My visiting yesterday, after the update, was much better than I've experienced since the kudos were introduced.

I visited around 70 of my friends, did not have a single crash, and did not once return to my island with the error message.
Hyde appeared on many islands, and made his appearing sound each time, so I knew to look for him.
Between gems from Hyde and gems from kudos, I averaged 1 gem for every 2 visits.

Wow. I might need to start visiting again...

It really gives me a little scared to visit (even though I love it), but I spoiled the game 3 or 4 times visiting, and I saved it thanks to the backups. I think I'll make a backup and try it again (I want to see the progress of my friends ....) .If I got more than 2-3 consecutive failure I will stop.

It seemed better during the Hyde glitch, but still not perfect. I almost think they put the Hyde glitch in just to get people to try visiting, again. Too bad I didn't find him, though.

I just errored out of 5 friends in a row. Sigh...

Rats - I thought they must have fixed things. Maybe I just got lucky.

I'm erroring out of just about all my friends... and 200 kudos just disappeared (when I was just 7 away from Admiral Thumpback, nooooooo)!!

well..... I will stay on my island..... is so bored....

I've never had any problems with this.
Then again, I only have 4 friends

I can visit about 85 out of the 101 friends.. Seems that the same friends are crashing over and over.. So I'm thinking about replacing them.. New friends work fine...
