So... I bought a castle when it was 75% for some gems. Not realizing how lame it was with the 36 hour countdown and little XP that it gives. The MAbu it gives are nice, If I sell the castle will I lose my Mabu?

Hmmm.... That sucks. Have to see where I am at as far as Mabu. I am about halfway to 30. Are there any major things that need to be bought that have a mabu requirement at 30 or beyond?

Yes. All the great XP generating community buildings, like parks, stages, circuses, potters, etc. require lots of mabu. You'll start wanting those buildings as you work your way to level 40, when it takes millions if not billions of xp to go from level to level.

You think I should sell the castle or keep it?

Yes.... Although I still think that the B&B's are better, certainly when you win them in the wishing well

As long as you have space for it, I'd keep it at this point. That is, until you have copious B&Bs and Wood Stack Houses. Try to skip building outposts, strongholds, keeps and manors if possible--go right for stone slab houses if they are available. They're more expensive per mabu but they take up a lot less space. Space is such a premium as you will want to fill as much space as you can with community buildings, not to mention giant/alt/etc. houses, balloons, shrines, etc., all while leaving sufficient space for trolls and sheep mobs to spawn.

Does most of that stuff appear at 30 or after? I don't see any B&B's in my store to purchase.

I think the entire "space" argument is a little overrated. I just made it to level 40 and at no time felt the need for additional space (e.g., new islands). Too need to be smart and start eliminating things that become useless such as having 6 Post Offices, and replacing Outposts with Stone Slab but that is what keeps the game interesting. And before anyone starts yelling at me, go ahead and visit my islands: I have 39 shrines (or an entire island devoted to shrines), I have every Premium House (Swarm, Hot Head, etc), I have 9 Dragon Lairs, etc, etc. I am not saying it to brag, I am trying to prevent anyone from saying the "space is a premium as you add stuff" argument. And yes, I have a Castle because it looks cool, although I did put the second Castle in Storage...

That depends on your goals for playing. At one point I was trying to fit all quantities of every community building on my islands. Space was a premium. I've moved on. Space is more of a premium now since they added the xp rollover - I went back and added high producing community buildings that I had previously sold. After a few more shrines and giant houses, my islands will be cramped again. I'll figure something out and keep going. |

I'm at level 38 and I didn't have a space issue and even just purchased my last island a few weeks ago. Buy now I'm already wanting more space. I did just fill up half of one of my islands with Halls when they were on sale for 100 wish stones (I bought one for every possible Legendary). I do have some space, but it's very limited. I've noticed I haven't been getting elemental totems, but I think it's because my empty spaces are full of mobs I've been saving. However, I know I have an entire island full of low level houses that I can probably replace, but it's hard for me to let go of stuff, and that was the first island I worked on. Sometimes I forget bout it unless I'm collecting XP as it only had mabu houses, but I still find it hard to get rid of it all.

I keep one of every house - just to remind me of how far I've come |

I had tried to keep 2 of every house and community building, but I recently gave up on that idea and have reduced it to 1. I like to see the variety, and at each stage it was so exciting to be able to finally build each building/house, that I want to keep them.

This is what I think. I like to have some room around my islands to make them look nice with trees & stuff. I've even left the mud puddles, boulders & swaying trees etc. on half of my islands because I like them. I think it would be nice if they could give us half gems back instead of gold when we sell a premium building. At least it would be one way of getting gems from the well. I think it's only fair. Plus we could take advantage of the "premium buildings 75% off" days.
