I'm browsing eBay and seeing a lot of Skylanders for sale and then I notice

"WEB CODE ONLY"

Why are people selling web codes of Skylanders? I know there's the iOS game and all, but are people really buying it for that?

Yah sometimes they don't play the actual game like me when I first got into sky lands it was with lost islands and that's all I played then I found the forums and got into it big. But I'm not ashamed to say I have bought the codes online before. But some are just outrageous

There's been this one jerk who's been selling the webcodes and claiming that they were from rare Skylanders, even though they have the exact same webcodes as the normal characters.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy gems to purchase the characters?

I think I've seen that. I saw a Golden Flameslinger code at a high price, but I assume he isn't golden in Lost Islands. I hate it when I see a £5 Wham shell, get all excited, then see "WEB CODE ONLY" lol

Nope, none of the solid color variants are different in Lost Islands.

Just to be sure, the Web codes are good for online only right? For instance if I were to give someone a web code for say..... enchanted hoot loop, that wouldn't effect me using my figure on my xbox360. If that's the case I never use my webcodes, only play counsel games.

Nope wouldn't affect it one bit the codes are at this time only for the mobile games such as battle grounds, lost islands, and collection vault. There might be more to be released later but as for now they'd really don't have a use if you buy the figure used you can open up swap force and pull the toys unique code by pressing select

Although, a web code can only be used 5 times. So you can't just give it to everybody you know. And if you buy a used figure, and the web code has already been used 5 times, you can still import the character with the iOS Battlegrounds portal.

When I add Skylanders to the Collection Vault app I just go to "Can't find my code" because its quicker than actually typing it in and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

That's cuz the Collection Vault isn't a game.

I know, I don't play Lost Islands and this is the only other time I've seen a use for a code

Several people bought from him. More than half of them complained.
He's doing that to fool people.
