Does anyone know this crazy figures deal?

To be honest I'm not sure either; I don't think it's so much rare as in high demand. We have three other Pop Fizz's, all of which compatible with both games.

LC Pop Fizz is the last one I'm missing too, saw six of them on Polar Whirlwind's launch and figured it would stick around since it was Lightcore and they hogged the shelves like no other.

Lightcore Pop Fizz and Lightcore Chill were both very limited quantity releases during the early summer of this year in the USA. They showed up for a couple of weeks at Target stores, and I never saw them anywhere else, and haven't seen them for months in any store.

Yeah I saw him twice at Toys R Us this past summer. I paid the inflated price just so I had him, and then never saw him at Target or Walmart. And i never saw the lightcore Chill - I only have the Toys R Us Legendary version.

At my nearest best buy, last time i went hunting there i saw pegs full of LC Pop Fizz. Dont know how its going in stock now.

Chill I got via Toys R Us when they were doing two lightcores for $8 apiece, but I'm seriously going to wait for prices to die down before I spend anywhere near that just to finish my Giants set.

The deal is that you missed out on purchasing when this figure was readily available. I bought one for my nephew before I even knew about Skylanders and all the figures since Pop Fizz was one of his favorite guys. It's all a matter of timing...if you're collecting Swap Force, go out and get all the figures right now or else you may be posting in a few months about Lightcore Flashwing or Warnado when there aren't tons in stores any more and all you see is Wave 3 and 4 releases.

Other than the variants, they'll all be readily available. The issue isn't 'wait for them to come out then buy buy buy', it's 'wait until the market crashes'. He's expensive right now because people figure he's rare. Eventually people will get buyers remorse, a fourth or fifth redo of it will make it moot and so forth.

At most only the chase variants will be the only ones to retain value as things wind down.

Pop Fizz IIRC was only in our earlier refills for Lightcores. I don't even think our store has had to order Lightcores any more than maybe 6 or 7 times because they just don't move as well as the core figurines (and now similar to giants with the swap stuff out, except Ninjini...).

Kind of a bummer really, the parents figure the cost difference really isn't worth it...But they go for it when they can't get the core figurine, and the kid(s) really want a certain one...I think it's more of a reverse remorse than anything in that regard...Kinda like how some shops will only have one of a certain tv set's box on the floor, so people think it might not be here the next time so they spring for it when they are on the fence.

I remember snagging him on the WalMart.com website, along with most of my other lightcore singles as of recent...Maybe I was just lucky, but it didn't seem difficult to get any of them. Heck, even Target had the LC triple pack available...Pretty much everything Giants but Series 2 Bash seems to be all about patience, but I don't know how much Swap Force is going to conflict with that.

I got mine at Future Shop here in canada, I don't do duplicates* so I got only the light core where available .


*Except in cases of Hex and Prism Break (My wife and My Favorite character)

I got LC Pop Fizz early on cause he is one of my favorite characters (love Bobcats voice). LC Chill I passed on cause I have the TRU LLC Chill.....haven't seen her since.

Another one I passed on was S2 Wrecking Ball. Saw him at Walmart at release along with S2 Spyro. Went for Spyro since I figured he would be hard to find cause of popularity.

Now guys that are common I'll buy rather than wait, I have a feeling that Slobber Tooth is going to be a rare one.....only for the simple fact that he's in the 3 pack and people will go for that first. Rather than buy him as a single. I'm guessing by the time wave 4+ hits he'll start disappearing from the shelves and we won't see him back.

Last time I checked, Chill was in-stock on Amazon.

Picked him up first time I saw him at TRU. Never looked for him again. Never knew he was so hard to find now. Good luck!

I got him online ordering from TRU along with Legendary Stealth Elf and Legendary Lightcore Chill. I remember the Chill going out of stock soon after my order. I think LC Pop Fizz may have as well, but I can't remember. Is he not for online sale from any stores anymore? This was probably back in August when I ordered those three.
