Mmkay, so here's the deal.
For Black Friday, EbGames is selling a Wii U 8GB With Skylanders Swap Force, for 299.99$.
If we take out the price of the game, the Wii Costs 229.99$.
Or getting the game for free.

Thing is, it's still a big investment, and I would like to know the pros and cons of the Wii U, even though it's always appealed to me.

Well, I'm gonna ask my mom and dad for a wii u on Black Friday cause it might be cheaper ._.

Pros -
Backwards compatible with all your Wii games!
Gamepad! Off TV play! (And for all your Wii games as well, now!)
Awesome games!

Cons -
No gamecube compatibility/support
Expensive (xD)
Some of those awesome games aren't out yet...

Personally, I'm pretty darned happy with mine. I'd say, go for it (if you can afford it!)

The gamepad is what's appealing to me, as I can have a console in the comfort of my room without a TV.

Definitely get it. Unless you want to miss some awesome games such as *cough* ZombiU, Skylanders, Sonic, and SSB4. In all seriousness though, I feel that it does act as a very good game system, but if you plan to get games that will appear on other consoles, such as AC IV or Watch Dogs, I'd recommend getting the xbox or PS versions, because the Wii U version probably won't have the DLC the other two versions will.

Most Wii U multi plats get DLC just fine. Some even include the DLC on the disc, meaning it's free. I have Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and it automatically came with it's DLC on the disc. It also has two extra modes exclusive to Wii U. Not to mention that the game has 5-player local play on Wii U, while the other versions only have 4-player.

I bought Trine 2 on the eShop, and the paid DLC story for other versions was included in the game completely for free. And the game also has an exclusive Wii U level (though this level did later get added to the PC version via a patch, but not to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions).

I also bought Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the eShop, and all of the extra characters that were added to other versions via a patch were already on the game. Not only that, but the game had a ton of content that was available through pre-ordering on other versions, unlockable through the Wii U exclusive "Tekken Supporters" mode. Plus, the game has a fair bit of Wii U exclusive content and features.

So yeah, I've found that multi-plats get DLC just fine (I know ACIII has DLC on Wii U). And they often have exclusive content on Wii U.

Plus, Off TV Play is an undeniable perk that all multi-plats on Wii U have.

Another thing I remember my dad saying, is that you could play Wii games JUST on the Gamepad and a Wii Remote! Let me explain. Nintendo released an update, maybe a week or two ago, that can allow you to play Wii games on the Gamepad. The black bar above the screen is an infrared sensor, so it should work. I haven't tested it out, but I think it is pretty reliable, as my dad gets news of gaming relation every week.

I know about things like these, I was referring to Triple A titles such as COD: BO II, or AC III, which don't contain any DLC for the Wii U versions.

As I said, AC III DOES have DLC on Wii U. I've seen the "Add-on Content" icon beside the game on the eShop.

I recommend. Nintendo was here first, and is actually different from the PSBone.

Oh, sorry. I figured that since you mentioned it was a Black Friday thing, presumably exclusively at Gamestop, I figured it was an coincidental but unrelated promotion, since what I posted was about a bundle that will be released at all retailers two weeks before Black Friday.
