I think I'll name mine "Metal Militia Sprocket" instead of "Full Metal Sprocket"...

I posted about this over a week ago. It will be interesting to see if they actually have any since they released them last week. They should have waited to release them when they put it in the ad.

Anyone else notice how light the Best Buy Sprocket is? It feels like my ceiling fan could knock her off the portal from three rooms away.

I agree. It is very thin and definitely hollow.

Not to start another Infinity vs. Skylanders thing, I love them both - but this is an area where they really did well on Infinity. Those figures are SOLID. Wreck It Ralph is very heavy - like twice as heavy as Tree Rex, and probably would do some damage if used as a projectile. The other big ones are too - notably the Cars ones, only the really thin ones (Violet, Elastigirl, etc.) are light. Many of the Skylander have obvious internal cavities where they were trying to cut back on material used. |

But isn't that good? They don't want little kids throwing a Skylander on somebody do they? That Wreck It Ralph would hurt ...

Yes and no, as a collector or someone that wants figures to last (especially when played with by the kids, and kids can do some damage) you want them to be solid. However, there is something to be said for them being kid friendly, made of soft materials and not overly heavy, like Skylanders. My kids are typically good at taking care of their toys, but I know many are not. I want them to enjoy their toys, but not be destructive because they do cost money and they need to respect that. My son has a few friends that seem to break stuff for fun, I've had to have a few discussion with kids and their parents who have been disrespectful to my kids' things. One kid, in particular, has been banned from the house for being especially destructive, then back-talking my wife when she talked to him about it. |

So I guess you could say that he would... wreck it? I kind of figured that they'd eventually have to cut out some material on larger figures. I'd assume that the LCs and Giants are pretty hollow inside to allow for the lights and stuff.

Four words... Mega Gulp Pop Fizz. Light as heck! Not a fan of his lightness :/ Disney Infinity definitely won on how the toys feel.

Tree Rex is lighter and more hollow than Ralph because Rex has wires inside of him.

Remind me to tell you about it the next time I see you. Your jaw will drop. That kid has some issues (highly ADHD/etc.), and his parents are really about as good about it as you could hope (they backed my wife 100% when we spoke to them), so it really isn't just an upbringing thing. In general, I expect some things to be broken by normal play, because they are kids. Heck, I have my own XBox 360 controller that only I use (and keep put up) because I expect the other four to be given a thorough workout by the kids (they drift some from over-use on Minecraft). Also only my oldest is allowed to use the gamepad on the WiiU since the sticks aren't replaceable and I have four Pro Controllers for his friends to use. You have to make some adjustments. I'm sure some of them consider me that anal Dad because I don't let them just throw game discs and controllers all over the floor and leave them, but we do have some absolute rules on these things. When you change games the old one goes back into the case. Games stay on the shelf except for the one you are using. Handhelds/controllers go back on the chargers when you are done. |

I can definitely feel for his parents; my son has PDD (Autism Spectrum). You try everything in your power to teach your child to behave as properly as possible, while still trying to allow them to live as close to a normal life as possible. But there are just certain things that outside of your control, and you're forced to isolate your child while dealing with upset -- and often non-understanding -- people.

Yeah...I have an autistic child as well...but high functioning. Totally get the adjustments and understanding...I took the tone as downright disrespectful and oblivious to the treatment of other people's property... The bulk of my non-understanding people are the teachers. 504 plan and all that, but when you have 40+ students in class...guess what wins?

Yeah, he does have some major lack of respect issues. This is by far not the only incident, just the last we choose to allow in our own home. Long story short, he basically told my wife she was "starting to tick me off" when she told him to not move furniture around for the third time. He doesn't pull that stuff with me, he knows I talk with his parents and I don't put up with that stuff, nor fall for him lying to me. Autism (and Asperger's) is a different story though, as we talked about a while back in person. I have a friend who's brother has severe Asperger's and I can tell you it is a much different thing than behavioral/anger/ADHD issues. You kinda have to understand and work with a child with Autism. You can't just tell them to "not do that", I have a lot of respect for the parents that go through that every day. There are some similarities though. I've met your son and he is great, let me tell you I'd let my kids play with him anyday over the kid I mentioned above. We watch him like a hawk when he is playing with our son outside. And being that we are in the state we are in, with McCrory's budget cuts, you are right - what can you expect? Cutting aides, cutting funding, cutting special education programs, increasing classroom size. McCrory's solution to getting the best companies attracted to the state is to lower corporate taxes, increase profit security and reduce regulations. His solution to attracting the best teachers? Lower salaries, lower job security and increase regulations. It is ironic, unless you recognize their real goal, drive it all to private schools - segregation based on wealth. Art Pope's money is paying dividends, and we all get to suffer for it. |

I am with you my daughter is bipolar/ADHD and ODD which is a defiance disorder so all those work against each other and she is turning 13. Let just say I have aged many years and I have a ADHD 9year old Einstein son that has a 140 IQ. I and wife both are so tired at night.

I would rather have figures that weigh less and COST less, rather than weighing and costing more. Infinity basic figures are $12.99 versus corelanders that are $9.99. Yes, the swappers are $15, but they have more components, magnets, and they come in 2 pieces. And what about the story book packs? Those are $30 to $40 per set, versus Sheep Wreck Island only cost $25.
