It it just me - I'm starting to get bored and wish the developers would bring something new to the game other than just more skylander characters ... A new island .. The chance to interact more with other players ... Anything! What do you guys think?

I didn't start until the game came to Android devices, so I might not me the best person to comment. I'm just about to hit level 30, and still have a ways to go with leveling up Skylanders and unlocking Companions. I've played enough games like this to know however that a lot of them have a period of boredom that comes about when you start to hit the ceiling. Its a balancing act of keeping long time players interested and not completely overwhelming new players to the point where they don't even want to try starting.
I wouldn't mind another island or additional gold sinks. I'd like them to hold off on any more gem based companions for awhile, just because I feel I'm going to be struggling to catch up on that aspect for awhile unless I drop real cash. Not sure what else can be done with other players unless they start the whole "gift various items to build special buildings" and expand things beyond just kudos. That or make it so items besides kudos are hidden in friends islands, similar to tasks on collection X amount of items. At least give you a reason to continue to visit after a certain point. |

I am definitely looking for new islands or something in the next few weeks.
I am on level 40. I still have 86 Skylanders to level upto 15. 35/44 companions. 7 giants etc houses to go. I was thinking I would remove all my balloons when I no longer need them and replace them later with air ships as I am able. Relax and enjoy my islands. I am already winding back and enjoying my son's school holidays. I only send 22 hour flights On the other hand we did find L Grim Creeper, L Zou Loo, LLC Chill and L Stealth Elf while out the other day. Our first ever Legendary figures. Dory and jedirowan both need halls to put them in but at this rate it will take them months.

Maybe if we're lucky, they'll release a THIRD companion dedicated to boosting our stocks of kudos.
On another note, I've had 100 friends for many months, but still only 97 friends in-game. It's obviously not going to fix itself. Somewhere there are three friends who think I'm a terrible gift giver... and I'm not inclined to create a spreadsheet just to sort out a known developer screw-up that Activision obviously have no intention of fixing. Feel free to defriend me if you are one of the unlucky three. |

Woz, I am pretty sure I am one of the three. I don't think you show up on my in-game list even though we tried refriending a couple of times. But with visiting having been so buggy in the past, and kudos being worthless, I don't even attempt to visit.

I'm definitely not gripped by the introduction of more skylanders or more companions. I'm tired of my game crashing when I visit others and collecting endless to kens to spend on rather boring decorations.
I totally agree with Dark fhoenix that it's down to the game developers to stop me getting bored .... Game developers I'm bored!

I'm bored too (lvl 40; 129 skylanders; about 10.000 kudos, all houses...). I've nothing interesting to buy, and the last week I bought a few gems, thinking in a new house for this week.....
I've waiting for the update all the day. Nothing... |

Yup it's definitely getting boring. I have 129/129 Skylanders, 44/44 Companions, At least one of all the houses, the Molekin Market.
7 of the 29 Skylanders are Level 15 with the rest being Level 14 I am currently only level 39 with 39.7% to Level 40. I have $75,164,681 Gold, 9,352,461 Energy, 22,055 Kudos (wish these had more usese), 2004 Wish Stones and 9,093 Gems. New Islands would be nice. Anything at this point would be though. |

9K gems? That's a pretty impressive stash to have spare. I thought I was swimming in gravy with 7K. Did you pay real cash for any of those gems? |

Hey, it may seem rude for me to bump into this thread or something and I'm definitely not the best person to comment on it considering how I... dislike the game, but... Don't you guys want MORE than just a new Skylander or something to spend gems/money on if you're bored? Like something that really changes the gameplay- not significantly, but adds something new besides more loot-grinding or more mobs you need to clear? :/
After you finish spending those money/gems on whatever new collectable arrives it'll just be the same thing again, hoarding gold and gems... And considering the track record and current lack of updates I wouldn't expect VV to add much stuff to collect and save for afterwards. Also I agree with Dark fhoenix and Winternights7 on this.

No offense intended friends but when you start paying out real money , it really kills the lifespan of these games .
I am currently playing Fantasy Town while my little brother is having a go at Lost Islands. There is quite a few other "kingdom" games to choose from out there . If you are bored or it crashes pick the next one . Quote:
Really ? Awww I think its one of the best Is it these types of the games or do you have another favorite kingdom game ?

I just rarely pick up these city games in general. I used to be really into DragonVale, although I felt like the updates started getting less entertaining and generally got tired of it when I realised I was doing the same grinding things over and over and just collecting coins to pass the time, and then I moved onto Dragon Story because I found that more fun and fresh. But I got bored of Dragon Story shortly after I got it too and didn't touch another city game until Lost Islands came out, and I haven't played another city-builder game since I quit this one.
I can see why people enjoy them and I think they can be fun to just waste time on- especially if you go hopping between them all, they're always most fun in the early stages when you level up and get tons of stuff available to buy and don't need to grind as much- but there's not enough variety to keep me interested in any one for very long. So I don't get into them. I don't find the decorating fun when it's just on a flat, 2D isometric plane(and most of the really cool looking stuff in a lot of these games is unlocked with those gems and whatever systems that you can pay money for* ). In general I just don't find it worth spending hours on these games and I don't find them much fun. Actually, I find most fizzle out for me after the "tutorial phase", usually between Level 8-15. At the start you level up quite easily and don't have to grind too much to buy much, but then later on you do tons and tons of grinding and don't really have anything to do besides collect gold and stuff. I call it "Level 10 Syndrome" when I really enjoy a game at first but later on I get tired of it because it becomes more grindy without adding more for you to do, and it plagues games in this genre. Actually, I'm not really a fan of level-grinding in games in general, which is also a reason I don't care for most RPGs. I don't find it rewarding to build up stats by repeating the same stuff over and over. Ironically, I like memorising and speedrunning and replaying games, but that feels more rewarding to me. That feels more like I'm actually executing a plan and learning about the game so I can finish the challenge as opposed to beating up hordes of enemies/just collecting stuff from houses so that my "stats" are good enough to be able to continue the game. * I find in most games you need to grind forever if you can get those "gems" in ways other than buying them, just to buy one of the less-expensive premium decorations, which isn't fun. And in most cases the item I want is one of the more expensive ones anyway, which means I just have to buy these "gems" or I could never hope to afford the items without spending ages getting them.

Oohh that sounds interesting i been checking out on Dragonvale. Thank you for the tip . I played Lost Islands because i am riding the skylander high . It crashed on me mid december . I am currently trying a silly new kingdom game called Fantasy Town . I really love that Lost Islands dont let your crops wither , that can be very very annoying . Smurfs was horrible with that , you have a few minutess to harvest your crops or they wither .Smurfs also has the dubious distinction of being the first app game to be abandoned. So far the cellphone has Smurf Village , Lost Islands , Simpsons tapped out , My little Pony and Tiny Death Star . I have to say except for Tiny Death Star the rest are sort of clones with slight variations . I think these games are great for killing time. If you are stuck in line or or waiting , play them . Trying to find a balance is hard . Most of us spend more time on them than we should. Its kind of sad if we pay for an 80 buck PS3 game but its gathering dust because we are tapping away on the cellphone. Even the grinding of Rpgs are more rewarding and well most of us will only spend a month or two on those .

I'll be hitting level 40, today (I'm at 99.8%) and ended up getting Batterson in my personal offers. Even though I don't see a need for kudos (at least, yet) and dislike visiting, I went ahead and spent the 100 gems as he was the last companion I needed. I still need 15 Skylanders that I will eventually spin for and several more that need to reach level 15. So I'll continue to play for a while. But I'm still holding out hope that we will get an update, soon.
