Anyone else see this new variant sold in stores? I finally saw one in Target and just had to buy it for my son after he saw it on the collections app. Santa will be giving him a Santa skylander this year.. What's funny is I used the wireless portal with it and it worked with Lost Islands. Cool looking character and from what I understand he looks like this in the swap game as well (unlike pumpkin eye brawl, my son is still recovering from it not showing up in the game)

He's been known about since before the game came out. If you check out the other forums, here, there's lots of talk. I'm not sure if the old thread that we found out all the variants is still around or not. There was lots of discussion about Pumpkin Eye Brawl even before he came out and how he wasn't an in-game variant.

I never thought about Jolly being in the game already with the portal. The new Legendaries are that way, too. I don't have a portal, though . Oh well. I wonder if they have them all in, this time around. With Giants, if you had a variant that wasn't in the game, yet, you could enter the code and it would unlock the regular version, then again unlock the variant when they finally put it in the game. This may be a way of them fixing that, just programming them all into the game but not making them available for puchase, web code or spin. I think I like the old way better Although you can get Skylanders in the game earlier than others if you have the portal.

Yeah I have a suspicion that all the characters are already in this game. The only thing is if you add it through the portal you won't get the missions until it's made available to everyone in the game. But in the mean time, I can level him so he is ready to go through all the missions quickly. Too bad the holiday buckler isn't available as a toy, my son is asking santa for it lol. I had to explain there are just some things santa can't provide.

Nice to see that pumpkin eye brawl was an exception and not the rule.

I got him almost 2 weeks as I was able to purchase him a week early due to a stocking mistake and he was ready to be unlocked in Lost Islands. I'll second the idea that all the character models are in the game despite not having quests until they're officially available. Just another perk for those of us who shelled out for the Battlegrounds starter pack.

If you did not know, he unlocks a pretty nice Santa hat when you put him in the actual game. Nothing pops up that you have unlocked it but its there in the hat screen.
