Yeah, me too. It's still really common.

I wonder if the TOT/SWI stock situation will be similar to how it was for the 2 battle packs in Giants.

The Chop-Chop/Shroomboom pack has always been abundant everywhere and still is

The Hot Dog/Zap pack never seemed to be stocked as fully, even after it came out of GameStop exclusivity. It's not rare, like Darklight Crypt, but still pretty uncommon.

He will actually have a single pack. Same with Pop Thorn.

I know this because they listed it on Walmart.com during a huge leak of character and pack info before SWAP Force was released.

That's good news. I think I may get The Tower of Time because it looks cool, can anyone tell me if the ToT acts the same way as the ones from SA where you put it on during the game and it will attack (also what does the sky diamond do?). I can't find info on the wiki.

It makes enemies drop diamonds instead of lower sums of money. You can use it on the straw punching dummies to get a ton of cash quick!

I haven't gotten to play Wind-up yet. However, I do agree that Pop Thorn is such a nice character. It is refreshing to see characters with a different style. I didn't play Giants, but to my knowledge, Pop Thorn is the first character of its kind? Maybe some of you others who have been faithful through the past 3 years can confirm this. I did have trouble learning to play with Pop Thorn in the beginning.

Someone who's too cheap to pay for an adventure pack gets them as a single? They're really being "consumer friendly" this go around. They apparently don't want to leave $1 on the table this go round.

The diamond is the best magic item ever...anyone who passes to get just the single is not thinking straight.

The reality is: Not every Skylanders fan('s parents) can afford what most of us on the forum can. I mean, even those of us in the forum have to get figures to our budget. Most younger fans tend to just want the figure that is included in an adventure pack, so it makes sense for the company to want to maximize the profit. Not only that but some households have multiple children playing the same game on the same console and the same portal but want their own set of figures. Why should a parent buy multiple adventure packs just because the other kids want Pop Thorn or Wind-Up?

I said the same thing. "They're really being "consumer friendly" this go around. They apparently don't want to leave $1 on the table this go round."

I still stand by my point though that if any parent SHOULD buy an Adventure Pack, ToT is the one to get.

Which is what I was responding to.

I agree though, the ToT adventure pack looks like a good deal not too sure about SWI.

For what it's worth, the adventure packs are a must...
If you look at the value of the game as (number of playable characters) X (amount of playable content), then getting more characters eventually offers diminishing returns. Once you have one of each skill (and movement type), you really should look at expanding the game to maximise value.

Of course, this doesn't address cases where patents specifically want two of one character, but that's a choice that it counter to extracting maximum value anyway.

The Wave 4 speculation probably isn't accurate. Their list is basically every non-variant that isn't out yet, leaving nothing for the inevitable Wave 5 - not a lot of insight. Sure, Activision may have chosen to do that, but it would be unusual.

I think they will release all 3 remaining swap characters (Trap Shadow/Freeze Blade/Doom Stone) at the same time. It's just a matter of when that time will be. The giveaway is the little circle thing at the top of the package as well as the backside of the packages containing the same wave characters.

Makes sense to me. They've been pretty bulky so far with the releases...My only take is that they might do the swappers in one wave and the others in one or more different waves to spread it out and include items from previous waves.

Just as long as those previously released figs are some of the ones that have been hard to get from previous waves. If they do that, then people would love that. How likely would it be though?

One little kink to that though, the spin disc contains four figures. Last wave only had three new swappers, therefore the spin disc had another earlier released figure in it (Magna Charge, I think? Someone can correct me) in the fourth slot. Not saying you are wrong, but I think we are looking at a 2 and 1 release for 4 and 5, but that's just my speculation. I've got this weird feeling Trap Shadow is a Wave 5 figure. I'm fairly certain we will see Freeze Blade in 4 since we have to have Nitro Freeze Blade mixed in there somewhere.

#28 Posted: 18:20:16 21/01/2014
I think the spin-disc at the top might reflect an earlier intent to send the Swappers out in waves of 4 each. Then somebody probably decided that wasn't the way they wanted it, and did it this way. That's my theory, so take it with a grain of salt.

If Trap Shadow was for the 5th wave, would that make him a lone swapper? I wouldn't put it past Activision to do something like this. They've been known to throw out some surprises. We might not know them all till the next game is out.

I think they realize they had an interest gap post Ninjini release in February. Pretty much all anyone cared about was variants. By the time Series 2 Drobot hit, no one was paying attention to waves.

One thing...I would DEFINITELY not appreciate having to wait until this fall to play any of the new guys. I still haven't completed the game as I'm tempering it with upgrades, quests, stars etc but I suspect I'll be all but done with this game by end of March. And that's me taking my sweet time.

Tower of Time is hiding in a closet (as will be SWI when it shows its face)...for the later releases to have some new storyline to play in. Probably another epic Easter Basket this year...

Funny thing is I paid for ours and have it registered in game but I'm refusing to play it until certain criteria is met. I just remember the skylanders quest fest I had and so this time won't play these levels until we meet certain upgrade criteria.

Whatever lets you continue to enjoy the game is cool. I happen to like both the games and the figs also in and of themselves. They are so cute and fun! I feel like I have to crochet some plushies or a hoodie or two...so tempting...

You don't suppose Activision will try to make a rare varient of Wind-up for any future events, do you? I don't mean an in-game type, but something along the lines of metallic purple cynder. That could be another way to get him, albeit, a very expensive one.

Same here, I was lucky enough to grab one off of Amazon before they ran out but, like you mentioned, I've yet to see SWI in any store. The Crossbow Battle pack, on the other hand, I've seen in a few stores. Picked one up at Best Buy last week.

I agree Wind-up is really neat! He needs a "platinum" varient, maybe one of the sparkled ones...or they could do transluscent silver...now that would be impressive!

I do hope Wind-up gets released separately. I had a chance to play Tower of Time at a friend's, and not sure it's really worth buying especially when I could just borrow it instead. Basically I'd only need the Wind-up figure from that pack, so it'd be very expensive just for it. Even the Diamond thing isn't all that, since it's not like it's hard to make money in Swap Force as it is.
