Man, I'm totally kicking myself for not getting in on that Dark Edition last Saturday. $69 after a portal trade-in + 4 sidekicks?

I'm wondering, do you guys know if that's going to be it for this year? Am I going to be forced to pick up the Dark Edition at full price and sidekicks on eBay?

Anyone work at GameStop know if there's going to be another one?

Most gamestops will still honor the sale with sidekick but you might have to pay a little more

if your game stop still has the side kicks its still the same spend 20$ for 1.

Yeah, one GameStop I went to said the were only honoring the sidekicks for that day, another one said I had to spend $30. Too bad I missed out on $30 off the Dark Edition...

I called 5 Gamestops in my area today. I got these answers...

"We can't sell them."

"We shipped them back."

"We are saving them for the next promo."

"Nope, sorry!"

"No, we do not."

Must just be unlucky Skylanders day/week/month for me!

The Skylander Day flyer said you could earn a sidekick for every $30 spent after the event day while supplies last.

to be fair everyday is skylander day at GS, as nothing changes when they do have it...just saying

So I can still go in and get $20 off a Starter Pack, plus an additional $10 with portal trade-in? As well as 50% off accessories?

even if there is no other skylander day, there will probably be sidekicks.

they reused the SSA sidekicks so much that it makes a dead horse feel safe.

Sure wish my GS had the SSA sidekicks. I have been unable to find them at my gamestop. I know they have used them a couple different times but I wasn't trying to collect everything then. Didn't see a need for them when they just sit on the portal not doing much. Now that I have decided to try and collect them all I can't seem to find them unless I want to pay 30 or 40 bucks online.

You might be seeing those Sidekicks your store should have had in for their events in those online sales ...

I was under the impression they were inventoried, but some Gamestop employees have been known to horde the pre-order/promotion items for themselves and then claim to have "not received them". I have cancelled a few pre-orders at pick up time for this. Notably, they had the rooster hat as a pre-order bonus I thought my son might like for the original Scribblenauts but when I got to the store "oh we didn't get those in" with another employee trying to hide a smile. Yeah, sorry, I'm not buying it here, give me my refund. I would not put it past some of those Sidekicks getting shoved in a bag when they came in and sold on EBay, I know most stores got *tons* of them and were giving them out for many "events". By the end of the summer if you so much as considered buying something Skylanders related they would throw one to you at some stores.

And yes they are very pointless, unless you are collecting.

Yeah the employee that was there collects as well but she also try to help me when she can. She didn't know anything about the frito lays promotions so I explained that to her. She was wanting the original ones from Spyro's Adventure too but stated she's never seen them. She had a bunch of the new giantkicks though. I already had all of them so really didn't want them. Thought I would only get 1 since it said 1 per transaction but she gave me three for the fact that I spent over 60 total on skylanders stuff. So i guess some stores still have the first set and some only have the new giantkick ones

It'll cost 30 in purchases to get one sidekick, while supplies last.

I would think that the closer we get to the next game/around this time next year, the Dark Edition should be on sale or severely cut. At least, waiting a while seems like the most sensible option in order to save some dosh, especially since I have the game already.
