If so, what's your method? I began bringing my own figures when visiting my nephew, and we have many of the same characters. Looking for a good way to make them easily distinguishable.

That could work, but I'm looking for more of a physical solution. My nephew is 4, so keeping our piles separate doesn't always work out. Having to put each figure on the portal at the end of our gaming session would be a bit of a hassle.

What about a sticker on the bottom of each one? It would only be seen if figure is upside down.

For something short term like this, I guess I'd buy some small sticker circle things and stick 'em to the bottom

That's a good idea with the circle stickers. Hopefully they stay on well enough to not accidentally fall off, yet come off easy enough to not leave any adhesive -- or pieces of sticker -- behind.

And ya, I'd be surprised if it prevented the portal from reading the figures. Someone on here stuffed a portal inside Flynn's ship and it still worked.

Label underneath the base with washable marker, you can always wash it of.

For stickers you could use those notebook paper reinforcement rings. Should be cheap enough

Idk he took labels and cut them in 1/3 and but his initials on them and not one of them would work with the portal so we removed them. It covered about 1/2 the bottom so that could be why. These were diff colored label strips we had got at target.

Use some neon colored duct tape.

Use the circles they sell for yard sale prices. And there is no way they would prevent the portal from reading. These things read on the portal still in the boxes. So that's cardboard, sticker sheet, playing card, instruction booklet folded several times and the plastic bubble.

Aww reminds me of:

I don't label mine, but I figured if I ever had to some day like for a tournament or whatever (always hoping my anime con holds a tourny), I'd use colored hairbands.

My son has an "M" written on the bottom of all his. With the top half of swappers the one magnet point is colored with sharpie. Nothing fancy

Myself and the kids use tiny circular stickers. Got them at the dollar store, each of us has a colour.

I just wrote my initials on the bottom of my figures.

I used to label them, but I don't anymore.
