I need 300gems and can't buy them best way is...

Level up your skylanders, do all their quests, and use the sanctuaries as much as possible. Buy Ruggles, Softpaw, Cape Girl and Capybara King if you haven't already (and can afford them), as they will make racking up gems a lot easier. Have lots of friends on Activate and collect from them every day. Getting gems isn't easy but with lots of these methods stacking up collecting gems because easier.

It takes a while to build up gems. But now that I have some of the companions Nroc mentioned, plus Swap Force characters to take out the bats, I'm starting to build a little collection of them. Not enough to go crazy (like some), but I can buy a house here and there (which also has the chance of giving you gems, although it may take a while to build your 350 you used to purchase it). I would also put Hyde in there. If you play regularly enough, he's only 30 gems, so you'll get that back in about a month.
