Battlefield is a game that places more focus on team combat than CoD, which often feels like a free for all to see who can get the best/most kills on their team. I feel like Battlefield is the middle of the road for people that want team based battles that CoD or Crysis can't give, but also don't want it to be TOO team based like TF2 or Arma where one bad cog breaks the entire machine.
BF4 has changed its controls to feel more like CoD (on consoles I mean; no idea how it is on PC) and it's uncomfortable to get used to them when you've spent the past two years using the unique controls that BF3 had on consoles.
Meanwhile CoD Ghosts made little cosmetic changes in how your character moves and junk to feel more like BF. I don't get why they did that when it's clear at the end of the day that CoD is going to be a bigger seller regardless of what DICE and EA does.
Even still, I prefer BF4 over Ghosts. I've somehow found a way to play every CoD game since MW2 and at this point I've gotten rather tired of it, and BF3/4 has fit me and my playstyle better anyway.
Besides, you can't knock over a skyscrapper in Ghosts.

On PC the effin' thing doesn't work, it constantly crashes, has awful optimisation and is basically unfinished.

The PS3 version also has a habit of crashing every now and then and there are various bugs scattered around the place, such as any regular rocket curving upwards in mid-flight and almost working as a homing missile to hit your target regardless of where they moved. Obviously not as bad as anything on PC though.
But when the game does work, at least on console, it's fantastic.

That's probably an issue with your connection, not a bug in the game.....I've heard that the console versions of BF4 have had some of the worst connection issues in the entire series.......
