My kids play with these things every time they go into our Toys R Us so I've been watching to see if they'd get clearanced, as at a price point of $35, they've been languishing on the shelves for a LONG time-seriously like a year or so. So I found this deal in my internet perusing...

Interesting tidbits about this deal:

All of the TRU's within 50 miles of me show unavailable/out of stock for store pickup...but I KNEW I saw these things were in stock just last week while doing some Christmas shopping. What was odd is that they were in a different aisle away from all the other Skylanders stuff-so it stuck out more in my mind and I knew right where to find them. Sure enough, the 2 that have been languishing at my local TRU forever were still sitting there in the same random aisle when I went there just a couple hours ago on the way from work.

The sticker still said $35 and a price check in store said the same. Went up to Customer Service and showed them the price on their website. Zero issue with price matching. I also informed them about how I tried to just order them right away online for "store pickup" but was unable to and found it odd since they DID have the item. I was informed that if stock of an item is lower than 5 or so items, they won't show up as in stock on the website. They've never had anything more than 2 in our TRU...so you might have to just hitch up the wagon and do the in-person hunt thing for this one to save shipping. If you order them online to your door, you're eating another $8 of shipping. (well, unless you order enough other stuff to go over $50 to get free shipping). Either way, this thing has some serious "wow" factor for my kids cuz it's big,it talks and the arm laser lights up as well so it definitely would be a cool thing to have under a Christmas tree on the big day. Since they're still showing up as $35 in store (well, at least in my local store they're still showing up regular price), if you've been eyeing this, you probably have a good chance jumping on this one since in-store customers aren't jumping on what could be an impulse purchase at the $8.75 price.


Either way, not a HUGE deal...but I like to give back to this site for providing me so much help when I'm on the hunt for these things so I wanted to share.

Edit 2: They call it "My Giant Skylander" on the TRU website (why, I don't know...it's the same thing)...so if you don't like random tinyurl's due to potential rick rolling...Just search that on TRU website and you'll see it.

That awesome I picked one up under $20 and thought it was a steal.

If you have a Ross: Dress for Less in your area, check there. My local ones have started to get this in for $14.99.

I did see 2 of them at my Ross for $14.99 about 3 weeks ago, my wife convince me to pass them up. If I see them at TRU, that might be to good to pass up.

They also have the smaller plush (gill grunt, spyro, erupter, trigger happy) for $1.75 each, normally $8. I picked up 12 of them at my local TRU for just under $23. Same story at the cash register, have to show them they're own add at the cash register so they can do a price match.

Now, to figure out what I'm going to do with them.

I just got one what a steal at $8.75 thanks.

I've yet to use it (mostly because the last time I tried, the item sold out right before I got there), but was told I could do it. They even offered me a free shipping code for when the item came back in stock. Too bad it didn't until right as the sale ended

Different product...but that's a pretty dang good deal. Those smash hands are fun...My kids have some Hulk ones and they have a ball with them. They're plush instead of foam though (and one of them goes "HULK SMAAAASH" when you slam it).

Not a surprise that the Tree Rex plush is showing up at Ross...$35 is a lot of dough and my gut kept telling me it would be clearanced and/or moved at a lower price...but what do I know...People can spend up to $20 on just the outfits for build-a-bears...*shrugs*

Ahh..sorry about that. I didn't see the link and got confused on what you were talking about. I changed my post to reflect that because the other 2 items are a great deal.

I've also been finding Skylander Mega Blocks at TJ Maxx, including store exclusive ones (at least one that was exclusive to Walmart). We ended up picking up a small Mega Blocks set with Kaos for $4. I had never seen him before (at least in a small set).

Edit: I found out the Kaos was a Walmart exclusive. Ours didn't have a sticker on it like the Biclops did. So it seems like they may have gotten a shipment of overstock from Walmart or, at least, stock meant for Walmart. I was also able to get the Target exclusive Mega Blocks Dark Spyro for $3 at Target, the other day. They've all made for good stocking stuffers or toys my son can pick up with his allowance.

Huh, might grab the Smash Hands just for the heck of it.

That's the case for every store. You just have I tell them to price match the website. Or if your store happens to have enough (mine had a ton at one time) to show up as in stock for store pickup, you could do it get way.

Looks like they went back up We're pretty much done for Christmas spending, but after I thought about it, I knew my daughter would like it and her birthday is coming up in January. Oh well.

Dang...Well look at that...Not only did the price bump back up to $35...but they actually bumped the original price up to $45 to make it look like yer getting 10 bucks off. LOL...Now that's a new one. Wondering now if somebody made an error on the 8.75 price and this is a "miffed manager" price correction.

Either way, I'll update my original post so nobody gets confused.

I beleive the MSRP was $49.99 when it came out.
