Greetings Portal Masters

My 7, 5, & 4 yrs old boys are asking me to make a Skyland Diorama / Playset.

This is what we plan or what we have so far. On Santa's list, Skyland and Fynn's Ship playset or storage set and, some mega bloks (sheep, chompies, imp)


We need some informations regarding:

1. What kind of foods do skylanders eat?
2. What kind of props, like bombs do skylanders use?
3. Any idea on what kind or theme of skyland/island is good, like volcano Island.
4. Any idea how to make a home made island . What materials should we use?
5. I know that I have to deal with miniatures stuff. Any idea where to get them or order them?

Any idea or information, that can help us make the home made skyland diorama will be very much appreciated

Get a big block of packing material, it's normally fairly solid and light with at least one flat side.
Break up some bits and stick to the bottom to make it floating island shaped.
Paint the whole thing in primer, then green. I would suggest using green flock to make the grass and get some "gravel" as rocks.

BEFORE GLUEING OR PAINTING - check the glue/paint is safe for the packing material you use. Some react and dissolve with poisonous fumes!!! BE CAREFUL!

I would use some clear perspex rods as legs to hold the thing upright. You could also use a shelf L bracket pushed into the side so it can be screwed onto the wall for a real floating island

The skylanders ate different elemental themed plants in the skylanders universe and lost islands and they had different island themes like fire water etc in the universe. There should be pics amongst the threads or via google or spyro wikia and skylanders wikia

If you do use styrofoam,
-It's pretty messy and clings to everything so you want a vacuum handy.
-Super glue and spray cans will dissolve it, use PVA glue (like Elmer's or tacky glue) with toothpicks stuck in between the pieces to bond it. Test on a scrap first to be sure it will work. Same goes for paint.
-It will release toxic fumes if exposed to fire. You can use a torch to melt it for shape, but if you do make sure it's in a very well-ventilated area.
