I think I'm missing something here.
Why are threads here getting closed because "maybe probably it may might could get offensive to someone who is extremely sensitive"and "it has no point"?

I just don't understand why we can't be "controversial" anymore or have even just a small bad thought that the conversation will be stopped.
Metallo got suspended just for expressing his feelings. Yes, it was harsh, it was classic Metallo, but I don't see how it got against any rules nor why it was worth a suspension. It's not against the rules to have bad thoughts, and he wasn't going against anyone directly, he was just expressing his personality and I get he's really terrible at it but he did nothing wrong.
Big Green's"racism" thread was closed (because of two pictures "going too far"?), the other peeing topic was closed because it was "inappropriate" (pls), wreckingballbob's two threads about genders were closed for being controversial (even though one of them wasn't at all, but I guess you can't talk about genders either) and even the friendly, kinda fun, topic about how good your ears are was stopped because of "ear problems"? I wanted to join the conversation so I really didn't understand that one.

Dark always allowed these kind of things when we didn't have mods and we could have weird but sometimes very fun topics without being afraid of posting something that went too far (as long as it wasn't porn or extremely controversial stuff like 9/11 pics) and we didn't have to stop our bad thoughts because "they could start an argument!!!" when they could only if someone is extremely sensitive.
What is there so bad about an argument anyway? Remember that huge drama in summer 2012 with 10 pages long topics (filled in a day or two) full of arguments? Dark clearly never stopped them, which is obviously the best thing to do, I can't see why you would "censor" a discussion by simply closing the thread. I don't understand why we always have to be happy now.

I'm not trying to say Stuff and Nonsense mods are doing a bad job, but I'm wondering why all of this is happening. Maybe I'm missing something? Maybe dark changed his mind and told mods to be strict about it?

I agree entirely.

I think it's just that people are so afraid of somebody getting offended at something, even though the people that claim someone will be offended are often the ones that are offended, or kickstart the problem by claiming there will be one (see: anyone who ever goes "OH BOY RELIGION --------___---------" in a topic that mentions god). It's like everything needs to be politically correct because god forbid the offended party choose to go to another topic or sign off for the time being.

Dark knows there are and since he made all of this I'm pretty sure he knows what contents are allowed.
Like I said in the OP he always allowed this kind of stuff, and apart from the big example of all those drama topics of 2012 there were many more, for example I remember discussions (not exactly happy ones) with ExtremeSpyro were never stopped. Now we can't even have a chill conversation about with gender is the best, which doesn't mean insulting each other because they are part of the weak gender, but as you can see in that one thread it was all going well when it got closed.

Anyway, children were always here when dark allowed "controversial" topics to be made so unless he suddenly changed his mind and told mods to remove content that may disturb them (even just a tiny bit) that's not the issue.

dark52 really didn't care earlier because he most likely believed the whole "end of the world thing" in what was it? 2011? 2010? Don't really care or remember since it passed, but basically he mostly left this forum to it's demise beside getting rid of trolls and porn images, when it passed, was probably when he really started to care and got mods here.

And so...Starting fights isn't really good for a forum and so, stop fights before they start.

That is my thoughts on it anyways.

That's your opinion I guess, but I don't see how fights are bad.
As long as people are saying what their issue with each other is (or just strongly disagreeing on something) and not just going "SHUT UP ***GOT" then letting go is way better than just censoring or stopping the whole conversation, which could still have some more peaceful discussion too. Dark knew this.
Also, the thing is that it's not arguments to be stopped but good threads which MIGHT result in one. You have to be very careful about what you're posting.

dark and JCW are both on now.

Carm pls, you can clearly see this isn't only about arguments. We're talking about threads being closed because they might even remotely start one, or because they could (somehow) be offensive, or even if they're just inappropriate or controversial. It's happened many times that I saw a closed topic where I wanted to post something and it was just a normal conversation. You can't have a normal discussion if it's about something a bit "bad" like GENDERS.

Dark didn't actually believe in 2012 and I think the one time he mentioned it was a joke.

The thing is that these "fights" usually aren't as bad as people claim them to be. Most of them remain respectful to a degree and don't throw the section out of whack, much less the entire forum. And if you don't like taking part in the argument it's fairly easy to avoid the thread, as most of these arguments stay in one and don't result in multiple topics.

If somebody is going out of their way to insult the other person then I suppose it's going too far and worth closing or deleting the topic. Otherwise it's fair game.

Not exactly the best idea. You gotta ally with them, even if it makes everyone else hate you, they have 5000 stars. Way bigger then any other, and you just need to be wise about how you deal with them. helps to be a Ally-Centric nation, like Trader.
