I've been trying to win one all weekend, but I keep losing to the same person. Not sure why someone is trying to buy up all the Darklight Crypts; maybe he's hoping to buy all the stock, and then sell them himself when there's no more competition? But I looked at his bidding profile, and he's bid on a TON of different auctions in the past hour. Probably has a bot set up to win every auction for specific items.

That sucks, weekends are the busiest times as well. As for that guy, that is weird, he's probably selling them somewhere else, like in a shop for a couple of ££ more. Or maybe he loves Dark Light Crypt.

You may be right about a bot. And if he can buy up all the Darklight Crypts, he can basically set his own price. What a jerk! You can also check on Amazon and try used someplace too. Just trying to give you some options. Good hunting!

He could have also gone to each listing and just left a really high Max Bid.

Odd thing around Oct last year these reappeared for some odd reason and then bam gone again. Idk why thou.

Ooh just did a naughty on ebay . Bought a pre owned Loose Darklight Crypt . Everything except ghost roaster .

You might want to report the seller he may have someone bidding to just raise the price, and that is against eBay policy. I had someone do it to me when I was trying to get a item and eBay checked it out and he was doing it for alot of sellers for a price and eBay took his bids away and I became the winner seller was extremely mad but had to sell it to me.

yea it could be but ebay will check his bidding history and they will be able to tel,l if he is not than ebay want do anything if he is ebay will be able to tell

Ya, hopefully it is foul play, and they get caught. Then I can actually buy one. This is the last item I need to complete my SSA collection.

Keep your eyes open. I found 2 Crypts at Wal Mart just a few weeks ago. I don't know if they were newly shipped or old stock. I also have found Ghost Roaster at used game stores for $7-$10. Also check Craigslist in your area, sometimes you can find someone selling a lot of skylanders for $30-$100 with all kinds of skylanders in there. I did that where I live and then sold the characters I didn't need for $5 online and it paid for what I spent.

Message someone selling dlc directly and ask if you can buy it from them. That way no one can outbid you. Just an idea.

I believe that's actually also against eBay rules, unless it's a Buy It Now listing. It's considered an unfair advantage. But you can message sellers with buy it now listings and ask if they'd accept an offer and they can change the listing or take your offer.

I recommend just keep searching. I managed to get a used DLC complete set shipped for $30 back in November. It can be done, but it takes a little patience. Before winning that one, I had to jump through hoops to get a refund from a seller who went MIA. Not every seller is out to scam a fortune. Some people just want to sell their items at a fair price.

I saw pegs full of all the old Darklight Crypt, Pirate Seas etc old Adventure Packs at Toys R Us this weekend (Oklahoma).... No need for ebay for those currently!

No luck at my local TRU. Surprisingly, they actually cleared out most of their SSA and Giants inventory. I guess those Red Hot Deals the past couple weeks really worked.

You sure you saw Darklight Crypt? Because my local TRU has tons of every Adventure Pack except for that one. I haven't seen one of those in a store around here at all.

Anyway, I'm content with the $45 I paid for my pack off of ebay. It was one of the few things I needed to finish my collection and I'm done with the hunt, which was worth the extra cost IMO.

As far as I could tell, TRU only got in the 3 adventure packs that are easy to find. I'm still not sure about the Walmart deal. It seemed like they only put out one shipment of them and that was it. Luckily I saw people posting on here and went straight to the Walmart next to my work on my lunch break and found it. I went to a local used game store, yesterday, that normally sells Skylanders for $7. They had Ghost Roaster and Boomer, but they had $35 on Ghost Roaster and $20 on Boomer They had plenty of the Darklight Crypt level pieces for $7. I'm not sure where they suddenly got them. I checked right after Christmas when my son had some money and mostly all they had were easy to find figures except for a Legendary Sypro that they wanted $25 for. They did have a couple new corelanders for $7 (including a Dark Ninja Stealth Elf which I was surprised to find) and my son picked up a Hoot Loop for $7. I was hoping they might sell Boomer for $7, but I guess they knew what he was worth. The Legendary Spyro was the only one I ever saw them have a markup on recently, and they've had it for a while, so I thought they may not be keeping up with their values as much anymore and I would get lucky. I guess I was wrong.

This is essentially what I ended up doing. I was getting nowhere with the auctions, and the prices actually increased by over $10 compared to the weekend. All the Buy-It-Now offers were absurdly high, so I decided to go the Best Offer route. Low-balling got me nowhere, so I made an offer for the original amount I was trying the auctions with. The seller accepted, and I'm now done with my SSA collection.

I saw one at K-mart...just saying.

I'm not a scalper so, I didn't buy it! I left it for hopefully some other collector to find. Before the scalper buys it anyway. I hope so...

I'm aware that some people have been lucky enough to find them in stores. Obviously this is the case, or else there wouldn't be a steady supply of them on eBay. The problem is, they are so few in number, that most people haven't been able to find them in stores; and there's no guarantee any of us will. Now, I could spend ours of my time, and a bunch of gas, hunting for something I may never find. But in the end, I find it easier, less stressful, and more cost effective to simply buy it on eBay. I'm not going to go into detail of how much I bought if for, or how much money I make. But I will say that I make more money in an hour than how much I paid over retail.

Keep in mind that some appear from people that are ready to move on from the franchise, or stocked up when they were common, gambling they would become rare and valuable. Yes, some are showing up in stores randomly from cases that had been overlooked in retailer warehouses or in dust covered corners, but they aren't shipping normally or they would be more consistent.

There are many that have collected one or more "packaged" copies that have things that come up and need the money, or they simply tire of the game/chase. I personally expect it won't go away, particularly opened copies from all the people that that got it (and it was very common at one point, so there is no lack of them out there). Also, the value of the pack is diminished now that it is a simply an item piece and not a level opener in Swap Force (and likely into the future games). Ghost Roaster is where the main value lies, and if he is reposed for part 4 that makes the value go further down to all except collectors.

Sucks that it is such a rarity. Well, actually I'd mostly want the Ghost Roaster to play with, it seems like an interesting character, and not available outside of the adventure pack, which is a shame. Local Gamestop had some SSA adventure/battle packs (one of each kind of thing), but probably not that one... but last week even the ones they had suddenly vanished, so I guess someone bought 'em. I already got lucky in nabbing the Crystal Clear Stealth Elf from there though, so probably shouldn't complain too much!

No, no...please don't mistake my post! I was simply in the store for something totally non skyalnder related ( I do go to stores for other things hehe it's a joke ) and thought, hey I'll check out what stock they have in skylanders. And 'BOOM' (sorry, had to do it) and there it was.

I was simply trying to remind people that while you are out and about for non-skylander stuff, it never hurts to check to see what's in stock. Nothing more.

You would be surprised what you will find!! Happy hunting!

Just curious are you looking for the whole set? Just pieces? Or just Ghost Roaster? or all of the above. Was checking pricing on Ebay

Oh I see. Ya, I always make an effort to so what's on the pegs whenever I'm shopping. I haven't found anything amazing, but I did manage to find a S1 Chill and the Wave 3 swappers when they were still rare.

I cant remember the last time ive gone to a store and not look at skylanders while there or to see if they sell them, its become a habit now.

Darklight Crypt is my holy grail at this point too. Since I am in Matteomax territory, I have little chance of finding him on the shelves

I wouldn't bother with them.

I recommend searching for "Darklight Crypt" or "Ghost Roaster" periodically throughout the day and refine the results to "Buy It Now, Newly Listed". You can also set the ebay app to notify you when certain items are listed that match your search. That's how I got a Ghost roaster for $8 shipped last year.

And more recently, using that same tactic, got The New 52 Batman issues 1, 2, and 3 for only $13.

Also, look for misspelled words. That's how I got Gold Chop Chop and S1 Gold Flameslinger for $20 each. He listed them as Golden instead of Gold.
