Back when the metallic Gill grunt was revealed, I sent an email to an individual at Toys4Bob.
I explained that Gill grunt was my sons favorite character, that he was a namesake (our lasy name is Gill) that he had em all and a couple custom Gills to boot. I explained that as I understood at the time that the Metallic Gill was some kind of retail partner excusive similar to the employee releases, and that there was no way we would be able to afford one from ebay (at the time the first ones auction was over $200). My letter was much more elequent than what Im writing here. Lol.

Anyways, I didnt really expect a reply. But I did revieve one.
I was surprised just at the reply. He didnt even know about the particular varient at the time.
But he asked for my address and said hed send some kind of fan service my way like a shirt.

About a week later I recieved a Gill Grunt shirt in my sons size. And another week later I recieved a poster tube, inside was a large Giants poster signed by, what seems the whole team at T4B.

I was very appreciative. In my experience I have never seen a company respond to a letter like they did! Much less send something postage paid. They were pretty cool.

Unfortunately, my son loved the shirt but could care less about a signed poster, lol.
And now I have a signed poster stored away in a poster tube addressed feom T4B.
We dont hang anything but a few pieces of my wifes art and family photos.
And in its tube it sits.

But it got me wondering. My son and I only collect figures. All the lineup with ingame varients but no chase figs. And I know there is a plethora of various merch out there.

So my question to the portalmasters and PM parents, what else do you collect other than figs.
And if anyone else has a story about T4B generosity, please share.

Video games, Magic, Warhammer, Warmachine, Information and merchandise pertaining to The British Columbia Ferry Corporation, Petro Canada Olympic Glassware, Vinyl, Board Games, need I continue.

I second the praise for TFB and their staff.
Simply getting an actual email response from a person these days is a miracle but Toys For Bob appear to read and respond carefully, this simple act shows they care about their customers.

As for collecting? That is a dangerous route if you have that "mentality" so I try to avoid it...I still have an awful lot of Computer related stuff (I used to collect old Arcade game PCBS, working to play at home).
