Hey guys long time no see how have you all been doing I hope that everyone who RP with me are still on here because its been so long DX lol If not Oh well its my fault for not being here T__T anyways Its another RP!! (hopefully this one will last unlike my other ones.....) Yes its an Elder Scroll RP. Before I start I would like to say that I've only been able to play Skyrim so I don't really know about the other games but I kinda want to incorporate their history and all that into the RP (if that makes any sense lol) So please don't get mad if I mess up the lore or whatever but I'll try my best to get it right. But I would also like to note that not everything is strictly lore base. Anyways lets get started!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Story
In the days when the first men came to Tamriel there was a clan of powerful humans known as Starburners. Starburners were known to be one of the most fiercest warriors that ever walked the face of the earth. Ancient magic flows within their blood. Legends say that one Starburner could fight for 40 days and nights without rest. They fought against the elves to claim Tamriel thus shaping it what it is today. For nearly thousands of years Starburners were forgotten lost to history. But they do exist today, Only one Starburner is left today a powerful pyromancer name Flame who studies in the College of Winterhold. But he is also known by the Nords by another name...Dragonborn
Even though the shadows of Alduin return has been adverted by Flame there is a new shadow looming overhead. Something that Flame can not face alone.
Dandre was in the Hall of the Elements, shooting some spells at the orb of Magelight which was his target. He only used apprentice spells while practicing, didn't want to accidentally have someone get caught in the blast of a fireball or an ice storm. Not that he really cared.
Marcurio was in the Arcanium, he was sitting at a table with two stacks of books on it. One was larger than the other, the larger stack were the books that he hadn't read yet. He was determine to get the books read by Fredas of this week.
After a few more minutes of shooting that Magelight with many destruction spells, a few restoration and illusion spells, Dandre lowered his hands and decided that now was a good time for a break. He wanted to go see what Marcurio was up to, he'd been cooped up in that library everyday since Sundas of last week. He walked into the library and scanned the room, it didn't take long to find the Imperial with his nose buried in a book. Dandre walked up to Marcurio. "Hello, dear." He said, putting one hand on the table and leaning in to see Marc's face.
Marcurio set the book down and looked at Dandre. "Oh, hello love."
"You want to take a break and go hunting with me tonight? There are some bandits that I hear need exterminating." Dandre asked.
"Well, I would like to try some things out that I read in some spell books. And I can't let you charge head first into a group of bandits, now can I?" Marcurio asked.
"No, you can't. Just try not to char the flesh up too much, I hate my meat burned." Dandre said.
"Don't let your taste buds take precedence over our lives now. And it's not destruction spells that I want to try, they're conjuration." Marcurio replied.
"Learning from me, I see? I am almost a master of conjuration after all." Dandre said, quite proud of himself.
"You know it. And broadening my horizon isn't hurting me. I like the idea of just summoning a weapon whenever I need it. I don't know how those warriors can stand to carry a twenty pound sword on their backs all the time. Although, I will keep the enchanted Dwarven sword you gave me. I can't part with it." Marcurio said.
Dandre smiled. "Thanks, Marc." He said and kissed him on the cheek.
Assassin: *hisses* Sithis will have your soul mortal!
Flame:.....If that's so then *place his hand against the chest of the assassin* you can tell him to come and get me himself...*launches a fireball spell point blank in the assassin's chest blasting him away killing him instantly*
Myc was sitting out in the cold breeze of north, reading a book of alchemy and writing down notes. The College Of Winterhold was just a minute walk away, so he had no hurry anywhere.
After a while he put the book down and looked up in the sky and let his thoughts wander off.
OOC: Yes.
"Let's go get some rest. We've got a big night ahead of us." Dandre said and stood up straight.
"Alright, reading all day is tiresome." Marcurio said. He closed his book and stood up. He and Dandre walked out of the building together and into the student's quarters. They went into their room which they shared. They only had a single bed, but they were used to sharing a small sleeping space. They laid down together and Dandre cuddled up against Marcurio, holding him and eventually falling asleep.
Lillian pulled her sword from the chest of the man before her and watched his body fall away, blood spilling to the ground. Her heart raced as she caught her breath, looking around the ruins she had stumbled upon accidentally. There had been three of them, who had attacked her on sight, probably for getting too close. She looked to the corpse before her again. Silver Hands. She'd seen them before. When she'd journey with Farkas to Dustman's Cairn to prove her worth to the Companions. What a journey that had been. The memories of it took her breath away. She still couldn't believe what she'd witnessed. Farkas had... well, he'd transformed. Into a werewolf. How could it be? Yet she knew the answer. And it wasn't just Farkas. It was all of the Inner Circle of the Companions. And now they wanted her to join them, to become... a werewolf. It was a honor, to be sure, that they'd think her skilled enough to be a part of their inner circle, but to be a werewolf? She wasn't sure she wanted that. To become a monster at will? She shuddered. Then shuddered more as she finished searching the corpse before her, gaining some gold and several arrows, and rounded the corner, seeing several werewolf heads impaled on poles. What if those were her friends? It had been awhile since she'd last been to Jorrvaskr. Sudden fear flooded her. What if it were Aela? Or Farkas? Suddenly she felt the need to rush back to Jorrvaskr and find out. Without thinking, she turned and fled, heading cross-country to Whiterun, thoughts of werewolves still flooding her mind. What was stopping her from joining the inner circle? She'd gain unstoppable power and strength, a form that was fierce and furious. Yet it was also a beastly form and it seemed so uncontrollable, so brutish. Was it worth it? To become a beast? She glanced over her shoulder at the men she'd just slain. Surely, it would be no different than that. She'd killed because she'd had to, and surely she could do the same as a beast. The thought almost made her laugh. A Khajiit, becoming a werewolf? It seemed so contradictory. But then, so did the thoughts spinning in her head, the ever-raging battle as to whether or not she should join the inner circle and become a werewolf.
Silver: As you wish "Princess" *gets up and leaves*
Dandre woke up right after sunset. He let go of Marc, who was still asleep. He got up and grabbed a nearly empty brown fur pack, he began to fill it with potions, food and full waterskins. He put it on the bed and closed it. "Marc?" He said in a whisper and nudged the man.
"Hmm?" Asked Marcurio as he woke up and propped himself up with his elbow, looking at Dandre.
"It's time to go. I packed your stuff that you might need, it's going to be at least a nights journey." Dandre said.
Marcurio sat up and sat on the edge of the bed. "If we're going to travel all night and not be there until the morning, then why are we going now?" He asked, a bit annoyed.
"So we can stop in Whiterun, rest all day and then head out at night. The bandits are near there." Dandre said.
"Alright, at least we'll rest all day." Marcurio said, standing up.
"Maybe a little something more than resting could happen?" Dandre asked, smiling at him.
"Now, you know how I feel about doing that in an inn, we may be behind closed doors and the bed is actually big enough, but it's not exactly a private place... Everyone heard us last time... Or you." Marcurio said.
Dandre had to stop himself from snickering at the last two things his mate said, he knew they were true.
"We got a complaint about that... The innkeeper complained that her patrons started leaving as soon as the bed started moving and creaking the floorboards. And then the drunk ones left as soon as you started shouting." Marcurio said.
Dandre laughed for a bit. "They'll have to deal with it. It's our room and we can do whatever we want."
"All I know is that I'm keeping my robe on." Marcurio said and put his backpack on.
"There are plenty of things that still can be done either way..." Dandre said in a playful manner and walked out of the room.
Lillian stood before the walls of Whiterun. She'd finally made it. Taking in a deep breath, she let it out contentedly. She remembered what Aela had said when she'd asked her what it meant to be a Companion. The Huntress had said it meant spending more time in Whitrerun than she'd prefer. Lillian smiled. Whiterun didn't seem so bad. To her, it was home. At least, better than any home she'd ever had. Since her time of arriving in Skyrim, she'd visited many of the holds and earned plenty of money through bounties, work through the Companions, and killing any bandits who decided they'd like to kill her for no reason, and looting their bodies. She loved exploring, and didn't mind killing a few people who caused trouble, after trying to reason with them, of course. Bounties almost always assured her of a good time. Though she hated killing, she loved a good challenge, and heading out on such a mission always gave her a good excuse to explore the nearby area. She'd made enough money over the years to buy a house in Whiterun. It wasn't anything much, but it was hers. That and a horse. She'd bought the horse solely for the sake of having a companion while she traveled. Sure, she had the Companions, and any number of friends she'd made in towns like Whiterun, but she preferred to travel alone, especially when fighting would be involved. Having others with her put her at risk. She'd try harder to protect them than herself and couldn't stand the thought of any dying while they were with her, even if they were the more skilled. It was just like with Farkas at Dustmans Cairn. If he would have died when she'd so stupidly pulled that lever and gotten herself stuck, she didn't know what she would have done. Then he'd transformed into a werewolf. He hadn't needed her help after all, but still, she didn't like to travel with anyone, except her horse. Allie, that's what the stableman had called her. And it was a beautiful name and she was a good horse. She didn't ride the horse every time she went out. Sometimes she just needed to run. Like today. The thought, and the memories of Farkas transforming into a werewolf, which once again bombarded her mind, brought back to mind her earlier need for haste and she lunged at the large gate of the city before her, pushing it open.
Myc Had finally caught the butterfly, he noticed a pack of wolves. Myc thought: -a few wolves, I can get easily their pelts.
A loud sound of thunder broke the silence as Myc casted thunderbolt to first wolf, dead on arrival. Same fate awaited for others, one by one. Quickly the pack was dead. After taking their pelts, Myc noticed that footsteps coming that way, quickly hiding in shadows, bandits arrive.
Bandits, most likely came there for the noise Myc caused, looked around for the source.
Myc made his leave after properly greeting (see also: killing), and was quickly back at College.
Lillian hurried past her house, her need to know that everyone was safe more urgent to her than dropping off the ore she'd collected in her exploring. She hurried past the market and up the incline behind. Glancing at the Gildergreen tree blooming beautifully before her, she took a quick right and hurried up to jorrvaskr and rushed inside. Farkas, who was on his way to the training yard behind, was clearly shocked to see her as she burst full force inside. "Lillian," he said, the shock evident even in his voice. He turned to her, seeming somewhat hesitant. "What are you doing here?" She hadn't thought this through. Of course she'd be questioned. She was a part of the Companions, but had been avoiding them since she was invited to join the inner circle. She glanced around, choosing to ignore Farkas's question. "Is everyone else here? They're all alright?" "Of course," Farkas responded, still seeming hesitant to approach her. "Why wouldn't they be?" He stopped and a frown creased his brow. "And why would you care? You haven't been here in months. Almost thought you'd abandoned us." She turned to him and she couldn't ignore the hurt hidden in his eyes. "I wouldn't abandon you..." She replied, pausing in unsureness. She really couldn't answer why she'd avoided Jorrvaskr for the last few months, nor why she'd bought her own house when she could easily have stayed there for free with her new family. "I... I just needed some time away, to stretch my legs, and," she shrugged, "do a little exploring..." She caught his eye and he didn't seem to believe her hasty response. "We have work here that could have sufficed." She shrugged again, turning away, not wanting him to see her face. "Ah, the work was keeping me close to Whiterun, and I got sick of the repetition." She started away, not wanting to continue the conversation and wanting to check for herself that everyone was indeed here, even those she didn't care for too much. Farkas surprised her by grabbing her arm. She turned back. "Not all contracts keep you close to home. You've earned the right to go further out," Farkas said, then paused, studying her. She tried not to shrink back under his gaze. "But I'm not buying your excuse," he continued. She sighed, turning away. She really didn't want to get into this. He leaned close to her, whispering. "Is this because of what happened in Dustmans Cairn?" "What?!" She was shocked, turning back to him. "Of course not! That has nothing to do with anything!" "Yet right after you're invited to join the Inner Circle, you leave?" "Well, this is a big decision, and I have to weigh my options. Maybe I just needed to clear my head and think for awhile?" "Then why didn't you just tell me that?" She glanced around the room, lowering her voice, as he continued to study her, trying to read her. "Maybe I don't want everyone knowing I was invited to join the Circle. Njada already hates me." "She's like that with everyone." He paused, smiling before going on. "And everyone already knows Skjor's seen something in you and has invited you into the circle." Lillian frowned, crossing her arms over her chest. This discussion was getting them nowhere. "Fine. So everyone knows. Maybe that's a good reason for me to stay away, then." Farkas nods. "A good reason, yes, though I wish I knew the real one." She met his eyes again, feeling his sincerity. "For now, know that it's nothing to do with you." She glanced over her shoulder, around the room they were in, before continuing. "Nor anyone here... This is a new land to me, and I long to explore it at length. I can't be tied down. But this will always be my home, and I'll always return to it." Looking into his eyes for a bit longer, she turned away, lest she say more. She hadn't meant to get so ridiculously sappy, and wasn't sure why she had. Before Farkas could stop her again, she hurried to the lower level of the building. She'd planned to go to the practice yard, but knew that's where he'd been heading. To her great relief, he said nothing more, nor did he pursue her. She hurried downstairs, thinking about what she'd told him. She wasn't sure if it was entirely true, but knew that it was at least partially so. Her need for exploring was something that could never be quenched. But she also knew there was more to her staying away, and she often wondered if it had to do with The Circle and the secret they possessed. Kodlak had called it a curse, and she was inclined to agree. But regardless, it would never change her love for her friends of the circle, especially not Farkas. She'd liked him since the moment she met him, and though she'd been taken off guard by his sudden transformation, she'd never change her opinion of him. He was a nice guy, and a good friend. They all were. Good friends, at least. She smiled as she thought of Skjor and his rough manor. Even Vilkas had been harsh to her at first. With these thoughts on her mind, she hurried to find these men, wanting to see for herself that they were, indeed, alright.
((OOC: Yay!))
He sat in his usual spot in The Bannered Mare in Whiterun, a table in the corner, out of the way, where no one would bother him. It was also a good spot to watch the other patrons of the inn, some renting a room there, others grabbing a bite to eat, while most simply sat by the fire at the center, drinking their mead and singing their songs. It was a calm, friendly atmosphere, one that Nyrodyn found to be quite scarce in the other parts of Skyrim. Whether it was the civil war or the frigid cold, there was always something hanging in the air in most parts of the Nordic homeland.
But not here.
No, Whiterun, he had found, was one of the few, rare jewels in the harsh, inhospitable landscape. It was one of the places where the sky wasn’t constantly hidden behind the clouds. It was the only city in Skyrim that remained untouched by the civil war, and it showed. It was still a Nord city, not letting the Khajiit or even some Redguards through the walls. And there were still some of those pointless conflicts like the feud between the Greymanes and the Battle-Borns. But still, what could be expected? The city was, without a doubt, the nicest of those in Skyrim. No public executions like in Solitude, or constant discrimination against his race in Windhelm. No Forsworn conspiracies like in Markarth, or thieves at every turn, like in Riften. No.. Whiterun was.. nice.
Nyrodyn smiled softly, closing his scarlet eyes and breathing out a small sigh in contentment. His profession might not be considered the most.. pleasant.. among the normal crowd. But he was most certainly anything but normal. Even in his line of work, he still smiled softly within the inn – not a smile of insanity or psychopathy, but a true, genuine smile of bliss.
Lillian turned toward the voice, her brow furrowing as she frowned. "Excuse me?" She asked the face she didn't recognize.
Lillian frowned, not sure it was any of his business. Not that she had anything to hide - not yet. It suddenly occurred to her what he'd asked, and her frown deepened. "What do you know of it?" No one besides the circle was said to know their secret. If it hadn't been for Farkas's need in Dustmans Cairn, she was sure not even she would have known, though Farkas would beg to differ, claiming Skjor would have welcomed her into the circle anyway, having seen something in her.
((OOC: Thanks! I'm glad to be on board. XD))
“Do you need anything?” A voice directed at him took Nyrodyn slightly off guard, but he quickly realized who was speaking to him and turned to face her with a smile. Having gotten no immediate response from him, Saadia went on, “Are you hungry? Thirsty? Both?”
Still smiling gently, the Dunmer shook his head in negation. “No, I’m fine, thank you,” he told her softly.
“Alright,” the Redguard woman consented. Looking about her surroundings for a second, she turned back to him and added, “If you need anything, just ask.”
Nyrodyn simply smiled in acknowledgement and she walked rather hastily back into the kitchen. It had been the same routine for the past three days that he’s been spending in Whiterun. The woman would come out of her kitchen to offer the customary food and drink for sale at the inn, before disappearing back into the kitchen. He couldn’t help but notice how much she went out of her way to be alone, strange, considering her work required her to be more of a “people person”. He supposed that in itself wasn’t strange; jobs could be scarce at times, and some had to take whatever work they could find, regardless of whether it was to their taste.
However, he also noticed the glances she threw over her shoulder every now and then, as if expecting to see someone or something there. Steepling his grey fingers in thought, he noted that he’d have to ask about the woman the next time he met up with a Dark Brotherhood agent. She might have a contract or bounty on her head that he didn’t know about…
Nyrodyn often observed people like this. The lives of the people in the inn didn’t affect him at all, but in his line of work, observation was a key skill, and like any skill, keeping it at its peak required practice. So even though he wasn’t officially on any sort of assignment, he still behaved as if he was. It was a good habit to pick up, and over the years, it had become instinct to him.
Nyrodyn watched carefully out of the corner of his eye at the three darkly-clad Imperials that walked into the inn. They did nothing unusual; simply purchased a room and headed upstairs to – assumedly – said room. The Dunmer didn’t move from his spot, nor did he make any acknowledgement of the three men that had come into the inn. He didn’t recognize them, though he hadn’t gotten a good look at them, either. He’d been careful not to make eye contact with any of them, or give any indication that he was possibly affiliated with any of them. It simply was not a wise thing to do.
Nor would it be a wise thing to do to go after them, for countless reasons. If the hooded men were who he assumed they were, then he didn’t want the public eye to see him anywhere near them, should they suspect anything about the black robed men. Another, more complicated, but certainly plausible reason, was that they might not be who one would assume they’d be. They could simply be travelers. Or even, if the guards could ever be credited for such brilliant subtlety, guards under disguise. It certainly wasn’t probable – for who would they be trying to catch? Certainly not him, he was far too discreet for anyone to even suspect him – but then again, he had to assume caution in every situation.
It was certainly paranoid, but in his line of work, one had to be paranoid. Leaning back in his chair slightly, he idly wondered if the three Imperial men had come for the Redguard women in the kitchen.
Lillian kept her frown, not wanting to show her surprise. How on earth could this young man read her so well. Were her thoughts so obvious? She didn't want to talk to him any more than she'd wanted to talk to Farkas about her churning thoughts. Leaning nearer him and putting on a warning face, she allowed a growl to escape her lips as she said, "I asked you a question first." She stretched out a finger and poked him in the chest, wanting him to know she wouldn't back down. Normally such a move wouldn't be wise, as she knew nothing about him, but she was in Jorrvaskr, and her friends would rally if he presented a threat. "What do you know of the Companions? I know you're not one of them." Yes, if he wanted to read people, fine. She could play that game, as well. "Now don't make me ask you again." She pulled her hand back and crossed her arms over her chest, still scowling at him, her mouth open slightly to reveal her teeth.
Knowing that the black robed men would have their ways of contacting him if they really wanted to talk to him, Nyrodyn slowly raised himself from his seat and walked out of the inn. It was nice to indulge in the air of happiness and innocence for a while, but now he was feeling a bit restless. He needed something to occupy his time, and give his mind a project to distract itself with. His mind was.. something that really shouldn’t be left to its own devices for too long…
Nyrodyn saw the Nord take pause when he took notice of him, but he feigned ignorance. He wasn’t sure who this person was, or what his intentions were, but he didn’t want to engage in any form of conversation or confrontation with him. Instead, he idly smoothed his black mage robes, occupying his time in meaningless little things. No one ever took particular notice of him, so why should this man? He supposed it could be in the man’s interest to pester him because of his race, but if that was so, then why hadn’t he begun already..?
The Dunmer raised an eyebrow at the stranger’s statement, but said nothing. He wasn’t sure what made the Nord think that they would ever possibly meet again, or, “come into contact” as he put it. Nyrodyn frowned slightly in thought. His frown deepened when he realized that.. he recognized the man. They’ve never met in person, but he’d been given a detailed description of the man via the Dark Brotherhood. Apparently, not only have they sent a handful of assassins after him – all ending up dead – but he was also the Dragonborn.
Well, Nyrodyn thought. This makes things a bit more interesting.
Nyrodyn stood there, just outside of The Bannered Mare, a troubled expression on his face. The Nord had piqued his curiosity, there was no denying that. He wanted to observe the Dragonborn, perhaps even inquire as to what he had meant moments before. A part of him wanted to sate his curiosity by doing what he had thought he’d wanted to avoid. Yet another part of him, the instinctual part of him, was telling him not to. For so long, his instincts and his clever devices have kept him safe, safe from harm. Yet now…
He sighed softly. It wouldn’t hurt to talk with the man – boy, really, in his mind – for a short while. Regardless of what he was, Nyrodyn was a very social person, and he felt the need to simply talk to him.
Taking a few quick strides to catch up with the Nord, the Dunmer said softly, “You will have to forgive my somewhat startled reaction; being a Dunmer in these lands can make us a bit more.. skittish than usual.” He said nothing more yet, hoping only to start up a simple conversation.
Myc was back in his room, sorting out his Alchemy components and countless of recipes for potions.
After he was done, he left College and travelled to Whiterun by horse. He needed more components for alchemy. He knew that the alchemist in Whiterun had them.
Lillian's mind reeled at the young man's words. He was right. Why didn't she want to confide in anyone, not even her family at Jorrvaskr? Before she could figure out an answer, or form a witty comment of retort, another Nord interrupted them. He seemed a bit older, and his conversation with the other man immediately piqued her interest. She listened quietly, wondering about the two, when she realized the man had asked her if she was alright after his acquaintance had left. She turned to him, not answering his immediate question, as another pressed to the forefront of her mind. "You know him?"
Nyrodyn nodded appreciatively at the Nord’s understanding. It was hard for him, as it was hard for all Dunmer, living in Skyrim. They were not particularly well-liked, along with the Khajiit and the Argonians, and that only made living in the harsh cold of the land even more difficult to bear. Regardless, it seemed this Nord – this Dragonborn – was different from the norm in regards to relations with merfolk. At least, he didn’t outwardly express any hatred towards him. If he did, then he kept it well hidden.
Smiling softly, regaining his air of composure, he inquired softly, “I don’t mean to intrude, but what did you mean earlier? Why do you suppose that we’ll meet again? Aside from this conversation we’re having now?”
