I ordered 3 SSA Adventure packs (all but Darklight Crypt) from Amazon.com. Two out of the three had open packages. One was stapled back together, the other had the cardboard completely detached. My first thought was, "I'm sending these back." But I'm wondering if it's worth the effort. As long as the figures are all in good physical shape, and the web codes are redeemable in Lost Islands, everything should be okay, right? What do you guys think?

I'd keep them...it sounds like you purchased them from Amazon 3rd party sellers rather than directly from Amazon. If the purchased listing said the item was brand new, I'd contact the seller and point out the fact that you received a stapled box. I once got a refund and got to keep the item I ordered when I received a series 2 Hex figure with the backing removed and the figure was played with (not at level 1).

Before re-opening the packages, I would put the skylander on the portal and check them that they work ok...If so, then I don't see why not keeping them if your intent is just to play with them and tear up the boxes anyway.

You guys are right. I'll keep the ones I received, and just send the sellers an angry letter. Hopefully I'll luck out with a refund, too.

My TRU has a small display of packages that either had the cardboard come off, or possibly a returned item. None of them have the cards, just the bubbles in a bag. Both Skylanders and Infinity items. The most amazing part is they all have price tags, FULL retail price, and not one of them is something they don't otherwise have in stock.

I would stop short of the "angry" part, at least up front. Although I think you're right to be dismayed and I would be too, you're likely to get a desirable end-result if you try to be decent. The whole more-likely-to-catch-flies-with-honey thing. Of course, if the seller doesn't agree with you, THEN it would be time to bring the dismay. FWIW: getting Amazon involved usually gets these things resolved. Again, if you appear hotheaded from the outset though, you may not curry as much favor. |

Yea that's the only good thing about Target. Because if that happens there they reseal it and then mark it down.

All basic figures from first 4 games and I've stopped counting. |

This is something that's starting to happen to the first figures. I have a few in my collection that are coming off the backings, too. Seems to just be a problem with the aging adhesive.
