I remember someone saying, soon after we got the Molekin Market (and right after the EotD broke) that their son was still getting the EotD to work and that if he collected from the Molekin Market with a Skylander from the EotD, then they were getting 100+ gems. Since it has been broken, we've been unable to test that, so I've decided to test it now that it's fixed. I collected, this morning, using an EotD Skylander and did get 100+ gems. I checked with Hugo for tomorrow's EotD and put in my Skylander with that element. So we'll see. I thought I would see if anyone else was willing to test. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I've been doing it every day for weeks, both while it was broken and after. It has never given me 100+ gems during that time.

I also tried it every day for a couple of weeks - ensuring that the element of the day was working at the time I collected - and I always got 25 gems. Got 100 gems once, but it was before that post, so I don't know if the element matched or not. Two days ago, I got 105 gems, and the element did not match.

I've definitely gotten it when they didn't match, but it worked, this morning. I was thinking that was the 2nd day in a row I got 100+, but I can't remember what I did, yesterday. I've been starting my market early in the morning, so I don't mind sending off a Skylander for tomorrow's EotD since I'll get it back first thing in the morning. So maybe I'll go a few days to see if there's a higher chance.

Definitely interested in seeing your findings. If this is the case, I'll buy Hugo right away. Is there any other reason to have him? I never bought him because I couldn't think of a reason to want to know the next EotD.

I have never gotten more than 25 gems. If tat works I would make the Hugo investment.

The main reason to know the following days EotD is so you can send your skylanders on balloon rides that return the following day. If you correspond the returning skylanders's element with the next days EotD, then you can garner the extra bonus that comes with it. I do this every single time. |

Hugo may be even more of an advantage, now. He always seemed to be, but as most of us figured out, everyone seemed to be getting the same EotD. I'm surprised no one found a way to share what the next EotD would be instead of having to buy Hugo. Now it seems to be completely random.

Granted there is not a large data set, but my frequency of getting 100+ seems to be more when I match element of the day.

I have tried this. I match the element of the day every time and I have not gotten more than 25 gems ever. Hopefully now that I am low on gems I will get lucky and get 100 a couple of times. I was way short on Mabu and this morning I got an offer for Tessa for 1500 gems and picked her up.

You say that you're matching the element of the day, but are you matching the next day's element of the day or the day you send the Skylander? It would have to be the next day's since it takes 24 hours. It's hard to have a large data set, since we've only had element of the day back for a few days. I'm wondering if I should keep a log. I was just going to try for a few days and see if I got 100+ more often. But I may be able to keep an actual log.

I would do it for the next day. So if it said that tomorrow was.... Earth, I would send an earth Skylander today. I had Wrecking Ball going today and today was magic for me and only got 25. I know that they are pretty much free gems but I would like to win 100 or more someday.

There is no correlation to payouts based on element of day. I had 4 air guys in today and got 25 gems on all of them. I have gotten higher than 100 before but without element of day. It's all luck

I broke my streak and ended up with 25, today. So it's definitely not a guarantee. I may still keep track to see if I get a higher amount, as I know I've gotten two 100+ payouts in the last few days.

Nope 25 gems still for me, although i seem to be permanently set on life element at the moment, now 3 days in a row. Strange

I'm not even sure whether this matters to anyone, but I was curious why you have the choice of either coins or energy for the molekin market. It seemed to me like it would never make economic sense to pay with energy rather than coins. As it turns out, it is cheaper to use energy IF you have Ol' Mac AND you use nothing but radiant fields AND you plant luminaries (30 minutes/magic) or shorter duration crops.
Cheers! Here's hoping the devs come out of hibernation for February.

I'm sure you could argue both sides for which is 'cheaper' to use in the market. For example, if you took the energy required (200,000) and used it to send skylanders to iron jaw gulch (cost 125 energy, produce 5500 coins) you end up with 8,800,000 gold, or enough to fuel the market 17 times. This is assuming no bonuses and only regular balloons. Time also becomes a consideration, and I don't have time right now to work that in. The biggest question, I think, is which of the two commodities do you have more of a surplus of? I find this to be coins, so I use coins.
Edit: I say no bonuses, but I do have Cali and I'm not sure if her bonus is built in to the figures or not, but I think the point is still valid (and probably moot). |

For me, it depends which I happen to have more of. Before I got Ermit, my energy count was just growing and growing, while I was still using coins for skylander spins and wood stack houses, so energy made more sense. Now that I have Ermit and I've maxed out my wood stack houses and have all the skylanders, energy is more precious and coins seem to be multiplying on their own.
It's probably just random, but I have noticed that I haven't had a larger than 25 gem payout since switching to only using gold. So now I'm starting to wonder if it's completely random, or if the chance of more gems is higher when you use energy. |

I had some 100+ payouts earlier, but not in the last ~ 2 weeks. I was waiting for it every day, but I always got 25.
Today my EotD was undead and my undead skylander got a 100+ payout. I thought it MAY be related - but now that I read your comments I don't think it is. It's simply luck. But I'll see it tomorrow, it's undead again, according to Hugo... |

I don't think I have ever gotten anything besides 25 gems. Which is a bummer.

I've been selecting a skylander from the EOTD (well actually the Element of Tomorrow Courtesy of Hugo) every day for more than a month. I've gotten a 100+ payout twice. I can't see that it's related in any way.

My results are the same as woz's. 2 100 gem payouts early on, but only 25ers for the last few weeks. No correlation to eotd.
I also tried trading energy once and got 25 gems but won't do that again. |

I had 100+ for two days in a row a couple of weeks ago.
It happened when I was close to enough gems for a companion and was a nice surprise. Only 25s since, though do not give up hope

I've had 2-100 gem payouts total. All others have been 25. So the odds of anything better than 25 seem very low to me. Still, I have over 200,000,000 gold with nothing to spend it on, and I still need to collect gems to get the last few high-cost companions, so I remain happy that the exchange can be done at all.

I use Voodood on it every day. Today was the first time I got something besides 25 gems. I got 108! The element of the day was Fire. I usually use gold but on that round used energy. I think it was only the second time I ever used energy.
