I tried watching it, but I just thought "what the ****" when I hit the episode of the space colony with the aliens and the princess thats just a flap of skin, and stopped watching it.

I don't watch Doctor Who, I've never watched Doctor Who and I don't really care about Doctor Who. I don't even know anything about Doctor Who.

Assuming you've never watched the show either, why do you hate it?

To be honest, the fans and so forth haven't ruined* this show for me yet, I'm steering away from it for my own reasons.

*ruined meaning "steer away from", not "hate" but make me unlikely to look into whatever it is for a while. A more intense expression than "steer away", what some people may mean when they "hate" a show they've never watched enough to gather their own opinion on the show itself beyond reviews and its fanbase.

I believe that was also the first episode I saw.

I remember busting out laughing because one or two of the aliens had really funny voices.

Actually, there was a spin-off, 2 in fact. "The Sarah Jane Adventures" and "Torchwood" (anagram of Doctor Who).
