Soooo, I'm gonna build a Gaming PC, and would like some help if anyone here knows anything about them. I have a budget of roughly £600 (About $980 I think) but I'd be willing to go slightly over for some things. I'm not a complete N00B, I know my GPU's from my SSD's and so on...
Thanks :3

^you don't really need more than 8 gigs tho, really more than that is quite overkill
with a $980 budget you should be able to get a pc that can max out most games really, also i'd recommend spending ages shopping around for gr8 prices, amazon normally has some good prices so ye though i can't really say much unless you can go into more detail at what you're after |

4GB is enough to run most games but your PC will still have trouble processing light workloads even with 4GB your PC will still lock up a lot, 8GB is necessary if you want a fast PC.

AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz Socket AM3+ Octo Core (4.7 is the BASE clock speed)
GeForce NVIDIA 4GB GTX 760 Zalman Z11 Plus midi case Probably gonna get an MSI AM3+ socket motherboard Corsair 550W bronze series modular PSI 2 modules of 4GB 1600MHz Vengeance DDR3 RAM I might get an SSD, and load Windows 8 64 Bit on to it so I get quick boot times This might change over time... Oh and an I7 would be complete overkill... That there is the best AMD CPU on the market, and with 16 mb of cache to boot, it's a pretty sweet deal to say it costs £200 (reduced from £600) With this system, there's no reason it would bottleneck, and I doubt I would, but if I needed to, I could SLI 2 760s...

Ok thanks, the motherboard is quad channel, and it has 6 SATA ports. The case is really easy to expand with, As it has like 5 3.5" bays and a 2.5" bracket. The case has really good airflow as well. I might even add a blue ray drive, as I found a cheap one...

I don't know if I'm a bit too late to reply.
If you want a gaming PC, I'd recommend investing more into a graphic card than the processor. Processor is good for multi-tasking, while graphic cards run most of the game. I see you listed AMD FX-9590 CPU. I don't know what's its price where you live, though where I live, I'd rather buy Intel i5 processor for that price. Or FX-8350. I have it and it's great. If you want to save up even more, you can go for FX-8320 and clock it to work just like 8350. That way you can make room for an even better graphic card. Though if you're going for AMD's CPU, you should get a better cooler for it, as they tend to overheat very quickly. Also, I agree with Pixilism about the power supply. I have a less power-hungry build than the one you listed, and my Thermaltake 550W slowly started dying after only about 5~6 months, and started dragging all other components with itself. I had to change two hard drives, a motherboard and a graphic card. Now I have Corsair 600W and it's doing ok, however I absolutely hate Corsair for their noisy power supplies. Mine makes an extremely loud high pitch whenever the computer is shut down (my model is Corsair CX600). If that kind of thing would bother you, don't go for that model. My friend has the same one and it does the same thing to him. Corsair also has a terrible customer service, at least from my experience. I've been waiting for a month for a reply to my question. I'd really recommend one German PSU called 'Be Quiet!'. I know it's a funny name, but they have a long warranty, and I'm yet to see someone complain about it. I regret not going for that one instead of Corsair, and it cost only 10 pounds more. But whatever floats your boat. So, yeah, power supply is very important too in my opinion. Try going for at least 100W more than recommended for your build, just to make sure it won't strain itself. Especially if you're going for GeForce. |

Hey,
I've decided, I might actually stick with the Gaming PC, and I've become friendly with a guy who owns a PC shop in my area... To be fair, I'm not too bothered about noise, and also, the CPU is £200, reduced from £600

OP, I have one thing to tell you: go ask this on a computer/tech forum, not a forum for a kid's game series. You will get thousands of times more help.
That being said, I think the specs you listed are way over priced. |

HDMI is only important if your monitor also has built-in speakers. Otherwise, DVI has the same image quality as HDMI. However, I agree with Shrazer. Way over priced. My entire PC cost half that price and it runs all games on optimal graphics. The only worse component I have is Radeon's 7770 graphic card. In all honesty, you could buy two Radeon graphic cards and it would still cost less than that GeForce you listed, and you'd get same performance. Radeon is much cheaper, and doesn't require as much power as GeForce does. As for the performance difference, I think it's really minimal. I still say you could go for FX-8350 instead of FX-9590. Only difference is in 0.7 Ghz. I seriously have no idea why would anybody need over 4Ghz for any game. All in all, you really don't need the best of the best to have a good gaming experience. And in my opinion, there is no such thing as a future-proof component. Technology moves fast, and I bet that my PC will be pretty out-dated in only a few years. Buy what you think you would really, but really need, and not go overboard with the specs. After all, the good thing about computers is that you can upgrade it at any time. |

I am not quite sure. There are many models, but you don't necessarily have to buy two. 2GB should server you just fine, even if you're a hardcore gamer. Crysis 3, for example, requires 2GB for high performance. If Crysis 3 doesn't require over 2GB, then I don't know what game would.

However, with Radeon, you can have multiple monitors plugged in. I'm not sure about GeForce though. I know GeForce can have up to 2 monitors plugged in while Radeon can have even more. Up to 6 I believe.

Sapphire is good in my opinion. I really recommend it. I've had my Sapphire Radeon card for almost 10 years and it still works fluently (well, it just recently started playing up a little with text but nothing serious), except for that it's only 512MB. Nevertheless, it's reliable from my experience. Considering my old PC kept running at 70 Celsius degrees for years lol.
And no, Sapphire doesn't overheat to a temperature THAT high. I just never cleaned my old PC. |

Alternatively,
ASUS GTX 750Ti Intel i7 4770K (Although due to this, it is about £40 over budget)
