Everyone (including me which I'm smilie and Junior Asparagus) you can pick a Giant, Core, Swapper, Variant, Sidekick, Classic Spyro, Legends of Spyro, or VeggieTales characters. you can have up to 22 characters.
Plot: The Skylanders get sent to a world full of talking vegetables by smilie. They think that the VeggieTales characters will attack them until they find out they are nice, so they ask them to help them beat smilie.
