I was able to buy jade fire kraken today plus got 2 new timed mission one from Flynn to send giants on quests and the other from the advisor to quest out skylanders but jade fire kraken I hope the figure will be out soon if it is in game now

I'm surprised that Jade Fire Kraken was released in Lost Islands but at this time there is no known information about the physical figure's release.

The current thought process is Jade Fire Kraken will be released around Feb 2nd for Chinese New Year.

So why release him in Lost Islands now then? They could have just as easily removed the errant quest, right?

That would be admitting, or even acknowledging, you made a mistake which Activation has struggled to do with the issues from the past fall.
