that answers that.

I've been wondering the same thing. But employee variants are rather annoying. They are just so beyond my reach. I'd never buy one for what people are asking.

Some employees received it in a random fashion first, but it doesn't mean it will stay employee exclusive and not be available to regular collectors eventually.
I confirm to you that he shows up as "Special" in Giants and Swap Force.

As I'm not sure of this, don't get your hopes up, but wasn't the metallic gill grunt exactly the same shade of green as the shroomboom? and wasn't the gill grunt an "employee exclusive at first"? We should be able to assume the shroomboom might be released to the public soon.

Well the additional figure count in game is nice, if they go the Special Gill Grunt route with him I'll get him.
