Everyone's Skylanders Storage Solutions? [CLOSED]

I recently saw a post asking how the over the door Skylander figure holder is. I thought it would be cool to see how everyone stores their Skylanders, with Pics if you can! As some of you may know, I moved this year from New York State to TN where I'm getting medical treatment so I'm staying at a house that a church let us stay for a couple of months with just paying utilities. I can't really get comfortable yet as 99% of our old house is in a storage facility. So when we find a place to stay I'll try something new. Also I thought of a display on the wall when I get to a permanent house again but it would be a pain to grab the figures to play, same with the door hanger. For a while I had my Figures in a paper shopping bag (first pic). Then I decided to put each element in its own ziplock bag. So now it a little neater and easier to find the Skylander I need. I keep my cards and their stickers in a binder in elemental order xD

I too have my cards in a binder all sorted properly. as for storage of the characters though, i just put up shelves. 5 shelves (2 elements per shelf and 1 shelf for items) and i love it. Going to eventually back light all the shelves and possibly hook them up to a switch to turn on all the light cores (still figuring out the logistics for that though)

Mine is a 1 inch I think. It's flexible and the only problem is if you hold it upside the cards fall out.

I put each of my characters in individual ziplock bags then place them in 12qt storage boxes (currently have 3 boxes full). As for the cards, I made divider cards for each element, adventures, battles and place the cards, along with sticker sheet in card sleeves and then, put them in Ultra-Pro clear deck boxes.

I started with the deck box and it got too packed. I put the stickers behind the card so it shows in the back. I like that shelf idea, would the lightcores ever burn out our dim if they were always on?

Yeah, my deck boxes got packed early too, I now have 5 deck boxes...2 elements to each box, plus the adventures and battle magic items in another box. I, too, put the stickers behind the cards so they show in the back.

I have the colosseum display for the few loose figures I have.

I have the opened SWAP Force characters on the light up arena display.

I store the rest of my figures on a table I've had since I was a toddler.

Chase figures and store exclusive color variants go on a shelf.

I too used this back when we started SSA, but then I upgraded to this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Powe...versal/24534199 I have 3 different styles (Pictures on the front)
I have 1 for SSA, and 2 for SG and 3 for SF (I also have one for DI, $11 sale I could not pass)
I sort them according to Elements

At the end of October I bought 4 of these for $11 each at Walmart.com. There is a post somewhere on this site talking about this.
I only had 3 (SSA and SG) at the time so I bought 4 more to cover me for SF. I only need 3 for SF so I use the other one for Disney Infinity.

I use this Whitmor Ornament Storage Box for my figures. It has two levels, with a lift out middle divider to reach the bottom section, and dividers you can arrange for each level. It holds about 2-3 figures in each divider slot and keeps them neat and from banging around on each other when I move them or store them. Plus when I play I can pull out the level and set the figures on top of the box. smilie I did this when I realized the "skylanders" branded storage boxes were essentially the same thing, only they hold A LOT less and cost A LOT more hahaha. I currently have 2 boxes, 1 holds all of my SSA and SG figures, and the second is about half full with SSF.

To fit a whole Swap Force collection, you can use 5 Sortmaster cases, by Stanley. You will have leftover spots, but it works.

I have one set of toys for each path. I have two bookshelves to display them all. Stuff like game boxes and extra Portals are at the very top as well(for now? I might move them in the future). The cards are in binders I keep at the top of the shelf.
Stored in my room so kind of far away from the living room where I play the game, but it's not that much of a fuss to get them really. Looks pretty nice, and there's no mess with it.
[User Posted Image]

I have a smaller bookshelf which stores variants and other extras and the books and stuff. (No pics right now though since it needs to be cleaned smilie)

I've tried basically all the official storage options which I could get for a reasonable price (so not that dumb Flynn ship...) and they didn't cut at at all- which is what led me to just buy shelves. Plus... If I ever get rid of my collection for some reason or decide to display them elsewhere, I can use these shelves for other things, and they won't have Skylanders logos on them!
The arena display, though, was okay for just playing the game- but I usually have more Skylanders out than can be squished onto it, or only a couple, so it'd be kinda useless keeping it out. Plus I have a dang table anyway. Most of the official options look nice but are impractical and expensive.

As I posted in a previous thread on storage, I had a custom shelf unit made. It only has enough space for SSA and Giants figures. I was considering having another made but for Swap Force I have started to purchase a bunch of floating wall shelves from Ikea that are a perfect width for standing Skylanders figures. I'll take a pic and post later but I think its a great way to display and keep them out of the way from being damaged.

Whats funny is if you take the link you provided and then look at the second picture it has skylanders on the tv stand. How genious of you to pick that link to show.. lol, I have something simular but the one that is more narrow width wise and has the two big drawers at the bottom and three little ones on top. Unfortunately the kids have merged all of the core skylanders into one of the big drawers. And have the swappers in another of the big drawers. Was playing on the ps4 version I picked up this weekend at Gamestop with there portal trade in and discounted price and realized how much it sucks looking through that draw for characters. Gonna have to figure something else out now that we have as many as we do. Would like to do shelves to store them on once we decide to just collect them but that's not feasible when your playing. I want to be able to pull them all out and pick who I want to play. I have seen some of the post of using the Stanley boxes but how many can you get in them. I have over 150 and don't think that would be a feasible way to do it either.

I use this shelving which is on the wall right beside my TV/Consoles.

[User Posted Image]

There's more vertical shelf space and I can certainly adjust the height of the shelves/add more shelves pretty easily. Works really well for me as it would seem like a big hassle to have to remove figures from a container just to play the game.

That's my problem (when I move) do I display them beautifully? Or keep them in a box close to the couch for easy access. Because it would kill my "Skylander Moment" to get up to get all the figures every time, or worse one at a time, and put them nice and neat back when I'm done? No thanks lol

I know right, its cool that we can have all of our skylanders in a menu but makes no sense that they didnt allow the same with magic items, especially when you have to spend 20 coins to use them.

We used 3 or 4 of the Stanley Sortmaster Jr's for all of the S:SA figures, but I bought three of those PowerA tackle boxes and easily fit all of the S:G figures into them with the dividers removed and I have three more of them ready for the S:SF figures when we finish playing the game. Those PowerA boxes were 1/2 price during Xmas so I stocked up on them. They stack and attach together the same way the Sortmaster boxes do. I wouldn't be surprised if PowerA caught wind of how we DS folks were using the Sortmaster boxes and essentially copied them.

The Ikea shelves I am using are officially Picture Ledges. I currently have 4 up on the wall for Swap Force and 2 for my daughters Infinity figures and will be adding another 2 this evening and then I will try and post some pictures for everyone. They are a perfect width for standing Skylanders on and have a front lip to prevent them sliding or falling off.

Link seems to work for me......search Ikea for Ribba Picture Ledge....comes in two lengths and I purchased the 45 1/2" ones.

I use storage bin's I got from Lows for 9.99 a piece

I keep with a strict standard for every case
-- all SSPA character's go on the left with 2 characters given double space
-- all light cores in the middle
-- all minis in the middle back ( if apply)
-- the giant goes in the right back ( gave 3 spaces )
-- SG character goes in connecting spot below giant
-- SSF character's go to the bottom right two normal spaces
-- SSF swapper's go in the bottom L+R corners

Variants, and other items have there own case's (Variants = case, adventure packs + items = case)(I did give legendary and dark edition there own case separate from other variants)

I mostly use the 3-row cardboard card boxes. They're cheap and fairly durable. More recently, I got one of those silly licensed carriers (the "32 fig" one). It doesn't fit my original 32 figs, but then, I assumed it wouldn't anyway. It doesn't hold all my Swappers either, which is a shame. Still, it was half-off and it keeps my Giants portal safe. Once I find another gaming store that actually has some 3-row boxes though, I'll be getting more of them. They're just so useful!

My basic rule of thumb for deciding the best storage is: Reasonable durability, stackability, accessability, and breathing space for the figs. If there's enough room for them to both fit and not get bent, that's very important! You should also consider whether the container itself could bend or damage the figs if they're held in it for any length of time!

Yeah my Lone Ranger Infinity character bent at the feet forward so much I had to bend him back with a little heat to get him a little normal :/ I think my Ninjinis Swards are a little off now too :/

I was looking at the following below at IKEA. They are pretty narrow (3.5"), but I think should hold the guys well. At 45" you can hold a fair amount. I thought of getting 1 for each element (if they fit) + special items. Only downfall is trying to get them all to line up on the wall perfectly. Crooked ledges would drive us crazy.
