People are so complex. Every person has multiple aspects of their personalities, and these are seen differently by each person who interacts with them. Nobody has just one attitude or disposition that they constantly maintain, and nobody continues the same viewpoints throughout their entire life. Thoughts flow all the time like turbulent rapids, and of course, we don't have the ability to read minds, so we never truly know what's going on with someone else.
Therefore, we cannot say that we truly KNOW anyone, can we? We cannot constantly monitor them nor their thoughts, and even if we could, we'd see it in different ways because we, too, are just as complex as our object of observation. Everyone is different, and within these differences are even more differences, and our hearts, souls and minds are constantly changing. We're affected by our environments, our peers, and even ourselves, not so much by what we observe, but rather HOW we observe it, because as aforementioned, we experience things differently.
Even WITH all these differences, we still judge people. That's what's so disgusting. Even worse is the fact that EVERYONE does it, every single man, woman, and child alive today has judged someone or something in their lifetime simply because of the way they saw actions. Why is it so hard for us to accept the varying degrees and forms of truth and just stop judging? Why is it so hard to accept the fact that one man's trash truly is another's treasure? And even in modern society, it's only getting worse. But it CAN change. After all, we constantly change, and ideas change with us.
In conclusion, no one on this planet truly knows anyone on this planet. But in my eyes, and perhaps yours, too, the greatest beauty of life is ambiguity.

Technically we are not all that different from each other. A human being has no capability to make infinite amounts of different conclusions. The structure of our brain and the way it works is similar, it is limited. As in, we simply can't be "infinitely complex".
But still, I suppose anything could be labeled as unique if you think deep enough. And by that logic, labeling anything is irrelevant since nothing is the same. These are just realizations that we come to simply because they're a part of our way of understanding. Like you're in a dream and you know it's a dream, but no matter how much you know it, in the end you're still just dreaming and nothing has changed. So while this may seem like deep **** to talk about, there is no point to any of it. The smartest thing we can do is to simply ignore these realizations, because we find no answers in them. They do not apply to anything concrete. Empty conclusions, useless. |

I don't quite agree with that last part, man. Even if it's just "pointless thinking", it's thinking like this that's really practice for thinking deeply on real-world situations. Just look at Aristotle, Democritus and the like; Sure, they spent a lot of time doting over seemingly trivial ideas of life, but due to this thinking, they also made mathematical and scientific breakthroughs for their era. This applies to my life. Not only have people done this to me because of my appearance, I've done it myself.

But there is no difference between "thinking" and "thinking deeply". There is only one way of making logical conclusions, which is Deductive reasoning. And of course, abstract statements provide only abstract conclusions. And can you be sure that these mathematical and scientific breakthroughs you mentioned were made due to abstract thinking? Because these people were not only philosophers, they were also mathematicians and scientists that looked for concrete advancements in math and technology. I'd like to try to elaborate since I'm not sure if I presented my point clearly, but my friends are waiting for me. Happy new-years and all that. |
