What do they do?

They add a 25% Gold bonus for their respective Skylander and their variants. Spyro, Hot Dog, Zap, and Tree Rex all have #1 Fans.

I think they're great. They turn regular skylanders into the equivalent of the monthly alter egos, and they work on variants and minis. They were a good deal for 25 gems or so and they're a great deal for free.

Weren't they originally like 100 or 150 gems? I can't remember. I do remember them offering Spyro's free and lowering the rest to 25. I picked up the rest when they were 50% off right before they went away. I figured they were done with them since they kept getting so cheap. Now that they're back, I wonder if they'll have more. A Thumpback or Ninjini would be great since there are so many variants.

I think that's right. I'm guessing since they're giving them all away for free, the devs don't think they have any value and I'd guess they won't do any more. But it would be nice to be wrong!

They were 25 gems originally I believe because I bought most of them for 12 gems when they went on sale before they disappeared into the nether world.

They actually started out as 125 gems each, then Spyro's was given for free and the others dropped to 25. Then there was the 1/2 price sale before they 'left'. Point is, at the new price, they're a pretty good bargain for anyone who doesn't have them.

But you did benefit from them for however long before now, that was worth something, I suppose. You paid the early adopter price.
