Thanks for laying it all out. I know there was a discussion already, but it's good to have a thread with all the info posted in the first post.
Southpaw may eventually be worth it. If you have the right Swap Force characters, that's 2 gems per bat. Double your chances of gems would be great. Much better than double elemental totems with Cherry and they asked 700 for her. 50 is practically a steal. 25 would be better, but you would probably earn the other 25 in extra gems by the time he goes on sale (unless some time traveler knows something. With that said, I've hardly seen any bats, lately. So double of zero is still zero. But, I guess, when I do see them, I'll be happier for it. Funny thing is (and it seems to go this way a lot), I just sent off my Skylanders off on adventures. I looked all over for any bats, then knowing I wouldn't be playing for, at least, an hour, I sent off my Swap Force characters. Right after I sent them, some bats appeared right next to my balloons taunting me. |

I guess, at least, they don't list Holiday Wash Buckler in the Skylanders list so it doesn't taunt you in not being able to get him, but we still know he exists, so it still bugs me. I'd like to get the portal and have found deals on it by itself (with the code) on eBay, but they seem to be lacking, right now. I assume you could play Battlegrounds without the portal. Does it work just like Lost Islands and Cloud Patrol where you just enter the code once? How does that affect your number of uses per code? Or do the characters you have unlocked with codes cross over?
With all that said, I can never seem to have free space on my phone. 500+ MB is a lot. I currently only have about 70 MB. |

And that's around half of the size it used to be. Characters are supposed to carry over between all 3 mobile titles using Activate but I have not had any luck in getting that feature to work. I'm just glad that VV is now actively supporting Battlegrounds and cross promoting it this way as I've had it since launch and really only benefited from the portal and Royal Double Trouble. |

I thought it was funny they introduced a companion that did what sending all your Swap Force characters does. Every time I send them all out there are bats. I've gotten to the point that the only time I send them out is when I am going to bed or working and not re-open it for at least four hours, so I don't have to see them mocking me.

I am almost 100% positive soft paw is broken. It has actually made the spawn worse for bats. Usually if time travel backwards you get spawns from everything, bats never spawned. All day in the present, 1 single spawn. I think that companion is broken because if not, I suggest people not waist their gems.

I have to agree with this post. Bat frequency has decreased, not doubled, since I bought the new companion. |

The new companion works for me. I used to have 0 bats and, after buying him, I have 0 bats. Double bats indeed.

I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned the new quests. Or maybe it was just me. With the update, I received a bunch of new quests for houses/companions. I received a quest for Eye Brawl's house, Dragon's Lair, Bird House, and Flynn. Flynn's quest gave a gem and I received another quest with another gem reward. I thought Eye Brawl's house would be easy, but I had used Eye Small for the house (it only says to collect from the house) and it didn't work.

There seems to be a bit of randomness apparently with house and companion quests either appearing or in fact reappearing after differing periods of time. Today I had the Flynn quests for both accounts, the Dragon lair for one account (despite both accounts having the Lair), and Hot Head's house quests for one account but not the other (again despite both accounts having Hot head's house). |

Speaking of quests, is anyone else having the issue where other Skylanders quests are being highlighted on the adventure list? For instance, say I have a quest for a Skylander to go to the Troll Factory, but that adventure is highlighted as a quest for the other Skylanders. It's getting very confusing as all my Skylanders are showing up with quests active in the adventure list, but they really don't have any. It's gotten even more confusing with the quests for Tessa all highlighted. But the other problem has been around for the last week or two.

I definitely want to get Softpaw, but only if he works. With Snowler Brawl's house and Fire Kracken going on sale and providing a free fire shrine with a quest, I'll be spending a lot of my gems, this week. At first 50 wasn't that much (since I actually had 675 saved up), but they'll be dwindling quickly. And if RattleShake has a quest, next week, I'll probably go ahead and pay gems for him (in hopes that mine will come in and I'll get them back later). Softpaw is definitely worth buying if he works, but I don't want to buy him if he's doing the opposite, and even if he's just not doubling (as he would be a waste of gems at this point until they fix him).

BTW, I looked on eBay and found people selling the codes for Battlegrounds (without the portal or figures) for pretty cheap. I ended up getting one for $1.55. They already sent me the code. I figured at that price I would take a chance on it, and if I ever do get the portal (as I've seen them selling them with the codes fairly cheaply) or the complete set, I can just, in turn, sell that code, and if not $1.55 isn't that big of a loss. Now to find a way to make room on my phone for the game so I can activate it and get Holiday Wash Buckler.

Thanks for the eBay idea! Cheapest I found was $2.49, but that's still better than $6.99

The frequency of bats appears to be way down regardless of whether you bought Softpaw. I haven't and am experiencing the same issue.

Which would be a valid theory, except some people are still only getting 1 bat, unless there's some way for it to spawn 1/2 a bat, it's not doubling. |

FWIW, even though the top half of the swapper gets hero xp for clearing bats, the bottom half gets quest credit. Good to keep in mind for the JFK quest.

With regards to Softpaw, remember that he is only one factor in the spawn rates. We all know that spawn rates drop significantly when you have a quest for a particular type. Double the much smaller rate is presumably occurring. Once you finish the quest for Sugar Bats, which i have, the doubling is much more apparent. Like Cherry this means one spawns twice as often and twice as many can spawn at once.

I'm not really sure how real that is, although it sounds like it could be. But does that count for timed quests or all quests? I have lots of quests needing bats after picking up a bunch of Swap Force characters. But even still, I also get lots of spawns of sheep and trolls even though I have quests (even timed quests) with them. Bats have been low spawning, period, lately. I may see one or two a day, if that. And a lot of times they won't spawn until right after you send your Swap Force characters out on adventures. I watched as one spawned right next to the island my balloons are on right after I sent them away. |

Spawn rate for me on sugarbats has improved compared to yesterday. Had about 5 of them spawn in the last two hours or so. Its still not overwhelming, but its sure better than just the *1* group that spawned yesterday.

Same principle works in reverse. Top half also gives quest credit, while you can still collect a gem with some other pair of 'pants'. |

I got the "Great Value" offer for Softpaw at 50%, so I'm glad I waited to buy him. Although spending 50 gems and finding out people were getting him for 25 isn't as bad as people spending 3000 on Tessa and finding out people were getting the offer for 1500. But since it seems that the offers are random, you don't know what you'll get. And if I had purchased Softpaw at 50, I could have gotten a deal on something else. I wonder how long these sells will last (since there is no expiration date on them). Are they a one day thing or multi-day? And once they end, will we get another offer. I'm interested in seeing. I think I'm going to start a new thread for people to post what offers they are getting. I'm not sure if it's helpful, but maybe interesting.
