This is a big thing for some gamers like myself and HIR. I'm hoping that this game's music is better recorded than in ANB (not sure about TEN because I lack the MP3s still). I'm also hoping there's any actual title theme instead of it being music from some place in the game.

And I already saw that some music is being reused (Cynder's first battle music), and I heard the music from the ANB level where you must flee from Cynder in the first area of TEN. I'm hoping that if there's any more reused music, it's the best tracks that there were.

SO!, how about what you want in terms of music, what do you want/expect?

Well when they were fighting those...things at the beggining of the level, They had TEN music but... they changed the volcals

this is the difference :

TEN volcals (just listen to the people singing)

DOTD volcals (trust me it's different![listen to the volcals (voices)]

and they used this music for the Golem battle at the first level smilie

ANB smilie

I can't hear any differences between those vocals in the comic con preview and the original soundtrack... there's no reason why they would they change it my opinion... altho I listened only to the first half of the video it seems the same to me

I guess that some people like to be lazy. Because the music in The eternal night and Dawn of the dragon has half the music being the same.

It is for me too. And this year, with DotD, it looks like they did a pretty crappy job. They mostly seemed to remix pieces of the previous games tracks. I think I have only seen one or two new songs total.

When they're in that magical forest place thingy, they have new music. (In my opinion, i think the old music was good, and this new music in the forest sounds pretty good too. So i'm kinda glad they brought back some new music.)

Reusing music in games is BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD. There are a few exceptions, and that's if the tune was exceptional and the rearranged version sounds just as nice and is well-polished (case in point, Koopa's Road from Super Mario 64 was excellently redone by Mahito Yokota to form the music for Bowser's Star Reactor and Dark Matter Plant in Super Mario Galaxy. The same goes for the Airship Theme from Super Mario Bros. 3, redone as an epic orchestral piece by Yokota). Frankly, I found nothing memorable about the TEN track Black Powers (Cynder Action I did like because it really complemented Concurrent Skies). Therefore, the only other time it's okay to reuse music is for very minor tracks (case in point, ST-02 (Cathedral) a relatively unimportant stage music song in Devil May Cry, was slightly remade by Tetsuya Shibata for the 50 second cutscene in Devil May Cry 3 "Vergil Afterwards").

Considering that this is supposed to be the ending to this trilogy, you would want some pretty action-packed, fast-paced music. Therefore some of my wants include:
1) Cut the choir a bit. Choirs are nice, but when overused (such as in almost every track) they get a bit redundant and annoying. Try just sticking to orchestral for some tracks. I liked the Temple Action piece from TEN. It suited the stage very nice, and was pretty much choir-less. It is easily possible to make a very epic piece that's entirely orchestral. Choosing to save the choir for specifically climactic battles and mixing it with the orchestra makes for a nice feel (case in point, the track "Vergil Battle 3" from Devil May Cry 3 or One-Winged Angel from Final Fantasy VII Reunion Tracks).
2) If you're doing a God of War-esque battle, you need appropriate music. I think that dynamics play a major role in this piece. Changing from a soft orchestral line to a dramatic and loud riff including orchestral and choir is much more engaging (case in point, Esper Battle from Final Fantasy XII, Puppet Zelda from the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Power of Destroyer - Limit Break Mix from Devil May Cry 4).
3) The music for Malefor should be loud and probably would be better off in a minor key. You want the music to sound very intimidating because this is the big, bad, boss that you've been waiting to face throughout this trilogy. The Well of Souls track from TEN was very good music that suited Gaul well. Black Powers was awful. Plain and simple. It sounded more hopeful and nice than dark and intimidating. The music for that battle should be fast-paced and very engaging (case in point, Legendary Battle from Devil May Cry and VS. Metroid Prime from Metroid Prime).

End rant! ^_^

What pisses me off is all the vocals in the music; the vocals are distracting and irritating.

Lair had the best war music; knowing where it's from, I can't help but think about the level the music is from.

1. Don't forget Lair! 8D
2. Aye; that's why I'm very unsure of DotD's moves. I'm especially gonna be pissed if the certain attacks that look powerful (like Spyro mid-air holding an enemy in his mouth/talons and slamming it into the ground) being weak on all but the weakest of enemies.
3. True.
