Finally made it to level 40 over the weekend. I have to say I was really, really looking forward to it. I couldn't wait to clean up my islands and stop having to collect kingdom XP again.

But....I found that immediately after reaching level 40 my interest in the game has severely waned. For the first time in months, I didn't gift yesterday (I did today though!). Amazingly, the journey to level40 was more rewarding than the destination. NOT that I'm complaining, mind you. I'm going to enjoy this "time off" from kingdom leveling! I'm just curious if others experienced the same thing.

I've spent a fair amount of time this weekend cleaning up my islands and I'm basically done with that. I'm not really sure what to do with all the stuff that I've collected to surround my buildings with bonus awarding decorations. I might just sell it (right now it's organized by island by element). I get a ton of new stuff every month from the well, and money doesn't seem to be a problem.

I'm currently saving up for the 8 or so spins that I need to unlock all of the skylanders, which I will throw next month after Christmas when I can get my hands on my kids' swap force characters I haven't broken into early to get their codes. Then I'll buy the boat house and wood stack house to clear those quests and clear out the giant and other house-owning character quests (that send you on the 24 hour mission 2x for 600 gold reward). And start replacing wood stack houses with acorn houses too, I suppose. Oh, and get my characters up to level 15 (I've already gotten the first few over that finish line too). AND I've already building the two stages you can build at 40 and will stick them in storage as soon as they get done later tonight.

I'm guessing they'll raise the level cap again before I get that all done.

And that'll probably make me happy. I'll be back in the hunt again!

Did you buy extended storage space? If so how much does it cost and for what additional space after first 15 gems for extra 3 slots?

My islands are big mess, I still need to force myself to organize it smilie

As for other goals - get at least one of every building, have max dragon houses, dark houses, etc.
Redesign you islands to be beautiful or functional - or both at the same time (my be chalennging) smilie

Same hear!

Just reached 40 and all those XP that are in the way. I mean, it does get kind of full when al the XP that are ready to harvest are visible, but pointless. I wish they made them disappear once you reached the max, and let the XP visibility return, when you can level up again.

But in the meanwhile, I'll be gifting daily, and visiting friends daily as well. I noticed you can receive quite an amount of gems doing so. That will give me the opportunity to save for a house or two (although I ran out of gems, after throwing all in to get the shrines with the current sale. I bought 10 :-), as I had to start almost from scratch whit the shrines. I didn't buy any houses as I expect expanding enormously with legendary houses.

So for now, I do hope they will level up pretty soon. Crossing my fingers for a couple of more islands to go open!

I woke up early this Sunday morning (8:00 am ) , because I knew that with the first "tap tap" on fisheries and little else, and would reach level 40 ( last night I was at 99.8 %).
But then it was .... puffff ...... I also felt a bit of disappointment after having achieved .

I wanted to get to level 40 because I will get more money from the houses and that will allow me to get helpers (Barkley, whisper Elf and Eye-small), because with the spins, I have gotten normal skylander at first, after the swap force (today I have got the last one) and then will come the 2 darks missing me, and finally the 3 assistants I couldn't been able to get before the swap force . I hope to get them this week , before they add new skylanders (I think I read they add new in December).

My kingdom not changed too much. I'm a bit manic order and only I removed some little decorations that used to increase XP.

When I have all Skylander, I'll buy wood house and so I'll have the necessary mabus to get the stage.

Then ........ I guess...... I'll take another disappointment. Anyway , I'm still hooked on lost islands .

I reached level 40 not so long ago, it now gives you a higher chance of gems and the experience is now out of the houses, so, now 1 in 3 chance for gems, so, save save save for stuff, I bought me a dark house on sale, I have all giant houses, I also have all characters I can buy already, just got me the stage and wood stack stuff to do. I am now not so crazy for loading it up all the time, I've got 630 wish stones, so, grabbing them hourly isn't quite needed anymore. I still enjoy the game, and always look forward to the next alter ego, but, the interest level is waining a little for me, not loads, I still load all house/HQ's, santuaries etc etc, but, I'm basically on a cash and gem hunt now. Getting guys to level 15 I suppose....... 14 to 15 is long! Still love the game, and well, you know the level cap will be rasied to 45 smilie

I think it's 50 gems to get your capacity to 20 (which I did with no hesitation) and another 150 to get your capacity to 50 (which I am seriously considering).

You can time travel a week ahead, harvest the XP and it will take a week to reappear.

I reached level 40 a couple weeks ago. From that moment on, I have lost interest in the game.

I gathered gold and bought all the new skylanders via skylander spin. Now I have all skylanders (except the impossible to get in the well alter egos), most of them at level 15, I have 31 shrines, 50 balloons and over 3000 stones for the useless wishing well.

I am a little bored with this game. It should not be that difficult to raise the level cap and the skylanders level cap from a developer point of view. If they don't do it at short term, I will end up giving up.

I know what you mean. I hit 40 and I was YES, finally!! And then it was like aw, now what. I have all the skylanders and companions. It was a year long journey and it's a little sad. At least they do update the game regularly but I do miss those yearly days of trying to get enough coins to unlock an island.

This is why I haven't been in a hurry to level up. I read about people optimizing their experience points, and that just isn't for me. I like collecting experience, because the island looks messy when you don't - though I do think Easterro's suggestion for when you've maxed out is a very good one.

The game simply wasn't as much fun when I was maxed out before, and became exciting again when they raised the cap and added all the new features.

At some point, I'll have to admit I'm simply done with the game and move on, but right now I'm still having fun. In another thread, people are talking about time traveling to get top companions from the wishing well. If I had all those top companions, I think my interest in the game would drop more quickly - it's only fun as long as there are goals to strive for. So no time traveling wishing for me.

#12 Posted: 15:21:14 25/11/2013
Well, it's true that time travels to get companions, makes everything faster, but the rate at which developers add new features is very slow , so I think it's more fun to go slowly getting goals .
Anyway, I like to see it I go forward in the game , and we must recognize that kingdom collect points to get to level 40 has made ******me too too slow (you collect all possible get XP and only 0.5% or less). The best of get 40 is that alts and giant houses stop giving XP , so increases probability to get gems and money.
At the moment, the game is funny for me because of I'm missing some skylanders and a couple of houses, but not take long to get it . It will be sad to collect money and don't have anything in which to spend it (as it's happening with kudos).
So in my case, it will not travel in time (also it seems risky if you don't know well ). I think I'll walk slowly .
Anyway I 'm so glad I have got level 40. smilie
Suggestion: We must unite for a common request: a new island. It's what everyone wants, and some people have given very good ideas in the forum.

I would not complain about another island...well maybe, just another space to have to scan for chompies...smilie

But at 40, you can solve many of these problems by replacing nearly all your houses with wood stack houses. Soon I will only have castle, B&B and wood stack houses. All this fits on 1 island and will provide more than enough housing for what is currently in the game.

Also, you can spend some time at 40 preparing for the next level increase. At 40, they increased the cap of certain builds. Do you have 2 Stages? 2 Parks? 2 Circus?

Depending on how long it takes for them to raise the level cap, and how fast I can save enough for the remaining spins, and obligatory boat houses, etc., I plan on upgrading my stone slab houses to acorn houses as well. Depending on how many B&Bs you have, you still need a fair number of stone slab houses if you want to go full tilt with circuses, stages, parks, etc. I have 40+ stone slab houses and 4 B&B's and that's not nearly enough to cover all the community buildings I'll want on my islands once they increase the level cap again. I'm hoping for lots of B&Bs, fisheries and taverns with all the wish stones I'm generating with my full complement of shrines...

I'm with Arkhamhorrorfan in not wanting to take advantage of the time travel "glitch" since then there really would be nothing to do in this game but wait for the level cap to be raised.

[Edited to replace "wood stack" with "stone slab"--thanks Charred.]

Do you mean the stone slab houses when you say wood stack houses?

The wood stack house is the one that costs 20 mill and provides 3200 mabu.

If you mean stone slab, then I would reconsider your plan to upgrade to acorns. It will only offer you a bit more mabu at the same space requirement. To really improve, you need to jump to the wood stack or boathouses. Selling those 40 houses will make a big dents in the cost of replacements.

After an investment in shrines long ago, I have collected enough stones to simply wish to get BBs. That helps a ton. But I am so sick of the fisheries. They take up a lot of space since they are a 3x2 and only reward 2800 per 14 hours (aka once per day). Now the taverns, they offer 2200 per 9 hours thus 4400 per day. You can fit 3 taverns (12k/exp per day) in the space of 2 fisheries (5600 per day).

I did mean stone slab houses! I'll edit that.

The cost efficiency of those wood stack and boat houses is so terrible I'm reluctant to go there and really can't afford to any way. You're right that I should probably try.

I disagree on the fisheries. I can collect them on average 1.5x a day. For example, on day one I can collect them at 6:00am and again at 8:00pm. On day 2, I can collect just once at 10:00am with the next possible collection point at midnight. On day 3, I'm back to collecting them at 6:00am/8:00pm. Even if the second and third collections slip a little, it's easy enough for me to keep this schedule. That's effectively 4,275 xp per day, which is not much worse than the Taverns (at 2x per day) and better than almost everything else in the game. And given that they (like the taverns) cost zero mabu I'm a fan of them, even though they take up more real estate. This is yet another reason for a new island--to house an ever-growing collection of fisheries and taverns!

LOL, I already started building another park and stage and some other high XP community buildings. I already had 2 circus. So when they raise the cap again, I'll collect even faster and be sad again when I max. It's a vicious cycle!

From scratch to 40 with LOTS of time travel recently for my autistic son's game who wants everything NOW - 3 weeks.

I can't speak to time travel, but that's probably about right for us non-time travelers. It's probably 1-2 weeks tops per level until you get to level 35, at which point it starts taking longer. Levels 39-40 will take almost a month each. You will tick up 1-3% per day on those levels, even with massive amounts of xp generating buildings.

I started when the game came out, hit the 30 and 35 level cap, and am now all but at level 40 with no big companions or time travel. I did have a couple of fairly major bugs that subtracted about a month of game play.
